One of the worst places ever stayed. Roaches, filthy, sirens, trash. On one hand you get what you pay for and on the other is a complete lack of pride in the place by the staff. The room was supposed to be cleaned once.a week on a scheduled day, never happened on that day I always had to request it. Killed at least one roach a day until the day I had 6, the next day I had one climbing my drink as I was about to take a gulp. Needless to say I spewed. The pubic hairs on the toilet I left with a note that they had been there when I moved in, for the first week expecting to have someone clean the room as promised. Got tired of that and finally cleaned it myself. The remote was broken. Nasty cabinets I would t put anything in. I removed the comforter as soon as I got there afraid of when it was last cleaned, received a blanket in plastic or used my own. Dust on top of all fixtures. The chairs had more stains on them than one could identify, tried not to sit on anything other than the bed for three weeks. Then the frosting on the cake was a threat to have me pick up my room or else they wood evict me. I had a pile of dirty clothes and I didn't make the bed. Not sure what else could have been the problem. They aren't specific but obviously instead of putting a mirror up to themselves on their failure to properly clean they blame their clientele.
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Lawrenceville, Georgia, a property located at 474 W Pike St, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, USA, often identified as HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof Atlanta - Lawrenceville, presents itself as an option. As an extended-stay hotel, it typically caters to guests needing accommodation for longer periods, often featuring amenities designed for self-sufficiency. However, based on recent guest reviews, it is crucial to provide a direct and objective introduction to this establishment, addressing the significant concerns raised by previous visitors.
The hotel is situated at 474 W Pike St in Lawrenceville, GA. This location offers accessibility within the area, potentially near local businesses, dining options, and transportation routes. However, the external environment and internal conditions, as reported by guests, paint a challenging picture. Reviews frequently mention issues that severely impact the perceived cleanliness and overall ambiance of the property. Terms such as "filthy," "nasty," and "disgusting" are used to describe the general state of the premises. Guests have reported the presence of "roaches" in significant numbers, including "small German roaches" found in various areas such as around air conditioning units, bathroom floors, and kitchenettes, including around sinks and refrigerators. The presence of these pests indicates a systemic issue with pest control and hygiene.
Furthermore, the physical state of the rooms is described as neglected. Walls are noted to have "15 years of tobacco staining" and a lingering "ripe with smoke" odor, despite a supposed non-smoking policy. Stains, black marks, and "squashed bugs and snot crusted up in some areas" are also reported. Furniture, specifically chairs, are described as having "more stains on them than one could identify." The general accumulation of dust on fixtures also contributes to the perception of poor maintenance. The outdoor environment also raises concerns, with reports of residents congregating in the "dark parking lot" at night, creating noise and a "hoodlum hangout" atmosphere, which can impact guest safety and comfort.
The service aspect at this hotel, as described by guests, appears to be a significant point of concern. One guest explicitly states a "complete lack of pride in the place by the staff." The primary service issue highlighted is the inconsistent and often absent housekeeping. Despite rooms supposedly being cleaned once a week on a scheduled day, guests report having to "always had to request it," and even then, requests were not always fulfilled, leading guests to clean rooms themselves. The absence of basic amenities, such as a working television remote and a missing iron, further indicates a lack of attention to detail and guest comfort.
When issues are brought to the attention of the staff, the response is often described as "disinterested" or unhelpful. One guest reported being met with disinterest when attempting to discuss issues or request a refund, with staff allegedly smiling only when denying a refund, implying a confrontational and unsupportive attitude towards guest complaints. The visual cues from staff, such as a laundry cart pusher appearing "extremely disinterested" and not being observed cleaning anything, reinforce the perception of a neglected environment and a lack of staff engagement in maintaining cleanliness.
Given the nature of the reported issues, the service level extends beyond mere politeness to fundamental failures in maintaining habitable conditions and responding appropriately to guest concerns.
As an extended-stay property, the hotel at 474 W Pike St aims to provide basic living essentials, typically including a kitchenette in each room. The reported features include:
The overall impression of the features is that while basic provisions are present, their condition is severely compromised by lack of maintenance, cleanliness issues, and pest infestations, rendering them far from comfortable or sanitary.
Hotels in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category often compete on price, and extended-stay properties typically offer lower weekly or monthly rates. While this hotel might present itself as an affordable option for longer stays, the extensive list of severe cleanliness and service issues reported by guests significantly impacts its value proposition. Guests explicitly state that the "continental breakfast" (if any is provided) is "nasty," with "nasty bacon" and "rock hard biscuits," advising others to "go somewhere else." Furthermore, an "additional $11.50 per day for parking in the un-secured lot" is cited as a "joke" by one guest, adding an unexpected cost to what might appear to be a budget-friendly option. This additional fee further detracts from the perceived value.
Based on the overwhelming negative feedback regarding cleanliness, pest infestations, staff attitudes, and poor maintenance, potential guests should exercise extreme caution when considering this property, even if it appears to be a low-cost "Hotels Near Of Me" option. The severe issues reported suggest that the hotel may not meet even basic standards of hygiene and comfort, making it a potentially unsuitable choice for a stay. Alternative accommodations in the Lawrenceville area should be thoroughly explored before booking at this location.

Jan 24, 2016 · Thom GreenRoom is disgusting. No smoking but the walls have 15 years of tobacco staining and still smells ripe with smoke. There's also stains and black marks and squashed bugs and snot crusted up in some areas. Starting with the AC i went to turn it down.. And noticed 3 small German roaches hanging out. I'm a state certified PC inspector, so I'm used to seeing this but let i it go as an isolated thing. The sheets don't smell fresh and I wonder if they were changed at all. The guy pushing the laundry cart around looked extremely disinterested and I never once saw him clean anything. The tub had three issues, one there were fleas around the drain seeking moisture, there were german roaches on the bathroom floor crawling out from the left corner where there's a gap, and there's mildew all over the walls and cracks of the bathroom. The towels are stiff, featuring pubic hairs and brown staining. The door had two large squashed roaches stuck to them. The kitchen area had German roaches around the seem of the fridge seeking condesation/moisture, the sink area too - I made the mistake of using it and they all came out to the watering hole to drink. The iron was missing and i didn't even want to mention it to the staff because they were the final half of that 1 star rating. I went to the office to attempt a refund and they were disinterested in talking to me about it. I asked for a refund and that was the first time I saw a smile from any of them...because they got to tell me no and I'm just another a-hole customer to them. I had to get a refund from a third party which so far I'm still attempting to do. If I cant refund it, I'm leaving the door open and posting an ad on Craigslist to give someone in dire need a place to do their heorin, prostitution, or cracked as needed because this would be a fitting place to do so. Such as at night, when the residents of this place congregate in the dark parking lot and play some kind of game or drink or something out the back of their cars making noise and speeding around like it's some hoodlum hangout.. So long story short, don't stay here, the place needs to be condemned, and the staff need to go through a huge reformation in terms of attitude before they seek future employment. The parent company Extended Stay is just horrible and must not have a care at all about the state of things..Just my 2cents. Enjoy.
Sep 01, 2015 · Joseph A. ProvenzanoThe non-smoking rooms are smoked in, the first night my eyes and nose burned from the smoke in carpet and the rooms. I am not sure who cleans the place, but I spent a better part of the evening clean the kitchen and the bathroom. Simple stains that could have been clean with bleach. The highlight standing outside at 12am because false fire alarm.
Feb 16, 2014 · Chuck PUP PayneMy largest complaint about these extended stay chain is he horrible free internet! Less then 1mb per second speeds! Then they up charge you $30.00 for a month of 3mbs... As far as room quality it is clean, But has a horrible smell almost of a old ashtry. Nice flat screen Television with hardly any channels. Kitchenette and room is much smaller then the extended stay I was just at in Charlotte that cost less. No type of gym or pool of any kind Overall this is a bare necessities type room Bed was pretty comfortable for a hotel bed that it is.
