The front desk folks were super friendly. Location was fine. And the check in area seemed clean and tidy. Breakfast was meh. You could hear everyone in all the other rooms. The bathroom smelled like cigarettes. And, here are the worst parts: 1) There was a...hair stuck under the toilet seat (that was left up). 2) The toiletries were half used, but even worse, there was someone else's makeup smeared all over one of the toiletry bottles. 3) I was awoken at 3 am by a loud bang that sounded like someone running into my door, but then nothing. I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. I was booked for 3 nights, but only stayed for one. Would not recommend. Only rated service as 3 because, while staff at the desk was friendly, whoever was cleaning the rooms was not that great.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Atlantic City metropolitan area, the Homestead Apart-Hotel in Pleasantville, New Jersey, often emerges as an option, particularly for those seeking more than a standard hotel room. Located at 701 Black Horse Pike, Pleasantville, NJ 08232, USA, and reachable at (609) 646-5515 or +1 609-646-5515, this property distinguishes itself with its apartment-style accommodations, aiming to provide a 'home away from home' experience. It caters to travelers looking for extended stays or those who appreciate the convenience of in-room kitchen facilities.
The Homestead Apart-Hotel is situated on Black Horse Pike, a major commercial artery in Pleasantville. This location offers excellent accessibility for guests traveling by car, with direct access to US Routes 40 and 322. The surrounding environment is predominantly commercial, featuring a mix of other hotels, local businesses, and dining options. While it does not boast scenic views or a tranquil, secluded setting, its practical location is a significant advantage for guests who need easy access to Atlantic City's casinos and attractions, which are just a short drive away (approximately 10-15 minutes). The immediate vicinity provides convenience for quick errands and dining. Ample free parking is available on-site, a standard amenity for properties in this area. The exterior of the hotel is functional, typical of an extended-stay property, focusing on utility rather than elaborate aesthetics.
The Homestead Apart-Hotel aims to provide a range of services designed for guest comfort and convenience, especially for longer stays. A key service highlighted is the complimentary breakfast, typically continental, which includes items like waffles, juice, and coffee. However, guest reviews often indicate that the breakfast offerings can be limited, and replenishment may be inconsistent, leading to dissatisfaction. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the property, ensuring guests can stay connected for work or leisure. A 24-hour front desk is available to assist with check-in, check-out, and guest inquiries. Other services commonly available include dry cleaning/laundry services and self-serve laundry facilities, which are highly beneficial for guests on extended trips. Housekeeping service is generally provided once per stay, or on request, rather than daily, aligning with the "apart-hotel" concept. The staff at the front desk are frequently praised in reviews for being friendly, helpful, and accommodating, demonstrating a commitment to guest service despite other reported issues with the property's condition.
The defining feature of the Homestead Apart-Hotel is its apartment-style rooms, which come equipped with full kitchens or kitchenettes. These typically include a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, microwave, and dishwasher, along with essential dishes and cooking utensils. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which can lead to significant cost savings compared to dining out, especially for families or longer visits. Rooms are air-conditioned and include a flat-screen TV with premium cable channels and a DVD player. Other in-room amenities generally comprise a desk, dining table, safe, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers. Some rooms may even feature jacuzzi tubs, offering an added element of relaxation. The hotel also boasts an indoor swimming pool and a sauna, providing recreational opportunities for guests to unwind. A fitness center is also listed among the amenities, allowing guests to maintain their exercise routines. While the presence of a full kitchen and recreational facilities are strong features, several guest reviews consistently highlight that the rooms and amenities are "outdated and very old," indicating a need for significant renovation. Issues reported include strong smells in the bathroom (e.g., cigarettes), signs of inadequate cleaning (e.g., hair stuck under toilet seat, smeared makeup on toiletries), and non-functional in-room items such as TVs (blamed on the cable company) or jacuzzi tubs. Noise transfer between rooms is also a recurring complaint, with guests reporting being able to hear occupants in adjacent rooms and above them.
As an independent or smaller chain property, specific promotional information for Homestead Apart-Hotel beyond standard booking site listings can be less prominent compared to larger national chains. However, like most hotels, they would likely offer varying rates based on demand, seasonality, and length of stay. Guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" may find:
It is important for potential guests to be aware that while the hotel advertises features like a full kitchen, indoor pool, and sauna, the condition and functionality of these amenities, as well as the overall cleanliness and maintenance, have been subject to numerous negative reviews. Some reviews indicate the pool or hot tub may be closed for maintenance. Therefore, while promotional offers might make the stay more attractive economically, guests should manage their expectations regarding the condition of the facilities and the consistency of services based on recent feedback. It is always recommended to read the most recent reviews and perhaps call the hotel directly to confirm the operational status of key amenities before booking.
In summary, Homestead Apart-Hotel in Pleasantville, NJ, presents itself as a practical option for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" with the convenience of apartment-style living and in-room kitchens, along with amenities like an indoor pool and sauna. Its location provides easy access to Atlantic City. While the friendly staff are a consistent positive, recent guest reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the outdated condition of rooms and facilities, cleanliness issues, noise disturbances, and inconsistent service delivery, particularly concerning breakfast and amenity functionality. Therefore, while it may offer a budget-friendly and self-catering solution, potential guests should set their expectations accordingly and consider the reported deficiencies when making a booking decision.

Mar 12, 2025 · Noah MEverything in the room was outdated and very old. The TV did not work for 3 nights We talked to a person by the name of Josh at the front desk. He blamed it on the cable company. It was clear skies the entire time we stayed. Breakfast oh well. Judge for yourself. There was a child running on the top of us the entire weekend. We complained. Nothing was done. I gave 1 star because the room was clean.
May 08, 2025 · Denice BThe worst ig I can rate it a 0 I would rate this place a 0. I stood here for 3 days and 2 nights . Let me just tell you guys it was the worse !. On Friday at 11pm I check in with the front desk. They said I have to pay $100 deposit. After I just paid for the hotel . I asked why am I paying a deposit if on the website I don’t see no policy stating that when you check in you have to pay a deposit. They said it’s on the website . So I just paid the deposit no issue . I checked in so late so once I got there I went to sleep . I didn’t check if the room was clean or anything I just end up falling asleep. The next day I woken up . I was getting everything picked up . I was making the bed and I was making the bed I realized on the blankets it was big black stains on the sheets . And blood on the sheets . I put up a room service sign up on the door to let room service know that the room have to be cleaned . They did not cleaned it they kept the sheets the same my whole stay there . It seems to me they never cleaned the room before they gave me a room . So I eneded up living the hotel with a rash and bed bug bites . Due to the hotel not cleaning the sheets and hotel room before I arrived for check in. The breakfast was horrible it’s little muffins with toast . The staff members are really rude and dismissive. Josh the manager is horrible. I explained I wanted a refund due to my room not being cleaning before I arrived to check in he kept telling me I can’t get a deposit to just for me to checkout late due to the inconvenience I made it clear to him I didn’t want to stay any longer . I was on the 3rd floor also the second day of me staying here it was people arguing screaming slamming doors yelling. It was the worst . I don’t recommend you staying here. Especially due to not the hotel not following health guidelines or protocols. Im not sure how this place is still running. This place have bedbugs they are not cleaning properly. Im not sure as to why the department of human health haven’t did anything about this yet . And I will make sure to report this to the department of human health.! Here are pictures of the sheets and bed bug bites
Apr 15, 2025 · Naylaliz GuzmanAnother Year Staying at Homestead Apart-Hotel. Thank you so much to all of the staff for always welcoming me feel like this is my home away from home. I love the the rooms have kitchens & jacuzzi tubs. The location is convenient to popular shore destinations and rates are fair. They also have an indoor pool open all year and a restaurant on premises. I haven't stayed anywhere else when I work at the shore since I've been staying here. Thank You
