I saw their expert tip saying: “If you find a cheaper rate elsewhere, we’ll match it and give 25% off.” I found a cheaper rate and called the hotel. Spoke with someone named Hope — she had no idea about the offer. I politely asked for a manager and left a voicemail with David. Never got a call back. When I arrived at the hotel, the area felt a little… off. But I kept driving down the street, and the building did start looking like the photos. One guy working on the door looked like he hated life. Not a warm welcome. Check-in time. The front desk lady (sweet smile, name started with a T) was polite but felt like I was speaking to a bot. When I asked about the Hilton price match and discount, she had no idea either — so she asked another staff member (Angela? Angie? Angel?). That lady lied and said the discount was already applied… then turned around and said they don’t even do it. She looked stoned. But I stayed calm, said “okay,” paid the full price without drama, and went to my room. The room was nice. I called the front desk to thank them and set a wake-up call. Slept great. No complaints about the bed or room. That’s the only reason you’re getting one star. But then… checkout. I saw Hope again. I jokingly reminded her of our earlier convo. She clearly didn’t remember but acted like she did. Told me “make sure to stay with us again” — like a robot. I said, “No ma’am, I’ll be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn — they even have Tesla chargers.” Now here’s where it gets wild. Before I even stepped into Hampton Inn, I visited Hilton Garden Inn to charge my car. Ms. Mona greeted me kindly and let me use the restroom. She said, “If you need anything else, just let me know.” 😮 WOW. That’s hospitality. Next day, while charging again, I walked in with my Hampton Inn receipt and some Amy’s Organic Mac & Cheese. Mona recognized me, showed me a place to eat, and reminded me I should’ve stayed with them. She said, “I’ll take care of you next time.” Yes, ma’am. ✅ The truth: Hilton Garden Inn treated me better without even being a guest. Hampton Inn made me feel like a number, not a person. To the Hampton staff: You lacked warmth, personality, and compassion. Robots collecting money. To Hilton Garden: You’ve got soul. Spirit. Excellence. 5 stars without a doubt. I understand they were renovating, but as of yesterday (March 15), the renovations were supposedly complete—yet the place still smelled bad, especially in the hallways. For the price we paid, I expected a better location, but it’s surrounded by what looks like abandoned hotels. Our room wasn’t up to par either—definitely not worth the cost. To make things worse, the staff was rude. This morning, while guests were trying to enjoy breakfast, an employee was already cleaning up—even though breakfast doesn’t end until 10 AM. This was around 8:45 AM! It was uncomfortable and unnecessary.

My tennis shoes gripped the tile floor at the entrance. There was a collection of hair behind the door that blew out as the door closed. Dog hair was all over the room. Hair was even in the shower. The television remote did not work. There were not enough towels for two people. And, there were spots all on the night stands and tables were there could have been food or drinks. There was no way this room was cleaned since the previous guests left.

Floors on first floor were constantly dirty with leaves and other small trash. The cleanliness standards here are awful and the folks are very ugly spirited as well as the hotel in a terrible location with seemingly homeless walking through constantly from the front 2 hotels. Staff, particularly the regular cook and Preston have horrible attitudes. I was jumped on for asking for milk and being in the already opened kitchen “before open”. I was treated very rudely by the cook and Preston as well as the reception lady at the desk with her head always covered. I refuse to stay at this location again. I am currently at another Hampton and the people here are wonderful. Day and night. The Augusta Hampton seems to forget, we are customers, not children. I stay in Hilton 70-80 percent or the year and never have I had an experience this horrible and embarrassing with staff. How backwords these people are.
