Clean and very friendly staff. Just opened the bar area with game nights and a nice kitchen menu. Managed like a city lounge rather than a small town watering hole. I tried the wings. Great !!! Baked and fried I am guessing in butter. That is the only way to make them so good. Stop in and try them . I wish all the luck to this place.

One review specifically mentioned that "At first glance, it seemed very clean," suggesting a positive initial impression upon arrival. The hotel's location on S Progress Ave places it within Pottsville, offering convenience for travelers visiting the area for various purposes. While specific details about the exterior or surrounding landscape are not provided, its address within the town implies a more urban or suburban setting, rather than a secluded retreat. The recent opening of a bar area with game nights and a kitchen menu indicates an effort to create a lively and engaging common space, aiming for the feel of a "city lounge rather than a small town watering hole." This suggests a modernized and social environment within the hotel, designed to appeal to a broader audience beyond just overnight guests, potentially attracting local patrons for dining and entertainment.
The services at Pottsville Hotel are highlighted by its staff, which receives positive feedback. One reviewer specifically noted "very friendly staff," indicating a commitment to guest satisfaction through approachable and helpful service. This aspect of hospitality is crucial for a positive guest experience, suggesting that visitors can expect a warm welcome and assistance with their needs during their stay. The presence of a newly opened bar area with a kitchen menu also points to on-site food and beverage services, providing convenience for guests who prefer to dine within the hotel premises. The availability of "game nights" suggests organized entertainment, adding a layer of service beyond just accommodation.
Key features of the Pottsville Hotel, based on the provided information, include its dining and entertainment options. The newly established bar area with a kitchen menu is a significant addition, offering guests and local patrons a place to socialize and enjoy food. The "wings" from this kitchen menu received high praise, described as "Great!!!" and prepared in a way that suggests a focus on quality and taste. This indicates that the hotel is actively enhancing its food and beverage offerings to provide a better experience. The concept of "game nights" further expands the hotel's features, providing organized recreational activities for guests and community members, fostering a more engaging atmosphere than a typical hotel lounge. While not explicitly stated, common hotel features such as free Wi-Fi, parking, and standard in-room amenities (like a coffee machine, TV, and private bathroom) would generally be expected from a hotel of this category, though the quality of some of these can be subject to individual experience, as highlighted by some reviews.
However, an objective introduction requires acknowledging areas of concern, as indicated by conflicting customer experiences. Despite an initial appearance of cleanliness, one review painted a starkly different picture of the room's condition, stating, "our room was actually quite dirty. There was dust everywhere, the bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and there was an old coffee pod left in the machine." This feedback raises significant concerns about the consistency of housekeeping standards. Such issues can severely impact a guest's perception of value and comfort, directly contradicting the positive observations about staff friendliness and initial cleanliness. This discrepancy suggests that while the hotel aims for a positive image and service, there might be inconsistencies in the execution of essential operational aspects. The only redeeming quality noted by this critical reviewer was the hotel's "location," implying that while its physical placement is convenient, the internal conditions of some rooms may detract from the overall experience.
Regarding promotional information, specific current promotions for Pottsville Hotel are not detailed in the provided reviews. However, hotels, especially those catering to a local or regional market and opening new facilities like a bar and kitchen, often run various promotions to attract guests and local patrons. These could include:
Opening specials for the new bar and kitchen, such as discounted menu items or happy hour deals.
Weekend packages that might combine accommodation with dining vouchers or entertainment options.
Seasonal rates that vary based on demand or local events in Pottsville.
Discounts for extended stays or group bookings.
Special themed nights for the bar, such as the mentioned "game nights," which could come with specific offers.
In summary, the Pottsville Hotel offers a mixed experience for visitors searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the area. It benefits from a potentially convenient location within Pottsville and is actively enhancing its appeal with a newly opened bar and kitchen area, which has received positive feedback for its food and atmosphere, managed by a friendly staff. This indicates an effort to create a vibrant social hub within the hotel. However, the critical feedback regarding cleanliness in some rooms points to a potential inconsistency in housekeeping standards that future guests should be aware of. While the friendly service and new amenities are strong points, the variations in room condition suggest that a consistent quality experience across all accommodations might still be a work in progress. For those prioritizing a hotel with a social scene and convenient location, while potentially exercising caution regarding room specifics, the Pottsville Hotel could be an option.

Apr 30, 2025 · Jonathan Maddy Sr.We had a terrible experience at this hotel. At first glance, it seemed very clean, but our room was actually quite dirty. There was dust everywhere, the bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and there was an old coffee pod left in the machine. I do not recommend this place. The only good thing about the hotel is its location.
Apr 14, 2025 · Iryna ShchukinaReally wished we would have read the reviews for this one. This hotel is NOT associated with Ramada. It’s privately owned and operated, and the owners do not care about the place at all. We stayed at this place as it promised complimentary breakfast, it was along our travels, cheaper than other hotels in the area, and we thought it would be kept to Ramada standards. We were so wrong. The lady at the desk was really nice, albeit very clearly spread thin and stressed out. She was helpful whenever we needed anything. The manager was ok, when we asked for the wifi password, she gave us an odd look and asked, “are you guys even guests here??”. When we replied “yes, we’re staying in room #____.” she was still hesitant but gave us the password anyway. It was an odd interaction and we felt like we were doing something wrong. The hallways and carpets look like they’ve never been cleaned or vacuumed, in the rooms and out in the halls. We had to wear indoor shoes in the room or else our feet were all sticky and we were stepping in crumbs and paint chunks from the crumbling walls. THERE WAS NO BREAKFAST. The whole reason we chose this place was so we wouldn’t have to venture out to find and pay for food in the morning. There was stale cereal with no milk. A waffle maker with no batter. Cold coffee. No eggs, no bread, no nothing. Just stale cereal or dry oatmeal. There was a cigarette butt in the fridge where food should have been!!!! The “fitness center” is just a gambling room where people smoke indoors all day long, stinking up the lobby and every floor above it. Gross. Don’t stay here. Seriously, just don’t. We travel a lot and stay in all kinds of accommodations, this has been the worst one yet.
Apr 05, 2025 · Rachel WIn town for one night. Needed a place to stay. 1st wasn't sure where we were supposed to park but we figured it out. Across the street. Make sure you get a pass to put in your car window. homeless people camping out next door. lobby smelled like pot and 2 suspicious guys hanging out there. The room OMG! Gross! stains on walls, dust on everything and floors were dirty. It was a no smoking room but you would choke on the smoke smell. Only checked one star so I could submit this post
Dec 14, 2024 · Dorothy GordonQuaint hotel currently under renovations. The ballroom was beautiful and was the perfect place for my niece's reception. Be careful with parking - you must get a parking pass from the hotel front desk to put on your windshield or you will get a violation from the parking lot operators.
