Worse, nastiest, dirtiest room ever. Never in my life, have I ever, stayed in a room so dirty. I don't care if it is a cheap place to stay. CLEAN your rooms. Or make sure they are clean. I don't just blame housekeeping, I blame management. You, management, should make sure your hotel is clean. Sheets were dirty, but made. Floor turned my daughter's feet black within 1hr. Cob webs on the ceiling. Tv was nasty. Looked like a drink was throw at the enterance and exit door. Nasty stuff on the curtain. Mirror on bathroom door and in the room on the wall was nasty. Dust on lamp shades. Burn holes on the covers. Hair in between the sheets. And the list goes on. I will, forever, make any hotel let me see my room frist. I will never stay at Red Roof Inn, anywhere in the USA again.
As Georgians, we appreciate value, convenience, and a comfortable place to stay when we travel, whether it's for a quick business trip, a family visit, or an event like the Masters Tournament in our beloved city of Augusta. When exploring lodging options, you might come across the Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road, a budget-friendly hotel aiming to provide essential accommodations for travelers.
Augusta, nestled along the Savannah River, is a city rich in history, culture, and, of course, golf. It's a place where Southern charm meets significant events, attracting visitors from all over. Hotels like the Red Roof Inn often serve as a practical base for those looking to explore the city's offerings without breaking the bank. Located on one of Augusta's main thoroughfares, Washington Road, it positions itself as accessible to local attractions and business centers.
The Red Roof Inn brand is generally known for its no-frills approach, focusing on providing clean and comfortable rooms at an affordable price. This can be appealing for travelers on a budget or those simply needing a place to rest their heads after a long day. They often highlight features like pet-friendly policies and basic in-room amenities to cater to a broad range of guests.
However, it is crucial for any Georgian considering this hotel, or indeed any hotel, to be fully informed by recent guest experiences. The reality of a stay can sometimes differ significantly from what is advertised or expected from a well-known brand. For a property like the Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road, this distinction is particularly vital, as recent reviews from fellow travelers paint a very specific picture of their encounters.
This article will provide a factual and comprehensive overview of the Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road, covering its location, the services it purports to offer, its advertised features, and, most importantly, a candid look at the experiences of real customers. This information is designed to help you, as a local Georgian, make an informed decision about whether this hotel is the right choice for your next visit to Augusta.
The Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road is strategically located at 3030 Washington Rd Building A, Augusta, GA 30907, USA. Washington Road is a major commercial artery in Augusta, making the hotel quite accessible for those traveling by car and providing direct routes to many key destinations in the city.
Its position off I-20 (Exit 65) is a significant advantage for travelers, especially those driving through Georgia or commuting to different parts of Augusta. From this location, guests have relatively easy access to:
The area surrounding the hotel on Washington Road is primarily commercial, featuring various restaurants, shops, and other businesses. This means guests will have options for dining and necessities within close proximity, often without needing to venture far. The hotel also provides free self-parking, including space for trucks and RVs, which is a valuable amenity for road travelers.
While the location offers practical advantages for navigating Augusta, it's worth noting that being on a busy road can sometimes lead to ambient noise. However, for those prioritizing convenient access to major Augusta landmarks and thoroughfares, the Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road's location is a key selling point.
The Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road advertises a range of services typically found in budget-friendly hotels, aiming to provide essential amenities for a comfortable stay. However, it is imperative to cross-reference these advertised services with actual guest experiences, as recent reviews suggest significant discrepancies. Generally, the hotel is presented as offering:
The stark contrast between advertised services (like a functional pool and clean rooms) and the reality reported by multiple guests is a critical factor for anyone considering this hotel. Prospective guests should prepare for the possibility that advertised amenities may not be available or maintained to an acceptable standard.
The Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road, while categorized as a budget hotel, lists several features and highlights designed to provide convenience for its guests. However, as with services, customer reviews indicate that the actual condition and functionality of these features are a major concern. Here's a look at the typical features and the reported realities:
The "highlights" provided by the hotel's descriptions are starkly contradicted by guest reviews. Reports of "bugs," "grime," "hair in between the sheets," "cob webs on the ceiling," "nasty stuff on the curtain," "dirty mirrors," "dust on lamp shades," and "burn holes on the covers" paint a picture of severe lack of maintenance and cleanliness. The non-functioning items like broken TVs, phones, and toilets are critical failures of basic features. Therefore, while these items might be "featured," their operational status and cleanliness are highly questionable based on guest feedback.
Like most hotel chains, Red Roof Inn offers various promotions and discounts, which can be found through their official website, loyalty programs, or online travel agencies (OTAs). These promotions are generally aimed at providing value to budget-conscious travelers. Common types of offers you might encounter for Red Roof Inn properties, including the Augusta - Washington Road location, include:
However, it is paramount for prospective guests, especially those considering these promotions, to factor in the severe negative feedback regarding the actual condition of the hotel. One review explicitly mentions paying "$330 a night during the Masters" for a "CRAPPY hotel" with significant cleanliness and maintenance issues, indicating that even during high-demand periods, the value may not align with the cost, regardless of any potential discounts applied. While promotions aim to attract guests, the reported state of the property strongly suggests that any savings might come at a very high cost to comfort and satisfaction.
For inquiries, reservations, or to address any concerns regarding a stay at the Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road, you can reach them using the following contact details:
Given the extremely negative and consistent reviews regarding cleanliness, broken amenities, and rude customer service (e.g., "The lady at the desk laughed in my face and said, 'You're just lucky you get a good room'"), it is highly advisable to exercise extreme caution when communicating with this hotel. If you decide to proceed with a booking despite the warnings, it would be prudent to document all communications, especially regarding any specific requests or pre-existing issues, and to manage your expectations very carefully. Direct contact is available 24/7, but the effectiveness of that contact in resolving issues is questionable based on past guest experiences.
For Georgians considering a stay in Augusta, whether for business, events, or a quick local getaway, the ideal hotel offers a balance of convenience, comfort, and value. When it comes to the Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road, a candid assessment based on extensive customer reviews paints a picture that largely renders it unsuitable for local residents expecting even a basic standard of hospitality.
While its location on Washington Road provides excellent accessibility to key Augusta landmarks like the Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta Mall, and Fort Gordon (now Fort Eisenhower), and offers free parking—points that would typically appeal to local drivers—these logistical advantages are overwhelmingly overshadowed by critical issues of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. As Georgians, we take pride in our state's hospitality, and the experiences reported by multiple guests at this particular Red Roof Inn fall far short of acceptable standards.
The consistent reports of "worse, nastiest, dirtiest room ever," with details such as "dirty sheets," "bugs," "poop stains," "pubes," "grime," "cob webs," "nasty stuff on the curtain," and "burn holes on the covers," indicate a profound failure in basic hygiene and upkeep. Furthermore, critical amenities like the TV, phone, and toilet being "broken," and the advertised "pool" being "filled with trash and sewage water," are not merely inconveniences but fundamental failures that compromise guest comfort, safety, and even health. The notion of a "good room" being described with such severe issues is alarming.
Even considering its potential as a very budget-friendly option, the reviews suggest that the "cheap" price often comes at an unacceptable cost in terms of quality. The reported lack of empathy from staff and refusal of refunds for uninhabitable conditions ("They gave no refund and were rude when we checked in") are particularly troubling, as they demonstrate a disregard for guest satisfaction that is antithetical to good hospitality.
Therefore, for local Georgians seeking a clean, functional, and comfortable place to stay in Augusta, the overwhelming evidence from real customer experiences strongly suggests that the Red Roof Inn Augusta - Washington Road is not a suitable choice. Prioritizing genuine comfort, cleanliness, and reliable amenities from other establishments in the area would be a far more advisable decision to ensure a pleasant and worry-free stay in our great state.

Mar 28, 2025 · Amber ElderDO NOT STAY HERE. Worst hotel experience of my life. Felt like burning my clothes when I got home. There's bugs, there's poop stains, there's pubes, there's grime, and nothing worked!... The phone was broken, the tv was broken, the toilet was broken! There were stains and hair in the beds when we checked in. There was trash from the last guests still there. The floors were gross, and the shower had some sort of brown stain on the tub floor? Poop? They gave no refund and were rude when we checked in. I asked if they had a hot tub or pool when I checked in because the website said so. The lady at the desk laughed in my face and said, "You're just lucky you get a good room." The pictures are an example of what they consider a good room. Did I mention that the toilet didn't work? You guess what that smells like after a couple of bathroom trips and it not flushing for 3 days. The pool that they advertised on the website was filled with trash and sewage water, by the way. There was trash piled up on every trash can. I doubt this place has been cleaned in the last couple of months. We paid $330 a night during the masters and you couldn't pay me to come back. I'm considering calling some sort of heath inspector on this place.
Apr 13, 2025 · Kyle ScanlonThe people working there had no idea what rooms had people in them. They don’t clean the rooms. The first room they tried to put us in hadn’t been cleaned, the ceiling leaked. The trim looked like it might be under construction, but again they people working the desk had no ideas. The second room looked cleaner until you saw the sink and the bathroom, both of which hadn’t been cleaned. The sink even had a partially used bar of soap in it. The room we ended up in was ok. But not what we had booked. We booked a king room and ended up with 2 double beds. Overall it was the worst red roof inn I have ever stayed at.
May 31, 2025 · MelindaHonestly one of the dirtiest hotels I ever have stayed at. Yes, I understand that you get what you pay for. But that doesn’t mean you have to accept moldy coffee machines, visibly dirty beds, and dead bugs scattered throughout the floor of the bedroom and as soon as you open the door.
May 13, 2025 · Dylan AntczakThis is the worst hotel experience u have ever had. The room was very dirty. Either poop or blood smeared on the white lamp shade, hair all over the bath tub and ice bin, the ceiling is LEAKING, no smoke alarm. The door doesn’t even shut half way…. I was up all night because someone was yelling on the phone outside of my door. Which I heard every word because the door doesn’t shut. When I contacted Expedia (who I booked through), they offered to contact the hotel. The hotel claimed to be booked so they couldn’t get me a clean room…… and that was it. There’s less than 10 cars in this parking lot, it sure as heck isn’t booked. The pool is NOT in use as advertised. It doesn’t look like it has been cleaned in 10 years. It was green and had crap floating around in it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
