Hotel Mirage Brooklyn

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The receptionist struggled with English, and I waited an hour to check in. When I finally got my room, I asked where to park and was told to use the back lot, but it was full. They even suggested parking on the sidewalk, which I refused. I ended up parking on the street. The room was filthy—dusty, with multiple strands of hair in the bed. When I requested fresh sheets, the staff initially handed me blankets instead of changing them. He only changed them when he realized I wouldn’t do it myself and even took pictures of the room. While the staff was friendly, customer service training is desperately needed. The hotel felt like a cheap motel. The bathroom was dirty, with used towels and a disgusting floor. My room key constantly failed, forcing repeated trips to the front desk. I saw other guests dealing with the same issue. Despite paying Hilton-level prices, the experience was far from upscale. The room next to mine was open, trashed, and unattended for hours. I reported it, but no one came to check. The loud train passing all night made sleep impossible. A hallway window was broken and held together with tape. Overall, I was shocked by the poor conditions and lack of service. For the price, this stay was unacceptable. I will never return.

The hotel is generally clean. However, no fitted sheets on the bed, just flat…so they slide off all the time. Toilet seat was broken in my room. Shower door would not stay shut. I assume the hotel is family owned…receptionist seems to have trouble communicating in English, which led to a mix up where they had us checking out a day earlier than needed. Was able to clear it up after paying for another night, but there was some drama resulting from that miscommunication. Just a sub-par experience.

I must admit, I booked this budget option because it was the most reasonable pricing for a weeks stay. However, I went in with higher expectations than I should have for this place based on the photos. Now I really just needed a place to sleep every night and this fit the criteria. That being said, there are still plenty of other areas for improvement. Cons: Elevator - slowest one I’ve used to date Key reader - “worked” but clearly broken. They said maintenance would fix it, never did (during my stay atleast). Thankfully the deadbolt worked. Key card - they had to refresh it almost everyday because it would stop working. Front desk was quick to fix every issue. Bed - sheets had a stain. Comforter looked like someone put a cigarette out on it with the one spot. Dont even have fitted sheets? Smoking - for a “non smoking hotel” it sure smelled like cigarettes/weed Room - very small. Hard to move around. Thin walls to hear others. Pros: AC/heat unit worked great Fridge was a nice touch Huge TV Bathroom was modern Friendly staff Fast internet! I would stay here again if I was in a pinch but otherwise I will be looking elsewhere to start. It served it’s purpose.

I stayed here when there were no keys. The staff had to lock the main door to the hotel to escort you upstairs. The desk clerk seemed afraid of what might be in the room. Lol. It was fine, except for gloves and crumbs left behind on the bedside table. The lighting in the room was great. Lots of amenities in the bathroom. There was train noise, but not terribly loud. I stayed during a weekday when the price was reasonable. No hidden holds or deposits. Sketchy neighborhood, but the price was worth it considering the UN was in session. It was a great alternative to a Manhattan hotel 3xs the price.

Staff are lovely and welcoming as well as very accommodating. I've stayed here many times and as always I feel safe comfy in a clean environment.. housekeeping is absolutely wonderful. Great pick for sure!
