When we arrived the one bed in the room had clearly been slept in and there was a pile of dirty towels in the bathroom. There was only one person working in a fully booked hotel! He was nice but unable to provide clean sheets for the bed. When we got home, i called on Monday 5/5 spoke to the manager who told me they gave me 2000 points on my reward account which isn't even worth $5. After i told her that was unacceptable, she hung up on me. I then called the 1800 number and filed a formal complaint. They said they would be in touch. I called today since i have not heard anything, they said there was nothing they could do but give me more points. I told them they are useless to me as we are not planning any trips. I asked for a refund on our debit card, they told me they couldn't do that. I am appalled at the service we received and will think twice about staying at another holiday inn!
For individuals searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for accommodations in Bradford, PA, the Holiday Inn Express Bradford by IHG is a frequent listing. Located at 30 Tarport Dr Ext, Bradford, PA 16701, USA, and reachable at (814) 362-7090 or +1 814-362-7090, this hotel aims to provide a reliable and comfortable stay for various types of travelers. Its inclusion in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category highlights its local presence and direct accessibility for those seeking lodging in the Bradford area.
The environment of the Holiday Inn Express Bradford by IHG is typical of a modern chain hotel, situated in a convenient location just off the main road. While not offering a secluded or picturesque setting, its placement provides easy access to local attractions and business centers. The hotel is generally within close proximity to points of interest such as the Zippo/Case Visitors Center, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and the Allegheny National Forest, making it a practical base for exploring the region. The area around the hotel is generally commercial, providing convenience for dining and other services, though it does not offer a unique natural or historical ambiance.
In terms of services and amenities, the Holiday Inn Express brand is known for providing a consistent set of offerings designed for efficiency and comfort. Guests typically receive a complimentary Express Start™ Breakfast bar, which usually includes a variety of hot and cold options like eggs, bacon/sausage, biscuits, gravy, fresh fruit, yogurt, and coffee. The hotel commonly features an indoor heated pool, which is a popular amenity, especially for families or during colder months. A 24-hour fitness center is also usually available for guests to maintain their exercise routines. All rooms are generally equipped with complimentary high-speed wired and wireless internet access, a flat-screen TV with premium channels, a work desk, coffee maker, iron/ironing board, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Business travelers can utilize the business center, which often includes a computer and printer, and meeting facilities for small gatherings. The hotel typically offers free parking on site, and some locations are pet-friendly, though specific pet policies would need to be verified at the time of booking.
However, an objective introduction must also address significant concerns raised by recent customer reviews, which critically impact the perception of the hotel's services and overall quality. A review from May 2025 details a highly unsatisfactory experience upon arrival, where the booked room had "clearly been slept in" and contained "a pile of dirty towels in the bathroom." The reviewer reported that only one person was working in a "fully booked hotel," who, despite being nice, was "unable to provide clean sheets for the bed." Subsequent attempts to resolve the issue with the manager resulted in an inadequate offer of 2000 reward points (valued at less than $5) and the manager hanging up when the guest expressed dissatisfaction. Further attempts through the IHG 1-800 number yielded similar unhelpful responses, with staff stating "nothing they could do but give me more points" and refusing a debit card refund. This experience points to severe issues with room cleanliness, understaffing, and a concerning lack of effective customer service or problem resolution at both the hotel and corporate levels.
Another review from January 2025 describes an "Absolutely Horrible Experience" and advises potential guests to "Stay Away." This traveler booked a King Suite with a sofa bed but was provided a King Suite without one, a critical detail for their personal needs. The room also had a "horrible, musty odor" that necessitated sleeping with the window open. When attempting to resolve the issue, the front desk offered only two options: stay in the incorrect, smelly room or find another hotel, with "no apology" and "just indifference." The morning manager, Kim, was described as "sarcastic and unprofessional," laughing off the missing sofa bed, dismissing the odor as due to "renovations," and refusing a partial refund by stating the guest "paid for the square footage—not the sofa bed." This account underscores serious problems with booking accuracy, room condition, and a highly unprofessional and dismissive approach to guest complaints from management.
From a features perspective, while Holiday Inn Express properties are designed for efficiency and a modern, refreshed feel, these reviews indicate that the Bradford location may not consistently deliver on these promises. The discrepancy between a booked room type and what is provided, combined with severe cleanliness issues and unpleasant odors, suggests a significant lapse in operational standards. The brand's promise of a "simple, smart travel" experience is clearly undermined by these accounts of fundamental service failures and a lack of accountability.
Promotional information for Holiday Inn Express by IHG typically emphasizes its reliability, comfortable beds, free breakfast, and convenient locations, positioning itself as a smart choice for travelers. However, the firsthand accounts of guests experiencing dirty rooms, incorrect bookings, unaddressed odors, and hostile management responses present a stark counter-narrative. For local users searching via "Hotels Near Of Me," the Holiday Inn Express Bradford by IHG might appear as a convenient and recognizable brand. However, it is imperative for prospective guests to be fully aware of the documented negative experiences, as these issues concerning cleanliness, booking accuracy, and staff professionalism are critical factors that could significantly detract from their stay. While the hotel's location offers proximity to Bradford's attractions, the reported operational and customer service deficiencies are considerable risks that should be carefully weighed against the advertised benefits and brand recognition.

May 08, 2025 · Jessica GruverAbsolutely Horrible Experience – Stay Away If I could give zero stars, I would. We drove over 11 hours from Fayetteville, NC to Bradford, PA, and arrived at the Holiday Inn Express around midnight, exhausted and ready to rest. We had specifically booked a King Suite with a sofa bed—a critical detail given our personal needs. Instead, we were given a King Suite without a sofa bed. The room also had a horrible, musty odor that was so bad we had to sleep with the window open all night just to breathe. When I went to the front desk, I was told my only options were to either stay in the room as-is or go find another hotel—which was not even an option in this area at that hour. No apology. No solution. Just indifference. In the morning, I spoke with Kim, the morning manager, hoping for some understanding or accountability. Instead, I was met with sarcasm and unprofessionalism. She laughed off the missing sofa bed and, without knowing our situation, dismissively said, “Well, there is a bed in the room.” When I mentioned the odor, she blamed it on renovations and told me to “bear with it.” When I requested a partial refund for not receiving the room we paid for, she smugly told me I paid for the square footage—not the sofa bed—and refused to make it right. This is unacceptable service. We were disrespected, misled, and completely disregarded as guests. Save yourself the stress—do not stay here
Apr 30, 2025 · Albeiro FlorezI just want to thank Jill and Jen for wonderful customer service this weekend! Several of my family members had a few rooms for a family event. The Holiday Inn was very accommodating and super friendly. I would highly recommend them and stay there every time we visit Bradford.
Jan 19, 2025 · Mark WeinbergI’ve stayed in quite a few Holiday Inn express locations over the last decade and usually they’re very clean and modern enough for me. This one however, needs an update.. The first room they gave me smelled like somebody just smoked a cigarette in it. The second room had stains on the floors and stains on the furniture. The bathroom sink drain was broken. I didn’t even want to try the breakfast that I have previously enjoyed at other Holiday Inn express locations. This is like a best Western.
Jan 04, 2025 · KeaneStayed here while working in the area. The desk was surprisingly charismatic. Clean and breakfast bar that's fresh. The only knocks I can give this is the train passing by which most places here has that, the driveway could be better marked at the main road.
