I guess your experience depends on who owns the cabin. I’m surprised by the reviews as we’ve been here for 4 nights and it’s been absolutely amazing. I wanted somewhere with good views to celebrate my 40th birthday and this place did not disappoint. The views are breathtaking, I literally cried. The cabin was easy to get to, the roads were not as steep as some other cabins we’ve been to and they are wide and well maintained. Our cabin was clean, large, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Will definitely return again. For reference we rented through Elk Springs Resorts and were in unit #36

For us Tennesseans, Legacy Mountain Resort offers a prime opportunity to experience the best of the Great Smoky Mountains without having to travel far from home. This resort is particularly suitable for locals for several compelling reasons, making it an excellent choice for our next mountain getaway.
Firstly, the ease of access is a significant benefit. Living within the state means a shorter drive to Sevierville, and the well-maintained, wide roads leading to Legacy Mountain Resort make the final leg of the journey stress-free, a detail often appreciated by those familiar with more challenging mountain routes. This convenience means more time enjoying your vacation and less time on the road.
Secondly, the accommodation style itself, consisting of individual cabins, resonates deeply with the local desire for a true mountain experience. Unlike a traditional hotel, a cabin at Legacy Mountain Resort provides a private, spacious retreat that feels like a home away from home. This is especially appealing for families, large groups, or multi-generational trips, as the cabins are designed to comfortably accommodate many guests with ample common areas, game rooms, and often private hot tubs. We Tennesseans value our family time, and these cabins provide the perfect setting for creating lasting memories together.
The breathtaking mountain views are, without a doubt, a major draw. As locals, we are proud of the natural beauty of the Smokies, and Legacy Mountain Resort truly maximizes these vistas. Waking up to panoramic mountain sunrises or unwinding in a hot tub under a star-filled sky, all with those incredible views, reinforces why we love living in this region.
While some older reviews mention concerns about maintenance or cleanliness, it's crucial to acknowledge that experiences can vary based on individual cabin owners and their respective property management. However, many current reviews highlight clean, well-maintained cabins and a truly amazing experience, with guests loving the breathtaking views and the overall comfort. This suggests that many cabins within the resort uphold high standards.
Lastly, by choosing to vacation at a resort like Legacy Mountain, we are directly supporting local businesses and the robust tourism industry that is so vital to the economy of East Tennessee. It’s a chance to enjoy world-class amenities and stunning scenery while contributing to our community. For a memorable, convenient, and truly "Tennessee" mountain escape, Legacy Mountain Resort stands out as an excellent choice for us locals.

Jun 07, 2025 · Samantha EngelMan, I can't believe I'm leaving this place a negative review. I used to absolutely love coming here. Still do, the location and view are amazing. But, the cabins are getting trashed, and nobody is fixing them. We have been coming here for 13 years, and the last 5 or so have really been disappointing. It's hit or miss whether the hot tub is going to work. Things are broken throughout the cabins, random damages just left for years. Dog friendly cabins are great, but not when the carpets smell like urine and aren't being regularly steam-cleaned. The housekeeping is a joke; more than likely your cabin is going to be filthy upon arrival - bring cleaning supplies. Most of the cabins are handled by property management companies who are completely out of touch. They don't understand the importance of customer experience, and seem to be conditioned to complaints. Complaints that don't get addressed. I hope the owners see this and take action - this resort used to be pristine. There hasn't been a response to a review in 3 years..
May 09, 2025 · Joe MozzoneCabin Stay Review: June 5-8, 2025 Our recent stay at the cabin from June 5th to June 8th, 2025, had a mix of enjoyable aspects and significant disappointments. On the positive side, we truly appreciated the comfortable beds and the convenience of having each bedroom equipped with its own full bathroom. The view from the cabin was also absolutely beautiful and a real highlight of our trip. However, several issues impacted our overall experience. Upon arrival, we discovered roaches in the dishwasher, and unfortunately, the dishwashers did not effectively clean the dishes. The cabin's two hot tubs were also problematic; one wouldn't turn on, and the other wouldn't heat up. Furthermore, spider webs covered the balconies and outdoor furniture on every floor, making those areas unusable. Inside, the TVs were not functional, constantly searching for a Wi-Fi signal, and the shower liners in my bathroom were visibly filthy and nasty. The bedroom floor was sticky, and the bathtub was not clean. We reported these compliments, but unfortunately, nothing changed or was addressed during our stay. Due to these numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues, I will unfortunately not be staying at this cabin again.
Jun 11, 2025 · Wendy WardWe had scenic sunrise it has the most beautiful views of the smokies I’m talking jaw dropping!!!! We booked on booking.com the house was clean and absolutely gorgeous only thing missing is a gas fireplace it is electric but with those views it didn’t even matter out door jacuzzi indoor jacuzzi as well it was breathtaking it literally the last house so the views are unobstructed
Apr 23, 2025 · Eileen MartinezWe stayed in cabin Up Up & Away. The views are amazing, but there is nothing luxury about this cabin. Several broken rails on the decks, limited kitchen supplies, horrible scratches around all doorways and on trim, bathrooms in the bedrooms so those that sleep on the two king beds should be prepared to sleep with doors open and the other guests accessing their bedrooms to go to the bathroom…it does not appear that any efforts are going into continual maintenance and/or updated comfort amenities for guests. We reported the horrible scratches when we noticed them, but did not even get into all of the issues because they continued to mount. Some minor inconveniences, but all adding up to this place being a less than comfortable stay. Finally, just so you are aware if you are a winter visitor. We had a very impactful snow that we were not expecting as it only called for a “coating.” No delivery drivers could make it up. So we asked for the maintenance team to come and plow the “resort” road or to at least estimate when it may be plowed. They don’t do that. The HOA is responsible. No contact for the HOA and no replies for help with getting food or clear roads to guests unexpectedly snowed in. We packed up and left a day early and barely made it to the bottom of the hill. Thankfully we did this as highs are expected in the 20s tomorrow. We saw several guests stuck nearly 2 miles away from their cabins at the bottom of the hill as they had been in town throughout the day and had no idea about the severe weather in the resort. All this to say, find somewhere to stay that takes care of their guests and their properties.
