The service was excellent! When I was leaving I had a problem with my car and the man (maybe in his 30s) at the desk really helped me and went out of his way and helped me. He made sure the right people were called and everything was okay with me and my car. The room was great for the price and it was clean and neat. Location was very good and I felt safe there.

Environment: A Glimpse into Amish Country Charm

The Olde Amish Inn Ronks is designed to offer a comfortable and accessible environment, reflecting its location in the serene Amish Country. While it's a budget hotel, many guests find the rooms to be clean and neat, especially considering the price point. The property is designed with an exterior corridor layout, which is common for inns of this type. Some rooms may offer garden or inner courtyard views, providing a pleasant outlook. While some reviews mention older infrastructure, such as creaky beds or minor aesthetic issues like dated carpets, other guests have been "pleasantly surprised by refurbished hotel and room," indicating ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade the property. Its setting allows for a generally "mostly quiet" atmosphere, offering a respite from bustling city life, although some instances of noise from other guests have been reported. A unique environmental feature is the hotel's gazebo, which overlooks a working Amish farm next door, providing guests with a direct and peaceful connection to the local countryside. The hotel’s location itself, nestled amidst rolling farmlands and close to routes where horse-drawn buggies are a common sight, truly immerses guests in the Amish experience. Despite isolated negative experiences regarding cleanliness or noise from a few specific guests, the overall sentiment is that the environment is safe and provides good value for its location.

Services: Essential Comforts and Helpful Assistance

The Olde Amish Inn Ronks focuses on providing essential services to ensure a convenient and hassle-free stay. A key amenity for guests is the complimentary continental breakfast, typically featuring items like bagels, cereal, and muffins, offering a simple start to the day. While not a gourmet spread, it's a valuable inclusion that adds to the hotel's affordability. Guests can stay connected with free Wi-Fi available in all rooms and public areas, a crucial service for modern travelers. The inn provides complimentary self-parking on site, which is highly convenient for those exploring the area by car. A 24-hour front desk is available, ensuring that guests can check in or receive assistance at any time. The staff at the Olde Amish Inn has received particular praise for their helpfulness and excellent service. One notable review highlights a staff member going "out of his way" to assist a guest with a car problem, demonstrating a commitment to guest care beyond basic services. Other standard services include daily housekeeping, ensuring rooms remain tidy throughout a stay, and access to vending machines for beverages and snacks. The hotel also offers tour/ticket assistance at the front desk, which can be very useful for guests planning to visit local attractions in the vast Lancaster County area. While there isn't an on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner, its proximity to various local dining options is often highlighted.

Features: Practicality and Local Flair

Rooms are available with either one king bed or two queen beds, catering to solo travelers, couples, or families. Some reviews mention that the beds can be creaky, but others find them comfortable. The floral décor and carpeted floors (though some pet-friendly rooms might feature laminate for easier cleaning, which is not applicable here as the hotel explicitly states pets are not allowed) contribute to a cozy, traditional inn feel. Non-smoking rooms are available, and the property is generally smoke-free, though isolated reviews mention a smoke smell. The hotel also features accessibility considerations, with wheelchair-accessible paths of travel, parking, and a well-lit path to the entrance, along with handrails in stairways. Security features include a carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and security system. The ability to request ground floor rooms is also a practical feature for some guests. The gazebo overlooking the Amish farm is a distinctive feature, providing a tranquil spot for relaxation.

Guests are encouraged to search these platforms or contact the hotel directly at (717) 393-3100 or +1 717-393-3100 for the most current pricing and any available promotions. For instance, platforms like Kayak constantly scour the web for room deals, allowing travelers to compare rates. I will not stay here again, me and my fiance booked a room last minute thinking it would be good because of the price. It was $88 advertised, come to find out they took $140, the room was dirty and the beds were creaky and loud and we felt very unsafe, there were also people living there and they were playing music very loud and they were also talking very loud, we sat in our room before checking out after 10 minutes. Do not recommend staying here.

After plans fell through I had to go here instead of my original hotel. Well it isn’t as nice as the hotels nearby the man who worked the front desk was incredibly nice, understanding, and helpful. And for 60 bucks a night the room was very nice and the TV got a lot of great channels. The AC/Heat worked very well, WiFi was great, beds were nice, not many towels. Great for such a cheap prince. Amazing for a budget trip, no serious complains, just a lack of towels and a little rust in the shower. But room was clean.

Don't. Just... DON'T. I got stuck in this place when I neglected to make a reservation ahead of time. Hurricane Helene came through the day or two before causing a shortage of accommodations further south and I had to keep driving north. When I couldn't go any further I got off the highway at Ronks and took the first place that popped up in Expedia. What a mistake. For openers, the image shown online is of an actual farm about an eighth of a mile off the back of the hotel property. It has NOTHING to do with the type of building you are actually staying in. The hotel is your standard, all-doors-face-the- parking-lot situation. Two levels on both front and back of the building. Upstairs has an internal hallway and it appears that that's where the owner / family live. There is no lobby. Back half of the building is being used as a "long term rental" arrangement. That means the residents are up, outside, all night long drinking and smoking. One old woman who speaks no English at all is the housekeeper and her standards may be those of whatever country she comes from but it sure ain't this one. I found PUBIC HAIRS in the nightstand, next to the cockroach gel bats in its corners. The place stank. Not sure of what but it doubtless comes out of the human body. The AC had one setting, FROZEN. The sink dripped. The metal door frames were rusty. The dead bolt lock to the exterior did not function. There was a fist sized hole in the wall where the TV was. I did not FIND bedbugs (or roaches) but then I didn't stay long enough to tear the place apart, only long enough to use the bathroom and get a meal across the street at the one blessed sight: A waffle House. I couldn't bring myself to lay down on those beds so I spent most of the night in my car. Do yourself a favor and your family a service... FIND SOMEPLACE ELSE!
