Do not go to this place. I showed up for check in and everything seemed fine. We got to our room and it was disgusting, bugs, filth, cracked paint, and trash behind the beds. We were concerned about bed bugs due to itching so we left. Tried to call and checkout time to complain for a refund and the guy said we should have complained sooner to get a refund or to get a room swap. Why would I want you to put me in another disgusting room?! Horrible service, if there is any hospitality or dignity in this agency, they will refund me. Look at the pictures, the speak for themselves...
Welcome to the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, where we aim to connect you with suitable accommodations in your vicinity. Today, we're introducing New Haven Village Suites, located at 3 Long Wharf Dr, New Haven, CT 06511, USA. This all-suite hotel is designed to offer a residential feel, particularly appealing to those seeking an extended stay experience with the conveniences of a hotel.
New Haven Village Suites is situated in City Point, just two miles from the bustling New Haven city center and about 2.9 miles from Yale University. Its location directly off Interstate 95 provides easy access for travelers arriving by car, and it's also a five-minute drive from New Haven Union Station. The area around the hotel offers a blend of urban proximity and waterfront access, being on the Long Wharf waterfront. While close to amenities and major attractions, some recent reviews have noted the immediate surroundings might appear a bit industrial or "sketchy" with some trash on the street, and boarded-up homes or businesses.
The property itself features an inviting outdoor courtyard, which includes seating, a picnic area, and an outdoor gas grill station for guests to enjoy. There's also a garden area, providing a space for relaxation. The hotel is a two-story building without an elevator, which is something to consider for guests with accessibility needs. The overall atmosphere aims for a quiet and calm environment, often noted by guests as conducive to a peaceful stay.
New Haven Village Suites offers a range of services and features designed to enhance an extended stay. A key highlight of every suite is the fully equipped kitchen, which typically includes a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, cooktop, and often a full oven, along with cookware, dishes, and utensils. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which can be a significant cost-saver and convenience, especially for longer durations. However, some past guests have mentioned that the kitchens might lack certain items, suggesting it could be beneficial to bring your own specific cooking utensils if you plan extensive meal preparation.
Each suite also provides a separate living space with a sofa bed, a flat-screen cable HDTV with premium channels, and free high-speed internet access (both Wi-Fi and wired). The rooms are climate-controlled with heating and air conditioning. Private bathrooms are equipped with a bath or shower, complimentary toiletries, and a hairdryer. Pillowtop beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and premium bedding aim to provide a comfortable night's sleep. Some suites, particularly the larger bi-level Executive Lofts, may also feature a working fireplace and a balcony or terrace. The hotel maintains a 100% non-smoking policy.
For guest convenience, the hotel offers a 24-hour front desk, ensuring assistance is available at any time. There's an on-site fitness center for those who wish to maintain their workout routine. A 24-hour on-site market is available for snacks, drinks, and essential items. Laundry facilities are provided, including self-serve coin-operated options. Complimentary self-parking is available on-site, including space for RVs, buses, and trucks, which is a notable benefit. Additionally, a complimentary shuttle service is offered within a three-mile radius, though it typically does not cater to groups. Business travelers can utilize the 24-hour business center with computer access. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing furry companions to stay for an additional charge.
While past information suggests a complimentary hot daily breakfast buffet and light evening meals on select weekdays, some recent customer reviews indicate that breakfast may no longer be included or is negligible, and coffee may only be available in the room with some guests reporting issues with the coffee pot. It's advisable to verify current breakfast offerings directly with the hotel.
New Haven Village Suites often provides special offers and discounts, particularly for guests booking directly through their website. For instance, new email subscribers may be eligible for a 10% discount on their next stay. It's always recommended to check their official website or popular booking platforms for the most current promotions and rates, as prices can vary based on season and demand. Guests should also be aware of the security deposit requirement, which is typically $200 for studio suites and $400 for two-bedroom lofts, refundable upon check-out provided no damages, smoking, or parties occurred.
Based on customer reviews, the experience at New Haven Village Suites appears to be mixed. Many guests appreciate the spaciousness of the suites and the convenience of having a full kitchen, free parking, and the pet-friendly policy. The proximity to Yale University and other New Haven attractions is also frequently cited as a positive.
However, some recurring concerns have been raised by recent guests. There have been reports of rooms being dirty or outdated, with issues such as bugs, cracked paint, dirty carpets, and unpleasant odors, including cigarette smoke despite the non-smoking policy. Maintenance issues, such as bathrooms needing repairs and dirty coffee pots, have also been mentioned. Service quality has been described as indifferent or slow by some, with challenges in obtaining refunds for unsatisfactory stays. It's important for prospective guests to consider these points and perhaps verify the condition of specific rooms or inquire about recent renovations if cleanliness and modernity are high priorities. While some reviews praise the helpfulness of the staff, others express dissatisfaction with customer service regarding complaints.
The hotel states it underwent redesigns and refurnishing in 2018 for some suites, aiming for a more residential feel. However, the varying nature of recent reviews suggests that the condition might differ across units. It is advisable to look at recent guest photos if available on booking platforms to get a current visual understanding.
In summary, New Haven Village Suites, under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, presents an option for travelers seeking more than a standard hotel room, with its all-suite layout and kitchen amenities. It caters well to extended stays and those with pets, offering convenient access to local points of interest and free parking. However, potential guests should be mindful of the mixed recent reviews regarding room condition and certain aspects of service, and consider contacting the hotel directly for the most up-to-date information on amenities and room quality, especially if these are critical factors for their stay.

It does have a kitchenet oh, you don't have any pans to cook with. I can actually say this is the last year I'm going to stay here. No stars from me
May 03, 2025 · Rene BakerOlder hotel that's been cheaply renovated. Rooms were clean suites with kitchenettes. No breakfast, thin walls, some maintenance issues. There was no way to turn on the shower, only the tub. Tub wouldn't drain. Not a bad stay for a roadside stop, but for the price I expected something a little nicer.
Jan 17, 2025 · Michael NaylorThis is a horrible place to stay at. The lady from the front desk was a such nice person but then we had a problem is such a mean person. IN the website says there is breakfast but there is nothing they said they changed “3 days ago” but why it’s still upp in the website. The room is not clean, they leave you just ONE roll of paper like that’s not enough for 3 days. We had 3 towels and the housekeeper entered because they put new towels in the table and they took our 3 towels that we brought from were we came in. I went to the office and reclaimed and the front desk lady with a such rude attitude said nobody took the towels and the housekeeper never entered bc we had a dog but how they took my towels from the bathroom and they left little towels in the table. I HAVE PROOF! I do not recommend this place at all. No free breakfast. Rooms are bad. There is a lot of stains in the floor.
Dec 31, 2024 · Sara LeyvaI just stayed here for work. What a nice place. It's like a little apartment. Clean and quiet And the bonus, most places that have full kitchens do not have breakfast but they do. Not sure what all of these other reviews are about because yes it may be a little older And no may not be luxury but it's clean, quiet, very spacious and the staff is all super friendly
