Located at 2012 Old Country Rd, Riverhead, NY 11901, USA, this Marriott property caters to guests looking for comfort, convenience, and a range of amenities beyond a standard hotel room. Environment and Ambiance:
The Residence Inn Long Island East End projects an inviting and contemporary environment, designed to offer a comfortable and functional atmosphere for both short and extended stays. As an all-suite hotel, the ambiance aims for a residential feel, providing guests with more space and a sense of "home away from home." The lobby and public areas are typically modern, clean, and well-maintained, creating a welcoming first impression. One guest review specifically praised the cleanliness "upon entrance." The property offers a good amount of free parking in both the front and rear, which contributes to a convenient and stress-free arrival. While the general atmosphere is designed to be pleasant, some reviews allude to possible inconsistencies, such as a guest reporting a bug from the couch, which, while potentially isolated, highlights a point of vigilance for the hotel. However, the overall impression from multiple reviews points to a generally well-kept and comfortable environment. The hotel's location on Old Country Road places it in a commercial area, offering easy access to major roads and local attractions, yet still providing a sense of a suburban retreat rather than a bustling urban setting. The presence of outdoor spaces like a patio with a fireplace, as commonly found at Residence Inn properties, further enhances the relaxed ambiance.
Services and Amenities:
The Residence Inn Long Island East End offers a comprehensive suite of services and amenities, characteristic of the extended-stay brand. A major draw is the complimentary breakfast, which receives consistent high praise from guests for being "good compared to other hotels" and offering "so much variety." Specific commendations were given to items like quiche and homemade waffles, with positive remarks about the attentive and polite staff, including "a set of twins that bugs everyone out" (in a charming way, implying memorable and energetic service) and a "young lady" who "kept the areas stocked and clean." This highlights a strong commitment to guest satisfaction in the dining area. For recreation, the hotel features both an indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool, along with two hot tubs. While one review noted the indoor pool was "warm and fun," it was also mentioned that it might be "a bit over chlorinated" causing children's eyes to be red. The fitness center (gym) is described as "decent and clean." All suites come with fully equipped kitchens, including a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, and dishwasher, along with cookware, dishes, and utensils, which is invaluable for extended stays and allows guests to prepare their own meals. Other standard amenities include free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property, a 24-hour business center, and laundry facilities. The hotel is also pet-friendly, accommodating guests traveling with their animal companions, though specific fees and restrictions (e.g., under 10lbs) may apply. Despite largely positive feedback, one guest experienced issues with water pressure, a non-functioning bathroom vent, and a faulty thermostat, coupled with a perceived lack of concern from the front desk, indicating that while service is generally good, occasional issues with maintenance and responsiveness can occur.
Features and Highlights:
The defining feature of Residence Inn Long Island East End is its all-suite concept, providing guests with spacious accommodations that include separate living, sleeping, and dining areas. This design makes it particularly suitable for families, business travelers on long assignments, or anyone desiring more space and the convenience of in-room cooking facilities. The fully equipped kitchens are a major highlight, enabling guests to save on dining costs and enjoy home-cooked meals. The complimentary hot breakfast, frequently lauded by guests, adds significant value to the stay. The combination of an indoor and seasonal outdoor pool, along with two hot tubs, provides versatile recreational options year-round. The hotel's location is another key feature, especially for shoppers, as it is "definitely the hotel to stay at" if "trying to shop at the outlets" (referring to Tanger Outlets Riverhead, which is approximately one mile away). It's also conveniently located for major attractions like Splish Splash Water Park (about three miles away) and the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center. The free and ample parking is a practical benefit for guests traveling by car. The hotel also boasts significant meeting and event space, including a ballroom, making it suitable for corporate events or social gatherings, which further diversifies its offerings beyond typical leisure stays. The property was built in 2017, suggesting a relatively new construction and modern infrastructure.
Promotional Information and Target Audience:
The Residence Inn Long Island East End actively targets a diverse range of guests, with a strong emphasis on extended-stay travelers, families, and those seeking value with added amenities. Its promotional messaging would center on the "home away from home" experience offered by its spacious suites with full kitchens. For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," it would highlight its convenient location near major attractions like Tanger Outlets, Splish Splash, and the Long Island Aquarium, positioning itself as a family-friendly hub for exploring the East End. Business travelers would be drawn by the complimentary Wi-Fi, dedicated workspaces within suites, and the 24-hour business center. The complimentary hot breakfast is a significant promotional point for all demographics. The dual pool options and fitness center would appeal to leisure travelers and those looking to maintain their routines. Given some of the review feedback, promotional material might implicitly or explicitly address commitments to high standards of cleanliness and guest service, reinforcing their brand promise. Membership in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program offers additional incentives and benefits for repeat guests. Special packages for families, shoppers, or those attending local events would also be part of its marketing strategy, emphasizing comfort, convenience, and value in the heart of Long Island's Riverhead area.

Stayed here for a few days. Great amount of free parking in the front and rear very clean upon entrance. The rooms are nice, had 2 bugs pay a visit and one came from the couch so that was my only moment of concern. Breakfast is good compared to other hotels and the selection is appreciated, what is more appreciated are the individuals that ran the Breakfast...one is a set of twins that bugs everyone out and another was a young lady, when I say polite and kept the areas stocked and clean...I wish them the best!!! The gym is decent and clean as well. The huge plus is if you are trying to shop at the outlets, this is definitely the hotel to stay at.
Apr 25, 2025 · Isis ChestnutSo disappointed in our stay cation this year. We had terrible water pressure in the shower which caused delays in the bathroom and getting ready for our day/ dinner.... the bathroom vent did not work, so steam and moisture into the bedroom. The thermostat did not function so we had no way of controlling the room temperature. I called the front desk and they said they would address it... not at all concerned about how our night went. Thankfully it wasn't too cold at night. Disappointed at the lack of response to the issues when approached the front desk in person. Could just be we got a faulty room, but we'll choose to stay elsewhere next time. I will say the indoor pool was warm and fun, probably a bit over chlorinated as my children's eyes were red afterwards, Also, the breakfast was great! So much variety and pleasant wait staff. Our favorite were the quiche and delicious homemade waffles
Mar 26, 2025 · Rosanne SchiffI don’t have enough good things to say about my experience. The staff was amazing. The rooms were so clean and spacious. I was worried that my dog would be anxious or that it would be noisy but I think my dog felt more at home there than in his actual home! The breakfast was out of this world. I expected cereal, oatmeal, and coffee which would be a normal hotel breakfast. They had multiple options of eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereal, muffins, pastries, egg sandwiches, oatmeal with like 10 different options as far as toppings. Outside was beautiful. Me and my dog enjoyed many walks around the hotel. I could go on and on about my stay. I’m not one to take time to write a review(even though I should more often) but I just needed to let others know you won’t be disappointed if you book here.
May 04, 2025 · Beth CaroleoI've stayed here multiple times. The rooms are decent, the free breakfast spread is fantastic. The location is one you'll either love or hate. If you're heading west onto the LIE, it's perfect—less than a mile from the on-ramp. Unfortunately, if you need to head east toward Riverhead, you can only turn right onto Old Country Road and have to deal with an awkward U-turn about 3-4 miles west.
Apr 21, 2025 · Fluffette KatzBeautiful hotel. Helpful and educated staff. Very professional and made our stay very comfortable. Breakfast was above and beyond for free breakfast, and great tasting coffee. Extremely helpful breakfast staff, do not know his name but he stood out. Our daughter is diabetic and he helped us way more than he needed to, he went out of his way to get the carbs on everything for me. Front desk staff also helped me to find alcohol pads for my diabetic daughter and were gratuitous and kind. Scott the manager went out of his way to leave something special in our room and was welcoming and warm and treated us like family. He very much pays attention to the details and clearly wants everyone to have the best experience, a very dedicated and hands on manager. It was very Beautiful and high end for a Marriott, which largely is attributed to there awesome staff And management. 110% will be staying here again.
