Stay away! (TW: bedbug) As many others, we were ok with the older look because of the price and its position close to the highway. Not worth it. It is not just the look, it is not well maintained. While we were having breakfast in the room, we saw a bedbug on one of our bags. We ran out of there as fast as we could. I tried to warn the owner and he told me that it was our fault because we 'stay in so many hotels', all because we were cyclists. He did not know that we were at the first day of our trip... but the attitude lets me think they probably will not deal with the problem. We stressed about the whole thing for days, and I regretted not cancelling the reservation when we arrived to go to one of the hotel and few minutes further away and pay a little bit more, but feel safe.
For those searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category on Cape Cod with a primary focus on affordability and a straightforward, no-frills experience, the Knights Inn Centerville, located at 8 Shootflying Hill Rd, Centerville, MA 02632, USA, presents itself as a viable option. This motel-style establishment aims to provide basic comforts for travelers looking to explore the Cape without a significant financial outlay.
The Knights Inn Centerville is described as a low-key, budget hotel with an older, classic motel style, reminiscent of beach vacations from a bygone era. It's a single-story building with exterior hallways, offering direct access to rooms. The property has 40 rooms. While some guests appreciate this charming, quaint, older look, it's important to note that this also means the hotel may not offer the same level of modern polish or luxurious amenities as newer or higher-priced establishments. The ambiance is generally quiet and peaceful, which can be a draw for those looking for a relaxing escape from the bustle. The hotel does feature a shared sun terrace, providing an outdoor space for guests to relax. However, some reviews indicate that while the appearance may be "older," there have been concerns raised about the level of maintenance and general upkeep, with mentions of dust and areas that might not be as meticulously clean as desired by some guests. For instance, one review mentioned finding "black spots" and dirt between the lock and handle on a room door, even after staff attempted to clean it. Another review explicitly warns to "stay away" due to a bedbug sighting and an unhelpful owner response. This feedback suggests a varying experience regarding cleanliness and maintenance, which potential guests should consider. Despite these concerns, other guests have stated that the rooms are "plenty clean enough" for the price point.
The Knights Inn Centerville offers a foundational set of services and amenities aimed at providing a functional stay. A key offering is a complimentary continental breakfast served daily from 7 AM to 10 AM. While some guests have noted that the breakfast options might be limited in variety (e.g., fruits, coffee, bakery items), it provides a convenient start to the day. The motel provides complimentary wireless internet access (Wi-Fi) throughout the property, ensuring guests can stay connected. Free self-parking is available on-site, including ample space for RVs, buses, and trucks, which is a significant convenience for travelers driving to the Cape. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, providing assistance to guests, and express check-out is available. The staff are frequently described as friendly, helpful, and responsive, indicating a commitment to guest service despite any property-related issues. The hotel is a smoke-free property. Pets are allowed at the motel, though additional fees may apply, and guests should confirm the specific pet policy directly with the hotel. While some listings mention "2 pool areas," other, more recent information for this specific Knights Inn Centerville location (8 Shootflying Hill Rd) indicates that it "does not list a pool among its facilities," so prospective guests should verify directly if a pool is a deal-breaker. Coffee/tea is available in a common area.
The 40 rooms at Knights Inn Centerville are described as modest and low-key, focusing on providing essential amenities for a comfortable night's sleep. Each air-conditioned room typically includes a refrigerator and a microwave, which are valuable conveniences for travelers, especially for storing snacks or reheating meals. Rooms also come with flat-screen TVs with cable programming for entertainment, hair dryers, and irons/ironing boards. Complimentary toiletries are provided in the private bathrooms, which feature shower/tub combinations. Free local calls are available from in-room phones. Guests generally find the beds comfortable, and the air conditioning to be "great." While the rooms are generally considered "basic" and "no thrills," they aim to fulfill the fundamental needs of a traveler on a budget. Some reviews do point to the rooms being "outdated" and in need of renovation, with mentions of old mattresses, musty smells, and issues with caulking in showers. One particular review highlighted a bedbug sighting, which is a severe concern for any accommodation. The hotel's response to this specific complaint, as reported by the guest, suggested a blaming attitude, which can be off-putting. However, other guests have found the rooms to be clean enough for their purposes, emphasizing that for the price, the offerings are reasonable. Guests are advised to manage expectations regarding luxury and modern aesthetics when considering this property.

Sep 03, 2024 · Joelle CormierAnyone remember the old days, or go on a beach vacation as a kid? You probably stayed here or somewhere like it... Is it fancy? No. Is there a bit of dust? Probably... The rooms are plenty clean enough, you get a comfy bed, a door that locks, and a decent shower. Air conditioning is great! If you were hoping to find a luxury hotel for under $200, that's on you. Comfortable, no thrills. Thank you.
Jul 19, 2024 · dsp19661This place literally had mold growing on the ceiling that they clearly tried to cover with paint. My partner and I both have bad asthma and decided not to take the chance staying there. When we brought this issue to the manager’s attention he refused to believe us and refused to refund the money.
Aug 23, 2024 · zoe moranI genuinely don’t understand why people are giving this place anything higher than 1 star. I came to stay here for one night and to me 200 is still a lot. This place was the nasties place I ever stayed at. The bathroom had mold all over the shower curtains the bathroom floor was FILTHY and made my feet black. The carpets had stains ALL over them and the sheets were stained. We did not even stay the night we ended up driving home. This was a waste and I am highly disappointed. I will fight for my money back.
Aug 11, 2024 · Emileigh AdolfThe room FAR outdid my expectations! Super comfy (new? ) beds, soft, cozy linens, the VIEW from our room at the end (i think it was 22?) Was like or own interactive artistic wall! Looking out to the turning lands of autumn. Such lush textures and shapes!
