Arriving at the Hudson Mariner we were delighted with the authenticity of the building and surroundings, the modernized entry process worked flawlessly. Upon entry to our rooms we were simply overwhelmed with the warmth and beauty of the accommodations. The warm fireplaces and the beautiful tones of the suite were absolutely stunning. The couch and beds were some of the most comfortable we've ever had. In the morning the light from over the Hudson poured in through the double height front windows, illuminating all the fine details that we had not seen the night before. The fine antique cabinetry shone with deep polish and subtle wood tones, the artworks on the walls were appropriately nautical and very tasteful. The shower was strong and hot, with room for two - just how we like it. We eyed the back porch and courtyard with longing, but they will have to await warmer weather. If we had three thumbs they would all be up !!

Apr 08, 2024 · Al JUnfortunately the customer service at this hotel was abominable. My partner developed food poisoning from a local restaurant during the night. Upon contacting front desk were offered an 11.30am checkout (original time 11am), which we were grateful for, but at 11.30am my partner was still actively vomiting. At this point we had the cleaning staff knocking on our door and front desk reprimanding us with 'maximum 10 more minutes'. I asked: did they want her to throw up down the hallway and onto the street? She literally could not walk. Not once did anyone ask if my partner was okay or offer us anything (water, directions to a pharmacy..), until eventually we asked to speak to a manager, who offered us maximum 12.30pm checkout. We left at 11.50am, and had to go to a local cafe so my partner could find a bathroom, where she collapsed for an hour. We understand this is a small business and someone else was due to stay in our room, but there simply must be provisions for people that become unwell. There were several other rooms available online for that evening - could they not have offered those to us or the incoming guests? We offered to pay for an extra night... What an awful experience. Plenty of locally-owned hotels in the area - recommend giving your money to a place with a little more heart.
Nov 07, 2023 · Milli AAn absolute delight. I was in the area on business and tired of chain motels that are hit and miss for quality. This was a welcome surprise and my first time in a boutique hotel. Tasteful decor and a very comfortable bed. I would absolutely recommend and I will be back.
