My husband I stayed there on May 10th 2025. We arrived at 3:00pm and the two staff at the desk were not nice to us at all. They asked my husband for a security deposit for damages to the room? Something we have never been asked for before. She said you have a room next to the "stairs" and you can take them if you want? Never said to us before at any hotel. The room was not the best, not even a closet for hanging any clothes. The next day at check out, my husband mentioned that we were asked to apply a security deposit and even the women behind the desk that next morning could not understand that, her words to us "you do not look like the type that would destroy any room." We always stay at Hampton Inns when travelling and this is the first time the front desk staff seemed to have real attitude! As Canadians, it did not leave us with a good feeling. Please train your staff to "greet" people in a better way, upon arrival.

We have stayed at Hampton Inns all over the US. While they can vary a bit from location to location, this one is the worst by far. The entire hotel is badly in need of a makeover. All the room doors are scuffed or scraped, as are the walls. In the room, the furniture was chipped and the armchair was frayed. The linens were fine but not as nice as other Hampton Inns. Or they were just old. The fabric sides of the bed were either badly stained or bleached in places. The breakfast was a horror show. One side of the toaster was broken, one of the waffle makes was out of order, the tables were never cleaned between guests, We came down at 8:15 am and half the breakfast items were missing- the boiled eggs, sliced bread, muffins, and oatmeal had all run out. Only the bread was replaced. Anyone coming until breakfast finished at 10 am had very little to choose from. The people working in the morning were not approachable at all. And spent more time smoking outside than trying to improve the guest experience. Overall, a hugely disappointing experience.no value for money here.

I stopped here with my wife and two dogs as a halfway point on our trip home. I really appreciate the hotel is dog friendly and only charges a total of $50 for the pet fee. That is very reasonable. Our room was very spacious and shiny clean. I also love that the air/heat unit was quiet (last hotel I stayed in it sounded like a jet engine). In the morning we had a decent complimentary breakfast then headed out. I recommended staying here if you go to Beckley or just needing to stop for the night. I will definitely go again.

We had a great stay. The breakfast had EGGSellent omelettes. We did get a handicapped room, and the shower flooded all over the floor. We thought this was quite the safety issue for a person with disabilities to have to clean off the floor or potentially slip due to water being all over the floor. The man at the front desk was amazing in getting us plenty of towels to clean up, and gave us excellent service, but said “oh yeah, that room is missing a lip in the shower and that happens from time to time. We’ve been meaning to replace it.” They probably shouldn’t let out that room until that problem is resolved!!
