Definitely NOT up to Hilton Standard. This hotel is past due for MAJOR renovations. Frayed and stained carpets. Furniture that is from the 70s with paint stains. Drawer with missing handles. Missing smoke detectors. Stained ceiling tiles due to water leak. Elevator missing inspection certificate. Elevator floor display not showing what floor you're on. Light switch plate cover missing screw. Scuffed doors and walls. Accumulated dirt in corners. Mold in bathtub. The parking lot was dark and did not feel safe. The only good thing about this place was the two staff members we encountered at check-in and check out. They were friendly and professional. We did not have breakfast, but it looked like your average Hampton Inn. Will DEFINITELY not stay here again!
The Hampton Inn & Suites Providence/Warwick-Airport, located at 2100 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886, USA, is a lodging option frequently considered by individuals searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, especially those requiring convenient access to the Theodore Francis Green Memorial State Airport (PVD). The hotel, part of the well-known Hilton portfolio, can be reached directly via phone at (401) 739-8888 or mobile at +1 401-739-8888. However, prospective guests should be fully informed about the current state of the property, as reflected in recent customer reviews.
Customer feedback provides a notably critical assessment of the hotel's present condition. One guest explicitly stated, "Definitely NOT up to Hilton Standard. Will DEFINITELY not stay here again!" Another review further reinforces these concerns, noting, "Convenient location and friendly staff hence the 3 stars. The cleanliness is a different matter. The first room I checked into had ants crawling around the table. The front desk staff was helpful to switch me to a different room. As you can see from other reviews, several mention ants in their rooms. There needs to be a pest control company involved, if not already. Overall, the hotel and its furniture feels outdated and due to my experience with my first room, I did not feel very comfortable with the cleanliness through the rest of my stay." These detailed reviews highlight substantial deficiencies in terms of maintenance, cleanliness, and the overall physical upkeep of the property, which appears to fall short of the quality typically associated with the Hampton Inn brand.
The environment surrounding the Hampton Inn & Suites Providence/Warwick-Airport is primarily characterized by its immediate vicinity to T.F. Green Airport. This makes the hotel exceptionally convenient for air travelers, particularly those with early departures or late arrivals. Situated on Post Road, a significant commercial artery in Warwick, the hotel offers direct road access, simplifying travel for guests utilizing rental cars or taxi services. The surrounding area is predominantly commercial, featuring a variety of businesses, retail outlets, and dining establishments, alongside other hotels. While the setting is more functional than scenic, it provides practical access to the broader Warwick and Providence metropolitan areas. The hotel is within walking distance to the Airport Rental Car Hub, adding another layer of convenience for business and leisure travelers alike.
Warwick itself is a city with a blend of historical context and modern commercial activity. While the immediate neighborhood around the hotel serves utilitarian purposes related to airport operations and general commerce, the city offers connections to more appealing destinations. Historic downtown Providence, with its vibrant arts and culinary scene, is approximately 10 miles away. Iconic Rhode Island destinations like Newport are about 30 miles distant, and Foxwoods Casino is roughly 45 miles away, making them accessible for day trips. The reviews indicate a potential concern with the safety perception of the hotel's parking lot during darkness, suggesting that while the location offers convenience, guests might need to be mindful of their surroundings. The overall environment is geared towards transient travelers and those conducting business in the region.
As a Hampton Inn & Suites, the hotel is designed to offer a set of standard services common to the brand, though the customer reviews suggest that the overall guest experience is significantly influenced by the property's condition. Key services typically provided include:
Complimentary Hot Breakfast: A signature amenity of Hampton Inn, a free hot breakfast buffet is generally offered daily. While one reviewer noted it "looked like your average Hampton Inn" breakfast, it remains a consistent offering, typically available from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on weekdays and 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM on weekends.
24-hour Airport Shuttle Service: This is a crucial service for an airport-adjacent hotel, providing complimentary transportation to and from T.F. Green Airport at any time.
Free Wi-Fi: Guests can expect complimentary Wi-Fi and wired internet access throughout the hotel, including in guest rooms and common areas, which is essential for both business and leisure travelers.
Indoor Pool and Fitness Center: The hotel generally advertises an indoor heated swimming pool and a fitness center, offering recreational and exercise options. However, information indicates that the fitness facilities, along with a bar/lounge, are closed seasonally each year, from March 20 to December 31, which is important for guests planning to use these amenities.
Business Center and Meeting Facilities: The hotel provides a business center for guest use and approximately 1,217 square feet of flexible meeting space across two rooms (Hillsgrove Room and Sholes Boardroom), accommodating small to medium-sized meetings and events.
Pet-Friendly Policy: The hotel welcomes pets (dogs and cats, up to two per room), with an associated fee of USD 75 per accommodation, per stay (maximum USD 125 per stay), plus a one-time cleaning fee of USD 250.00. Service animals are exempt from these charges.
Exceptional Staff: A consistent highlight in the provided reviews is the hotel staff. Guests commend them as "friendly and professional" and "helpful to switch me to a different room." This indicates that despite the property's challenges, the staff strives to deliver good customer service and address guest concerns effectively, which is a significant positive factor.
Other amenities include a 24-hour front desk, laundry facilities (including coin-operated options), luggage storage, a shared microwave, and vending machines for guest convenience.
The features of the Hampton Inn & Suites Providence/Warwick-Airport, as extensively detailed in guest feedback, reveal a property that is significantly dated and in need of substantial renovation.
Evident Wear and Tear: Reviews consistently describe "frayed and stained carpets," "furniture that is from the 70s with paint stains," "scuffed doors and walls," and "accumulated dirt in corners." This points to a general lack of recent refurbishment and a property that has not kept up with modern hotel standards.
Significant Maintenance Deficiencies: Critical issues such as "missing smoke detectors," "stained ceiling tiles due to water leak," a "dark" and unsafe-feeling parking lot, "mold in bathtub," and problems with the elevator (missing inspection certificate, non-functioning floor display) are reported. These concerns raise questions about guest safety and comfort.
Pest Issues: The recurring mention of "ants crawling around the table" and "several mention ants in their rooms" indicates a persistent pest control challenge that has impacted guest comfort and cleanliness perception.
Standard Room Amenities: Despite the overall condition, guest rooms are equipped with standard amenities such as a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, phone with voicemail and data ports, and a 42-inch LCD cable TV with complimentary movie channels. These are functional elements, but their utility might be overshadowed by the other reported issues.
Accessibility Features: The hotel does offer accessible rooms and facilities, including wheelchair-accessible parking, demonstrating efforts to accommodate guests with disabilities.
Proximity to Dining: The hotel's location offers convenience to several dining options, with some within walking distance (e.g., Tavolo Wine Bar and Tuscan Grille, Chelo's, Bertucci's), providing easy access to meals outside the hotel's breakfast service.
While the core features associated with the Hampton Inn brand (e.g., complimentary breakfast, indoor pool, fitness center, free Wi-Fi) are available, their presentation and the overall comfort level are significantly compromised by the extensive maintenance and cleanliness issues reported. The hotel was built in 2000 and was last renovated in 2018, with a stated plan for renovation in 2025, which, if completed, could address these concerns.
For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the Hampton Inn & Suites Providence/Warwick-Airport's primary appeal remains its exceptional logistical convenience to T.F. Green Airport. Any promotional information would typically emphasize:
Unbeatable Airport Access: Highlighting its direct proximity to PVD airport and the provision of a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle service as a key differentiator for air travelers.
Core Brand Amenities: Promoting the inclusion of free hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and access to the indoor pool and fitness center as value-added benefits that are standard for Hampton Inn properties, though guests should verify the current operational status of all facilities (e.g., seasonal closures of fitness center and bar/lounge).
Friendly and Professional Staff: Capitalizing on the positive feedback regarding staff professionalism and helpfulness, which stands out as a strong point amidst other criticisms.
Strategic Location for Regional Exploration: Mentioning its relatively easy access to key Rhode Island attractions like downtown Providence, Newport, and Foxwoods Casino, appealing to those using it as a base for wider regional travel.
Direct Booking Advantages: Encouraging potential guests to book directly via phone ((401) 739-8888 or +1 401-739-8888) for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding room availability, current conditions, and any ongoing renovation efforts.
However, it is crucial for any objective introduction to acknowledge the consistent and significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews regarding the hotel's outdated condition, cleanliness, and maintenance issues. Prospective guests should weigh the benefits of its convenient location and friendly staff against the potential discomfort arising from the reported deficiencies in the property's physical state. It is advisable for guests to inquire directly about the hotel's most current condition and any specific renovation timelines before making a reservation to ensure their expectations align with the reality of the property.

May 06, 2025 · Anny ZhengThe service and the location are good, but unfortunately, they were somewhat overshadowed by a couple of things. For one thing, the screen on our first story window was cut out as if by a knife and the lock was questionable. It was as if it had been broken into in the past and not fixed. The thing that was the most irritating was that both times we went to enjoy the jacuzzi, there were parents with their children and toddlers well below the age limit occupying it. It was obnoxious. Clearly, the pool rules are not enforced at all. Management should do a better job with that. The pool was also dirty. The continental breakfast was very good. Overall it's a nice place but it needs some tuning up.
Apr 15, 2025 · Connor PriceEverything was great. All staff I had encounters with (front desk and breakfast crew) were friendly and helpful. The King Suite I stayed in was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The only issue was that my 7yr old who had been waiting for the pool to open, had to wait some extra time, which caused her to become upset as the pool was supposed to be opened and ready for 9:30am and wasn't ready until 11:00am. Once the pool was ready, we were able to enjoy it to ourselves, which was nice. The hot tub was huge and the water was nice and hot. The pool water was comfortable. Morning breakfast was what I expected, like all Hampton Inns. There was always plenty of food available. Other than the minor issue wth the pool, absolutely no complaints or issues. Definitely would stay again.
Feb 04, 2025 · Mary LynnMy two girls and I stayed at this Hampton inn to attend a cheer competition at the Providence convention center. I loved that the hotel was in a relatively quiet area despite being next to the airport. The room was nice and big, clean and the hotel staff was nice. My only complaint is the room heat would either be constantly running making it hot in the room or not running at all meaning it was cold. I just chalk that up to a me issue though. I 100% will be staying here again during our next RI visit.
