I've stayed at all the Hamptons in Albany and I this one rates high just like all of the others. They are clean, in good repair, and the staff is friendly. It's always a good experience at these locations, and I never get any bad service from anyone that I encounter. The only downside is that for some reason every Hampton in the area had broken water dispensers in the gym? I don't know why that is. This one has the nicest and best gym out of all of them also. Except the music is a little too loud and you can't turn it down. Maybe a dial or something from those of us who want to watch TV or take a call while working out? Not enough to take a star off the overall score though. I always recommend Hampton if you're staying for work and looking for a great value for the price.

While the general service quality is high, one review did highlight a couple of minor issues regarding room preparation. Specifically, a guest mentioned needing to request lotion and a comforter, implying a slight oversight in room readiness. Additionally, a situation arose where a room type was changed without prior explicit agreement due to overbooking. While the hotel attempted to rectify this with a call, the actual change occurred before consent was given. However, the overall sentiment remains positive, with the guest stating, "I am not going to trouble them to switch back," indicating a level of understanding and flexibility. These isolated incidents do not seem to detract significantly from the overall positive perception of the staff's friendliness and the hotel's generally reliable service.

The hotel offers a variety of room types, including those with two queen beds and king suites, catering to different guest needs, whether a family traveling together or a single business traveler seeking more space. The availability of "soft beds" is also a notable feature, contributing to a restful night's sleep, as highlighted by a guest's preference.
The on-site fitness center is a standout feature, being described as superior to those at other Hampton Inn locations in the area. While a minor issue with loud, non-adjustable music was noted, it wasn't significant enough to negatively impact the overall positive impression of the gym. The presence of amenities like a pool (typically an indoor pool at Hampton Inn & Suites) would also be a standard feature, though not explicitly mentioned in the provided text.
For business travelers, features like free Wi-Fi and potentially a business center (common for Hampton Inn & Suites) are crucial for productivity. The hotel's value proposition is strong, consistently being recommended for its "great value for the price," a key feature for budget-conscious travelers who do not want to compromise on quality.
However, a minor detail noted in the reviews is the recurring issue of broken water dispensers in the gyms across multiple Hampton Inn locations in the area, including this one. While a small inconvenience, it’s a detail that, if addressed, would further enhance the guest experience.

The combination of clean rooms, friendly staff, complimentary breakfast, and a superior fitness center collectively forms a strong promotional package. Despite minor issues mentioned in one review, the overwhelming sentiment remains highly positive, reinforcing its reputation as a preferred choice. Feb 03, 2025 · Joseph JohnsonFew issues: 1. I booked two queens bed a while ago, they called me few days before the reserved date and left a voicemail asking me if I want to switch to a King suite since they overbooked. I called next day and they already switched me before I even agreed to it. Fine, as long as they have a soft bed, I am not going to trouble them to switch back. 2. The room didn't have lotion, I had to go down to front desk to get one 3. Then the room didn't have a comforter for soft bed and I had to pick up from front desk again. Apparently, they don't have the courtesy to get the room ready for me even though they know I need the second bed
Mar 10, 2025 · Dennis ZhengAbsolutely nasty from desk. Doors stick to the floor. Could not open certain ones due to construction. Front desk refused to give me a room that worked. Says no one else complained even though housekeeping knows it's an issue. Hopefully I get my money back cause we couldn't stay in a room without a door that opened with super strength. Housekeepers very helpful.
Mar 01, 2025 · Shari GI’m a frequent guest at Hilton hotels and chains, and I’m a Diamond member. Most of my stays have been excellent, but this one was a major disappointment. The first issue I encountered was a broken air conditioning system. They moved me to another room, but the A/C there didn’t work either. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and did everything they could to assist me. However, they informed me that they didn’t have a maintenance team available anymore. The room I was moved to was room 201. Unfortunately, the A/C in that room also stopped working. To make matters worse, when I went to bed that night, I woke up with a bedbug bite. I called the hotel’s customer service department, but unfortunately, no action was taken to address the bedbug problem. **Updated *** Hotel lied about having someone professionally come to look and clean until 2 weeks after I reported vs the same day like they stated in multiple emails etc. They did refund me half my stay but it’s not about the cost. They lied, exposed multiple guest to same issue
Nov 05, 2024 · mark martinMy family was looking forward to laying our heads down and getting some good sleep after a long drive with our little ones…… nope- we ended up with one migraine, one headache, and one difficulty breathing due to the overwhelming lobby/hotel consuming perfume smell!! It was all engulfing the moment you walked in. It was a horrible smell that permeated the lobby, elevators and rooms. By the morning we were up promptly and leaving before 8am— forget the breakfast or anything else offered……. Just needed to get out of the horrible smell. Never will stay there again. So if you’re sensitive to smells, have migraines or asthma I would strongly advise seeking alternate lodging.
