My Recent Stay at Legoland Hotel NY: A Disastrous Display of Customer Service. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the customer service I received during my recent stay at the Legoland Hotel in NY. My two-night reservation was tragically cut short when my son suffered an ankle sprain while at the park. This unforeseen emergency necessitated an early departure.I checked out around 2 PM on what should have been the first day of our stay. Given the circumstances – a child's injury and the inability to enjoy the park or utilize our hotel room for the second night – I requested some consideration from the hotel. I wasn't demanding a full refund, but a partial discount would have been a reasonable gesture of compassion.Instead, I was met with what felt like callous indifference. The hotel staff seemed utterly unmoved by my son's situation, almost as if they were smirking at our misfortune. I reiterated that I understood hotel policies, but I was appealing to their sense of empathy and basic human decency in light of our emergency.Their response? A flat refusal. While they may have the right to adhere strictly to their policies, they utterly failed in demonstrating any semblance of customer care. This isn't about the money; it's about how a company responds to a family in distress. This experience highlighted a profound lack of empathy and a complete disregard for customer well-being.Legoland Hotel NY had the opportunity to turn a bad situation into something slightly more positive. They could have shown that they value their guests, not just their bottom line. Instead, they chose the latter.Because of this experience, I will NEVER stay at a Legoland Hotel again. This level of poor customer service is unacceptable, and I strongly advise other families to consider alternative accommodations where compassion and understanding are valued. This hotel clearly prioritizes profit over people.

LEGOLAND® Hotel New York Introduce

For local users and families searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for an unforgettable and immersive vacation experience, the LEGOLAND® Hotel New York presents itself as a premier destination. Located directly adjacent to the LEGOLAND New York Resort at 1 Legoland Blvd, Goshen, NY 10924, USA, this hotel is designed from the ground up to captivate young imaginations and provide an extended adventure centered around the beloved LEGO bricks. The hotel can be contacted at (833) 710-5346 or +1 833-710-5346 for reservations and inquiries.

Environment:

The environment of LEGOLAND® Hotel New York is, without a doubt, its most distinctive feature. It is a vibrant, colorful, and thoroughly immersive world built entirely around the LEGO theme. From the moment guests step into the lobby, they are surrounded by LEGO models, interactive play areas, and visual cues that transport them into a playful universe. The design is explicitly "kid friendly everything," aiming to delight children at every turn. Each floor and indeed every room is themed, allowing families to choose adventures from pirate, kingdom, LEGO Friends, Ninjago, or LEGO City themes. This consistent theming creates a cohesive and exciting atmosphere that extends throughout the property. The hotel's immediate proximity to LEGOLAND Park ensures that the fun continues seamlessly from the park into the accommodation, with an "easy walk" to the park entrance. While the vibrancy is geared towards children, parents often find the environment stimulating and engaging, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere for the entire family.

Services:

The services at LEGOLAND® Hotel New York are primarily tailored to enhance the family and child-centric experience. Guests frequently report "Friendly staff," indicating a team that generally aims to facilitate a positive stay, especially for families with young children. Services commonly provided include:

  • 24-Hour Front Desk: To assist with check-ins, check-outs, and any guest inquiries at any time.
  • Guest Services & Concierge: Staff are typically available to provide information about the park, hotel amenities, and local attractions.
  • Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping services ensure a clean and comfortable environment throughout the stay.
  • Luggage Storage: For convenience, particularly on arrival or departure days.
  • Parking: Guests benefit from "Easy parking" on-site, a crucial service for families traveling by car.
  • Afternoon & Evening Entertainment: The hotel is renowned for its in-house entertainment, which often includes character meet-and-greets, building challenges, and shows designed to keep children engaged, particularly during the evenings.
  • Early Park Access: A significant perk often offered to hotel guests, allowing them to enter LEGOLAND New York Park before the general public.

However, it is vital to note a significant negative customer review concerning customer service during an emergency. This review describes a "disastrous display of customer service" when a family requested consideration due to a child's injury necessitating an early departure. The guest reported a "flat refusal" for any partial refund or discount, highlighting a perceived "profound lack of empathy" and "complete disregard for customer well-being," with the sentiment that the hotel "prioritizes profit over people." While this is one perspective, it underscores the importance for guests to be aware of the hotel's strict adherence to policies, even in unforeseen circumstances. This incident, as described, indicates a potential area where guests seeking flexibility in emergencies might face challenges. It is always advisable for guests to thoroughly review cancellation and refund policies before booking, and perhaps consider travel insurance for unexpected events.

Features:

The LEGOLAND® Hotel New York is brimming with unique features designed to create an unparalleled family vacation:

  • Themed Guest Rooms & Suites: Each room and suite is meticulously themed (e.g., Pirate, Kingdom, LEGO Friends, Ninjago, LEGO City). These rooms feature separate sleeping areas for children and adults, a king-sized bed for adults, and a bunk bed with a trundle bed for kids, along with themed décor and LEGO models.
  • In-Room Scavenger Hunt & LEGO Bricks: A highlight for children is an in-room treasure hunt that leads to a LEGO prize. Each room also comes with a bucket of LEGO bricks for creative play.
  • Direct Park Access: The hotel's prime location offers "Right next to the park" access, allowing families to easily walk to the LEGOLAND New York Resort entrance. This convenience minimizes travel time and maximizes playtime.
  • Interactive Play Areas: The lobby and other common areas are filled with interactive LEGO play zones, including building pits and character appearances, ensuring entertainment even outside the guest rooms.
  • On-Site Dining: The hotel typically features themed restaurants that offer family-friendly dining options, often including buffet-style meals and character dining experiences. These restaurants extend the immersive experience, though they can be "rather pricey" as noted in a review.
  • Pool & Fitness Center: While not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, LEGOLAND Hotels generally offer a family-friendly pool for relaxation and fun, and sometimes a small fitness center.
  • Entertainment & Shows: The hotel hosts various entertainment activities, including live shows, character appearances, and nightly themed programs, particularly designed for children, keeping them engaged throughout their stay.
  • Easy Parking: As mentioned by a guest, parking is "Easy," which is a significant practical advantage for families traveling with luggage and children.
Promotional Information:

While specific dynamic promotional offers are best verified directly with LEGOLAND® Hotel New York via their phone numbers (833) 710-5346 or +1 833-710-5346, the hotel's core promotional appeal revolves around its unique immersive experience and direct park access:

  • Bundle Deals: Often, the most common promotions involve hotel stay + park ticket packages, providing a comprehensive family vacation experience. These bundles can offer cost savings compared to purchasing separately.
  • Annual Pass Holder Benefits: Guests with LEGOLAND Annual Passes may receive special discounts on hotel stays or other perks.
  • Seasonal & Themed Events: The hotel frequently ties promotions to seasonal events (e.g., Halloween, Christmas) or new park attractions, offering themed experiences and special activities.
  • Early Booking Incentives: Discounts may be available for booking stays well in advance.

It is important for prospective guests to carefully consider the pricing, which can be "rather pricey" as per a customer review, reflecting the unique, immersive, and all-encompassing nature of the LEGOLAND experience. While the hotel offers an unparalleled environment for children, the reported incident regarding customer service in an emergency highlights the importance of understanding their policies thoroughly before booking. Despite this, for families prioritizing an immersive, fun, and convenient stay directly adjacent to LEGOLAND New York Resort, the LEGOLAND® Hotel New York remains a compelling option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, promising a memorable adventure for its younger guests.

Rather pricey but very nice kid friendly hotel. TVs in the rooms were the only part that didn't work quite as well as advertised. Everything else was great. Friendly staff. Kid friendly everything. Right next to the park. Easy parking. No complaints except the price being on the high side.

The kids had a good time. Proximity to park is awesome, Lego theme everything is great, the staff we did interact with were generally friendly, and check-in is a breeze. But there are few major drawbacks as a paying parent to be aware of if looking to book here. The general feeling is that they skimp on basics and charge extra wherever possible. If coming back, I’d stay elsewhere and drive to the park. First, somehow they expect you to know that housekeeping is not provided and only available on request. Coming back after a long day at the park to dirty towels in the floor, no replacement of empty tissue paper, no cleaning, etc was an unwelcome surprise for the price they charge. There is no front desk, and texting this feedback to the phone number they provide lead to a generic apology with no resolution. The complimentary breakfast is truly terrible as many others have stated. Basic kids options like pancakes, fruit or French toast (like what they picture under their complimentary breakfast messaging online) are all extra. Complimentary “Juice” machines were all broken, with spouts pouring out only water. Fountain drinks are extra. Watch out that many of the products at the gift shop have a sizable price increase over standard Lego MSRP and they don’t price-match since they are a different company. To be fair, this is the same as the Park and not unique to the hotel.

Overall our kids had a great time but be prepared for several surprises and disappointments… The first thing we learned the hard way is that there is a 45 day cancellation policy. Not typical for a hotel so we made it work. Next, there is no mention or offer of bundling park tickets with purchasing your hotel stay. This seems like a pretty standard cross sell. The hotel was definitely under staffed. Our room was never fully cleaned after room service. Crumbs on the floor, surfaces not wiped down. And the same goes for the common area where the kids play. The tables were never wiped down. For the pricing they are charging, the expectation would be a little better services. The food was cafeteria quality and came out lukewarm. It pains me to leave a negative review. It is my hope that it helps LEGOLAND improve because we would like to go back to a better experience.

This was our fourth time staying here and it seems like the quality of our stay has decreased each time. A few things from this trip that may stop us from booking again: -We ate at BRICKS Family Restaurant, one of the hotel's on site eateries. They've inexplicably switched to an Italian menu with only a few items, none of which most kids would want to eat. I ordered the salmon, which was incredibly fishy, and the polenta it was served with was cold. All told, our dinner for four people was over $200 with the tip for food that was at best, subpar. Breakfast at BRICKS the following morning was equally disappointing, though thankfully, most of it was included with our stay. I say most, because they have decided that things like a bowl of seven bite sized chunks of melon etc, now cost extra. -We paid for a late checkout, so we could stay at the hotel until noon and then head to the park. At 9:15, a housekeeping employee knocked on our door multiple times-my family was still asleep. I opened the door in a towel and she glared at me, then wordlessly went to the door across from us and did the same thing. I said, "did you need something?" and she looked me up and down and said "checkout is at 11". I told her we paid for late checkout and she shrugged and said "out by 11". I have never had this happen to me before in any of the hotels and resorts I've stayed in. Even if we hadn't paid for late checkout, we still had nearly 2 hours in the room. I felt this was incredibly unprofessional. -I hope this last thing is a learning experience for the resort, but they had a balloon drop since it was New Year' s Eve. I am allergic to latex, and one of our daughters has a latex sensitivity, so I asked if the balloons were latex. The staff did not know but said they assumed so since they ordered the balloons off of Amazon. They were sweet about it and offered to research and let me know for sure, but if you ARE allergic to latex, please know that they also use latex gloves in their food service areas. -The Arcade in the hotel: half the machines were broken. There were no signs on the out of order ones, so we loaded a card and only played three games. However, each game costs a ridiculous amount of money to play. Overall, the hotel was a huge disappointment. It isn't cheap to stay here, so I really hope Legoland changes some things going forward. Paying this amount of money, plus hundreds for mediocre food and service, is the reason we will likely stay at a hotel and drive into the park next time.
