There is only one reason for the 4 stars, all thanks to Mike S at the front desk. Mike was very patient and understanding when I expressed my concerns. He did an excellent job accommodating my family and I. I decided to visit the front desk just to converse with Mike because he is such a nice person. Con’s: The room wasn’t up to standard. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way and you can tell the housekeepers rushed cleaning the room. I was missing sheets and a pillow. The breakfast water was cloudy and seem to have crumbs in it. I had 2 suites booked for 3 days but I decided to check out the next day

Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford-Farmington Introduce

For individuals and families seeking accommodation in the Farmington, Connecticut area, especially those requiring an extended stay, Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford-Farmington presents itself as a potential option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category. Located at 2 Farm Glen Blvd, Farmington, CT 06032, USA, this hotel aims to cater to guests needing more than a fleeting overnight stay. You can reach the hotel directly at (860) 321-0000 or via mobile at +1 860-321-0000.

As an extended stay hotel, Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford-Farmington is designed to offer more than just a typical hotel room. The concept behind an extended stay property is to provide guests with the comforts and conveniences of home, often including kitchenettes and separate living areas. However, based on recent customer reviews, the actual experience regarding the environment and cleanliness appears to be a significant concern for some guests. Multiple reviews explicitly highlight issues with cleanliness, stating, "Rooms are very dirty. Floors never get vacuumed. Hairs on bed sheets and bathroom. Fingerprints all over." Another review echoes this, mentioning, "The room wasn’t up to standard. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way and you can tell the housekeepers rushed cleaning the room." There was also a specific note about "a smell of dog urine which may be from the dog barking next door," indicating a potential issue with pet-related cleanliness and odor control. The fitness center and patio furniture were also described as dirty, leading to a general conclusion that the place is "dirty." This consistent feedback strongly suggests that the hotel's physical environment, particularly in terms of cleanliness, may not consistently meet expected standards for an extended stay, where guests are likely to spend more time in their rooms.

Regarding services, the feedback offers a notable contrast. While the physical environment receives critical remarks, the front desk staff consistently earns high praise. One reviewer unequivocally states, "Front desk staff is 5/5 however! Very friendly and helpful." Another guest specifically commends Mike S at the front desk, highlighting his patience, understanding, and excellent accommodation skills, even stating they "decided to visit the front desk just to converse with Mike because he is such a nice person." This indicates a strong positive aspect of the hotel's human interaction and customer service at the front desk, which can significantly influence a guest's overall experience, particularly when issues arise.

For an extended stay hotel, features often include complimentary breakfast. While Homewood Suites by Hilton typically offers this, a reviewer noted concerns about the quality of the breakfast water, describing it as "cloudy and seem to have crumbs in it." This suggests that even standard amenities might occasionally fall short of expectations in terms of presentation and hygiene. The design of extended stay rooms usually includes a fully equipped kitchen, but the provided reviews do not delve into specific details about kitchen facilities or other in-room amenities beyond the general mention of "suites." However, the lack of expected items like "missing sheets and a pillow" further reinforces concerns about attention to detail in room preparation.

The core concept of an extended stay hotel is to provide a home-away-from-home experience, but based on the provided customer feedback, there are significant inconsistencies in delivering this promise at Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford-Farmington. The issues surrounding room cleanliness, including unvacuumed floors, hairs on bedding and in bathrooms, fingerprints, and even pet odors, directly contradict the expectation of a comfortable and clean living space for a longer duration. These observations suggest that the hotel's operational practices, particularly in housekeeping, may be insufficient to maintain the standards expected of a Hilton property or an extended stay establishment.

From a promotional standpoint within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford-Farmington might appeal to travelers specifically seeking an all-suite format and the potential for a more home-like experience, coupled with the brand recognition of Hilton. The excellent front desk service, as highlighted by guests, could be a draw for those who value strong customer interaction and problem-solving. However, the consistent and severe feedback regarding cleanliness would be a critical factor for prospective guests to consider. For anyone planning an extended stay, the condition of the living space is paramount, and the reviews suggest that prospective guests should manage their expectations regarding the pristine condition of the rooms and common areas.

In summary, while Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford-Farmington, positioned within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, offers the advantage of dedicated and friendly front desk staff, particularly highlighted by guests, it appears to face significant challenges in maintaining a consistently clean and well-maintained environment. The feedback from real customers points to issues with room cleanliness, including unvacuumed floors, hairs, fingerprints, and even pet odors. Concerns were also raised about the bathroom door not closing properly and the quality of the breakfast water. These aspects directly impact the core promise of an extended stay hotel to provide a comfortable, home-like environment. Therefore, while the human element of service at the front desk is commendable, potential guests considering this hotel for an extended period should be aware of and potentially inquire about current measures being taken to address the reported cleanliness issues to ensure their stay meets their expectations for a clean and comfortable temporary home.

I travel a ton for work. Think I’ve stayed at every Hilton property in the Hartford area. Have not been to this one since last year and is worse than I remember. Rooms are very dirty. Floors never get vacuumed. Hairs on bed sheets and bathroom. Fingerprints all over. A smell of dog urine which may be from the dog barking next door. Fitness center is dirty. No towels. Patio furniture is dirty. Too sum this place up - dirty. Front desk staff is 5/5 however! Very friendly and helpful. The cleanliness is not unique to this Hilton property. They don’t staff or take the time to deep clean rooms like they should. When’s the last time you’ve seen a housekeeper with a vacuum at a Hilton property?

Definitely would not recommend this hotel, nothing but problems. Only good thing is the front desk staff was helpfuk for what they could do. Management and maintenance are the worse, we had so many problems with our room and hotel did nothing. Hotel needs better Management and upgrades. The outside was disgusting cigarette butts all over the entrance area. The patio area no keeps up with that area.

Check-in went smoothly, but as soon as I entered the hotel, a strong unpleasant smell hit me — and unfortunately, it stayed with me, getting even worse in the room. The fridge was very noisy, though that seems to be standard. The room itself was dirty in some spots, and overall, I didn’t feel like it was thoroughly cleaned. The bed was not very comfortable, and for the sake of future guests, I kindly suggest throwing away the old blanket I had. Also, I don’t understand why it’s not possible to simply use a proper duvet cover — it felt like wrapping meat in breadcrumbs. On the bright side, the breakfast was quite nice, especially the waffles. Don’t expect too much — and honestly, even for the price, I expected better quality.

Keep looking We’ve stayed at others Homewood Hilton before but this one was unfortunately a disappointment. The hotel itself is outdated and could need some repair and renovations. Tv control didn't work properly. The room was not clean. We noticed stains on the bed sheets and there were a bunch of hairs on it. The carpet had stains all over. The bathroom floor was dirty and everything seemed dusty. There seemed to be people that live or are long term residents. There were towels and trash on the hallway. The only positive side was the check in, the gentleman that checked us in was extremely courteous and helpful. Other than that, I would never stay there again.
