My husband and I stayed here 2 nights, it was so nice and relaxing. The bed and sheets were really comfy and cozy. Room looked newly remodeled. (The water pressure was a little too strong). The trains were super cool. We will definitely be back again and hopefully stay longer. Would have liked to visit the State Park down the road, but it was a stormy day. We heard about Inn On the River from a reporter on a Madison sports radio station.

Jun 24, 2025 · Amy HockingI don't enjoy the scent in the room because it was not good for my allergies. After telling you that, there is no reason to give less than 5 stars. Great views, quiet rooms for the fact trains fly by, comfy beds, clean rooms and great service! The shared balconies offer a great place to relax. I'm glad we made the choice to stay in this small town rather than a larger city nearby.
Jul 04, 2025 · R CThis inn is a great place to stay and a hidden gem. The rooms have been remodeled, are clean and inviting. The owners are very friendly and this inn makes you feel like you are home. The rooms have a shared balcony you can sit on for fresh air, sun and to enjoy watching trains and barges passing by and the relaxing Mississippi River. It's a good home base for touring the area. Quite the find!
Jun 05, 2025 · Tom HStayed here about a week ago on a Sunday night. We loved the place! Older hotel but very nicely updated. Very cute and comfortable rooms. Very nice state park down the road, and the town itself was very warm and welcoming! If you are bothered by train noise, then they have ear plugs available in the room for sleeping. We rather enjoyed the soft hum of the train, and by morning, we were counting the cars while drinking our coffee and taking in the beautiful view of the river and mountains. We will definitely be going back this spring or summer!
Dec 03, 2024 · Kim MoyerMy husband and I loved this place! We were coming up by canoe cause we are canoeing the Mississippi River and the owner was so kind and generous. Virgilio was so thoughtful and picked us up from the marina with all our gear and even offered many stops then dropped us off in the morning with our gear. It’s rare to find that much hospitality with hotels and inns. The room was comfy and clean and all that we could need. I highly recommend!
