First day here. Google hates waiting for reviews. Here for Gilemore Girls Fan Fest. Everyone here is really nice. The room? Too hot. We opened the windows (it has ac, but it's also in the 50's). Restaurant is fantastic. (Okay. Trout was a touch fishy. The lamb shank was amazing. Veggies perfectly crisp, bartender fantastic). Worth the stay. Kent CT. Is a wonderful little town.

The menu features a mix of Continental and American dishes, with specialties often prepared tableside, such as Caesar Salad for Two and Filet Mignon au Poivre, which are flambéed with enthusiasm for a truly theatrical dining experience. We arrived for booking made well in advance Christmas night and found that the hotel had messed up our reservation. Instead of taking accountability for the mistake the owner hung up on us and later had a different employee call us to say we'd have to wait two hours in the cold for someone to arrive to somehow fix the mistake they had made. Staff seemed to have little idea of bookings or management, we were provided varying dates of when we'd booked (staff called once and texted once to confirm bookings, both times with different and incorrect dates.) I have family in the area and I understand this is a well-regarded restaurant but the inn seems to be an unprofessional operation unworthy of your business. There are many inns and even motels in the area with competent ownership and professional service; pick one at random and you'll have a better night than at the Fife'n Drum.
