This place needs to be condemned and shut down. Worst experience ever. WORST customer service ever, horrible management and NOT WORTH $85 a night. First off I asked for a king bed and got a nasty and dirty two queen size bed that were broken and sucked you in when you go to sit down. The bathroom was filthy dirty and the light above the skink did not work. Police where on site a few rooms down on my first night staying there. not to mention all of the crack headed people they have staying there along with needles on hall stairs. Their website says that they are pet friendly but was far from the truth. I have a service dog and ESA cat in which they game me a hard time about. They have a sign saying only service dogs are allowed but still gave me issues when i told them i had the paperwork to support it. To top it off i checked out and was still getting charged from them for a room I was already checked out of. The people who work there are rude and unprofessional. there are way better motels for the same price that at least have clean rooms with working lights. Their lobby is the only thing that looks nice which is a shame.

New Haven Inn Introduce

For local users Browse platforms like 'Hotels Near Of Me' in search of nearby accommodation, the New Haven Inn located at 100 Pond Lily Ave, New Haven, CT 06525, USA, might appear as an option. This introduction aims to provide a comprehensive and objective overview of the hotel, drawing on information available online, including real customer reviews, to help potential guests make an informed decision. The hotel can be contacted at (203) 387-6651 or via mobile at +1 203-387-6651.

When considering the environment of the New Haven Inn, it is crucial to address the prevalent themes found in customer feedback. While some online sources might present a general description of a "down-to-earth hotel," a significant portion of recent customer reviews paints a starkly different picture. The environment, particularly within the guest rooms, has been described in extremely negative terms. One guest unequivocally stated, "This place needs to be condemned and shut down," detailing a "nasty and dirty two queen size bed that were broken and sucked you in when you go to sit down." Further environmental concerns include a "filthy dirty" bathroom with a non-working light above the sink. The overall impression conveyed by multiple reviews is one of general disrepair and a lack of cleanliness. Guests have reported "carpets that clearly haven’t been vacuumed or cleaned in ages," to the extent that some wouldn't walk barefoot. Other serious issues mentioned are "moldy tiles" in bathrooms, "rusted shower head," and a "clogged bathtub," along with a "leak on the ceiling." The presence of "someone else’s long black hairs" on towels and a "beyond dirty" comforter and couch further contribute to a concerning depiction of the in-room environment. Beyond the rooms, the immediate surroundings of the hotel have also been critiqued, with mentions of "police where on site a few rooms down" and "needles on hall stairs," suggesting a potentially unsafe or uncomfortable atmosphere for some guests. While the lobby is noted by one reviewer as "the only thing that looks nice," this appears to be an isolated positive observation in contrast to the widespread negative feedback about the rest of the property.

Regarding services, the New Haven Inn's offerings, as described by its website or third-party listings, typically include complimentary amenities such as free continental breakfast, free local calls, and free Wi-Fi in all rooms and public areas. However, customer experiences regarding these services can vary significantly from the advertised ideal. While some sources mention an indoor pool, and a business center with four conference rooms, actual guest reviews do not extensively detail positive experiences with these facilities, and some even contradict the existence of an indoor pool. The quality and availability of the continental breakfast, for example, are not universally praised in the way some other hotels' breakfast services are. The most prominent feedback on service revolves around customer interaction. Multiple guests have reported "WORST customer service ever" and "horrible management." The staff are described as "rude and unprofessional," which severely impacts the guest experience. There have been specific instances of billing issues, with a guest reporting being "still getting charged from them for a room I was already checked out of."

A notable point of contention and a key service feature is the hotel's pet policy. While some external listings suggest the New Haven Inn is "pet-friendly" or "allows pets," customer reviews paint a picture of significant challenges. One guest with a service dog and ESA cat reported being given "a hard time about it," despite the hotel's sign indicating "only service dogs are allowed." This discrepancy between advertised policy and actual experience, even with proper documentation, highlights a potential inconsistency in service delivery regarding pet accommodations. It is crucial for guests traveling with service animals or pets to confirm the hotel's precise policy and be prepared for potential difficulties based on previous guest experiences, even if they have documentation.

Features of the New Haven Inn, beyond the general room amenities like air conditioning, cable TV, and coffee makers, may include microwave and mini-fridges in some rooms (potentially for an additional fee), and suites with whirlpool tubs and seating areas. The hotel also typically offers a 24-hour front desk and free on-site parking. Its location, off Interstate 95, is cited as a convenient feature, offering easy access to Yale University (approximately four miles away) and Southern Connecticut State University (around two miles away). West Rock Ridge State Park is also noted as being nearby, providing potential recreational opportunities. For business travelers, the mention of conference rooms and a business center could be appealing. However, it's paramount to consider these features within the context of the reported maintenance and cleanliness issues. A king bed, while advertised as an option, may not be available as requested, and even if provided, might be in a state of disrepair. The functionality of in-room amenities like lights and overall cleanliness appear to be significant issues that could undermine the utility of any listed features.

In terms of promotional information, the New Haven Inn is positioned as a budget-friendly option, with previous mentions of rates around "$85 a night." This pricing likely reflects its market positioning as a motel-style accommodation. However, as noted by a reviewer, there are "way better motels for the same price that at least have clean rooms with working lights," suggesting that even at a lower price point, the perceived value is poor due to the severe cleanliness and maintenance issues. While the hotel might offer standard motel promotions, such as competitive rates for direct bookings or extended stays, the overwhelming negative feedback on basic hygiene and customer service may make such promotions less appealing to discerning travelers. Prospective guests should exercise extreme caution and consider if the listed price genuinely reflects an acceptable level of comfort and service, especially given the strong warnings from previous occupants. Based on the provided information, any promotional offers would need to be weighed heavily against the consistent reports of unsatisfactory conditions and poor customer relations.

In conclusion, for local users navigating 'Hotels Near Of Me', the New Haven Inn at 100 Pond Lily Ave, New Haven, CT, presents a mixed and largely concerning profile. While it offers a convenient location near local universities and accessible parking, and might seem like a budget-friendly choice, the consistent and severe negative customer feedback regarding its environment, cleanliness, and staff professionalism is a significant red flag. Reviews repeatedly mention dirty and broken furniture, unsanitary bathrooms, issues with pet policies, and a general lack of maintenance throughout the property. The stated price point, even if seemingly affordable, appears to be deemed not worth it by many guests due to the poor conditions. Therefore, while the hotel exists and offers certain basic amenities, potential guests are strongly advised to consider the extensive negative experiences reported by previous visitors and prioritize hotels with demonstrably better cleanliness and service standards, even if it means paying a slightly higher rate.

The pictures shown are deceiving. This place is nasty. The room I was in was dirty it smells, behind the beds are dirty full of dirt, the bathroom sink is ewww, the bathtub eww, on top of that the mattresses alone are eww. I felt unsafe sleeping on the beds. Don’t get me started with customer service. Whoever the owner is should be ashamed of themselves, needs Jesus, and fined for this property. How tf it’s up and still running??? The whole area it’s in needs to be rebuilt !! Whoever you are do better with this place.

Thank you for the upgrade! I had a lot of gear that needed to be put in the room. My Priceline room was upstairs (no elevator) and it was 10 pm. I was graciously comped an upgrade room. Much about the experience was just fine. Shampoo, etc and towels provided. WiFi password provided on request. Good AC. Good shower (and Jacuzzi I didn’t use) Clean enough. And. Missing for me: trash can, iron, cups for water, hangars that don’t break, a container for ice, door bolt wouldn’t close, non-smoking room that had been smoked in before. But, overall, I’d go back. This hotel is being brought back into service by a dedicated family - not quite there yet but I’d give them another shot.
