I have to remember that Hampton Inn is the name, and that the suites part is made up, and I'll do better here. So I guess that part is on me, to remember that they are just a hotel with hotel rooms, no matter how much they advertise differently. With that said, my room was clean, although small. Felt a little overpriced. The free breakfast wasn't really worth it. They have a strange pool policy, where you need wristbands, which I guess means they have had issues in the past... Which didn't give me the warm and fuzzies. So, if all you are looking for is a place to sleep in a clean room, here you go. If you are looking for a suite experience, do not book here.
For individuals and travelers in Farmington, Connecticut, or those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the greater Hartford area, the Hampton Inn & Suites Hartford/Farmington, located at 301 Colt Hwy, Farmington, CT 06032, USA, is a prominent option. The hotel can be contacted at (860) 674-8488 or via mobile at +1 860-674-8488. This introduction aims to provide an objective assessment of this hotel, incorporating its typical offerings as a Hampton Inn & Suites property and critically examining the detailed, yet somewhat contrasting, feedback provided by recent guests.
The "Hotels Near Of Me" search category is often utilized by people seeking convenient, reliable, and comfortable lodging. Hampton Inn & Suites, a Hilton brand, is generally known for offering consistent quality, complimentary breakfast, and a range of amenities designed for both business and leisure travelers. Its location on Colt Highway in Farmington positions it in a suburban area, likely offering good access to local corporate offices, universities, and regional attractions, making it a practical choice for various types of stays in the Hartford/Farmington corridor.
The environment of a Hampton Inn & Suites is typically designed to be bright, welcoming, and consistently clean. The common areas, such as the lobby, are usually well-maintained and offer comfortable seating for guests. The general aesthetic is modern and functional, aiming to provide a pleasant and hassle-free experience. The exterior would likely be consistent with brand standards, presenting a clean and well-kept appearance.
Customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the room environment. On one hand, a guest explicitly states, "my room was clean," and another effusively praises, "The cleanest hotel I’ve stayed at. The room meticulously cleaned." This indicates a strong commitment to cleanliness, which is a fundamental expectation for any hotel. However, one review also mentioned that the room was "small," leading to a feeling of being "overpriced" despite its cleanliness. This suggests that while the rooms are well-maintained, their size might not meet everyone's expectations for a "suites" designation, particularly when considering the pricing. The presence of a pool is noted, implying a recreational space within the hotel's environment, though the "strange pool policy, where you need wristbands," hints at past management issues or a need for stricter control, which might slightly detract from a completely relaxed atmosphere.
The overall environment, therefore, can be characterized by its commitment to cleanliness and a standard, comfortable setting, but with potential limitations in room spaciousness and a pool policy that might feel restrictive to some guests.
Hampton Inn & Suites properties are known for a core set of services, including complimentary breakfast and friendly staff. The customer reviews provide a mixed, yet ultimately positive, picture of the service at this specific location, with one exceptional highlight.
The "free breakfast" is a standard Hampton Inn service, but one guest found it "wasn't really worth it." This subjective assessment suggests that while the breakfast is offered, its quality or variety might not meet all guest expectations. This is a common point of variation across hotel chains that offer complimentary meals. Wi-Fi access is also a standard service expected in such a hotel, though no specific feedback on its performance was given.
However, the most striking aspect of the service is the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding specific staff members. One review raves, "First of all, from the moment I walked in Peta-Ann had such a welcoming presence. Her over the top customer service, management and way of running things is incredibly admirable! You don’t come across that often. I’ve stayed so many places but have yet to come across such hospitality." This level of personalized and exceptional service from individuals like Peta-Ann significantly elevates the guest experience and stands out as a major strength of the hotel. It indicates that despite any perceived shortcomings, the human element of service, particularly at the front desk, is a strong asset. Such enthusiastic commendation suggests a culture of hospitality, at least among certain staff members, that goes beyond standard expectations for a "Hotels Near Of Me" option.
The mention of the pool policy requiring wristbands, while a service feature, also implicitly suggests a management approach to ensure guest safety and control access, which can be seen as either a necessary regulation or a minor inconvenience depending on the guest's perspective.
Hampton Inn & Suites properties typically offer a consistent set of features. These commonly include a business center, a fitness center, and the aforementioned complimentary hot breakfast. The "Suites" in the name suggests that there should be rooms with more space, potentially including a separate living area or a sofa bed, differentiating them from standard hotel rooms. However, one review explicitly states, "I have to remember that Hampton Inn is the name, and that the suites part is made up, and I'll do better here. So I guess that part is on me, to remember that they are just a hotel with hotel rooms, no matter how much they advertise differently." This directly challenges the perception of "suites," suggesting that guests expecting truly separate living and sleeping areas might be disappointed. It indicates that the "suites" might primarily refer to larger, single-room accommodations rather than multi-room units.
Other general features would include in-room amenities like a flat-screen TV, a work desk, coffee maker, and comfortable bedding. The review stating "The room meticulously cleaned" highlights a key feature of the hotel's operation. The presence of a pool, while subject to a wristband policy, is still an available recreational feature. Free parking is a common and valued feature for hotels in suburban locations like Farmington, though it's not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, it's a general expectation for this brand outside of dense urban centers.
The "free breakfast" is a significant feature, despite one guest's lukewarm assessment, as the other describes it as "more than you imagine. Fantastic." This discrepancy might be due to individual preferences or variations in daily offerings, but it remains a core value-added feature. The overall impression of features is that they align with the Hampton Inn brand standard, but the "suites" aspect might be a point of misunderstanding for some guests expecting more extensive living spaces.
For the Hampton Inn & Suites Hartford/Farmington, promotional efforts for "Hotels Near Of Me" searches would primarily focus on its brand reliability and guest-centric offerings. Key promotional messages would likely include:
The hotel would likely use high-quality imagery of its clean rooms, lobby, and amenities, including the pool, to attract guests. Special packages for local events, corporate rates, or family stays might also be offered. Given the highly positive feedback on customer service, the hotel would do well to leverage testimonials and highlight its staff's dedication. However, it is also important for the hotel to manage guest expectations regarding the "suites" concept, potentially by using clearer descriptions of room layouts to avoid disappointment regarding space. For local users and travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the Hampton Inn & Suites Hartford/Farmington appears to offer a generally clean and reliable stay with a strong focus on customer service, despite some minor points of contention regarding room size and breakfast perception.

Apr 21, 2025 · Bella JayWe’ve stayed here twice while visiting family for Christmas. This is possibly the cleanest & friendliest staffed hotel we’ve ever stayed in around the world. Reasonably priced and a great value considering how much they offer. Literally every area of the hotel is sparkling clean. The breakfast is lovely, as is the large breakfast room & lobby. For Christmas they have a table with gift wrapping supplies! There is a beautiful pool, whirlpool & big workout gym. Dogs are allowed! 😃👍 There were many happy dogs & owners there for the holiday. Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience!
Dec 28, 2024 · Sue DavisWe just stayed for 10 nights at this hotel. My husband and I both agreed that this hotel was well run, clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. We saw the staff having a meeting each morning in the lobby and it really impressed us how enthusiastic everyone seemed. Plus every time we walked into the hotel, the desk staff was sure to say "welcome back".
