Lovely hotel! Actually used the word “well-appointed” during our stay. Had the best-the very best- cheesecake, we had ever had while there! Not sure what was better, the cheesecake or the fruit on it, but it was amazing. So was Victoria, who served us! Was not expecting live music but it was there and super fun. I think the man at the front desk was CJ, and he was great too! Spent some time just sitting by the fireplace in the lobby just to unwind. It’s family-friendly place and was nice to see people with their kids. Big comfortable room. We were visiting an old friend who lives in the area and will definitely go back to this place.

As long time Hilton Honors members whenever we are out east on Long Island we stay at Hilton Garden inn in Riverhead. . In the past we have been pleased with our stays However on our last stay on May of this year we where appalled at what transpired . We arrived at the hotel early so we sat in the lounge until our room was ready . When the manager saw me he stopped me and asked me if a women checked in under my name in December A little confused by the question I asked my wife to join us so she could help figure this out My wife confirmed that we in fact stayed on those dates Hearing this the hotel manager proceeded to tell us that we where on the no rent list and had to leave basically throwing us out . When I asked the manager why he proceeded to tell us about the incident that occurred on our last say. Which was an incident with a cleaning women. What transpired was while in the room the cleaning women without knocking barged in and startled my wife . When my wife proceeded to try and communicate with her she didn’t understand a word of English which made the situation worse . On that my wife went to the front desk and upset she complained about the barge in and the fact that she couldn’t communicate with the cleaning women. The women at the front desk only response was that my wife was prejudice . No compassion nothing . With that not to escalate the situation we left didn’t file a complaint which we should have . Fast forward to our recent stay the same women was present at the discussion with the manager and again blurted out you’re prejudice and discriminating . This was far from what we where doing . This situation was clearly between the women at the front desk and my wife. The cleaning women didn’t file a complaint she couldn’t she didn’t understand any English With this we took our things and left When I contacted Hilton corporate their response was every Hilton has there own protocol so they won’t get involved With that I cancelled my membership and moved across the street to a Marriott hotel less expensive way nicer rooms and everyone I spoke to spoke English

I was going to give it three stars for being solidly mediocre. Ambiance of this place hits you on the nose straight up with the smell of chlorinated pool water permeating the lobby. The pool availability also encourages some guests walk around in what can barely pass for swimwear, dripping water and leaving wet towels in the hallways. Klasse! Room design does it best to replicate that of Scandinavia, but only of their minimum security prison sense. Smallish mini fridge, miniscule microwave, spotty Wi-Fi, the TV in the room has the skimpiest lineup and weak signal. Badly designed walk-in shower. That's where this review would have ended, we're it not for lack of hot water on the second morning of our stay. Don't get me wrong - it took over 10 minutes for the shower water to warn up on morning 1, but on second day it didn't get warm for ~20 minutes. Maybe one needs to stay in the shower longer to get the water to warm up - I had no time, nor confidence in the eventual success to stay and find out. But that's what ate another 2 stars. If you can't manage to provide hot showers, maybe hotel business ain't for you.

I gave them two starts because the room was exceptional. The room was great and so was the service. My complaint is that the hotel is under renovations and nobody wants us before checking in. My son really wanted to go to the pool but of course the pool was out of service. We were told to use the outdoor pool that is heated but the only way to get to it is thru the main lobby out the door walk to the gate that was locked and my key didn't open it. You know walking on the hotel on your bathing suit is a bad idea? The hallways and lobby are full of construction workers. How was I supposed to use the other pool? How am I supposed to get to it. My son was very disappointed. If the hotel is doing renovations and the facilities aren't available the should send an email in advance. This was a terrible experience

The hotel is currently under renovations which is not totally terrible, just a little messy. They still have the restaurant and food. It's off to the side. Our biggest issue was with the service. It's our second time staying here when we had trouble with them giving us our digital key, takes way longer than it should. Every other Hilton establishment gives you your digital key. Essentially, before you're on the property. This place waits to the very last second which is troubling when you get up to your room and don't have a key. I also got to my room and didn't have the expected water as they usually leave there. So I went down and asked for it and I got what I'd consider a dirty look from the young woman at the desk. She did hand me the bag, but it's not what I'd expect when traveling with a diamond member.
