Stay away from this Hotel. Very outdated and run down. Paint peeling off walls in the lobby. Bugs in rooms. Homeless people renting rooms and laying all over the place. Felt more like the Projects Buildings or Section 8 living quarters in a bad neighborhood. Dogs everywhere and barking all night long. Gambling Machines in lobby with people playing them. Continental breakfast is an outdated coffee machine in lobby. Pool has not been opened or probably cleaned in years. Location is good on main drag for everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful but they are dealing with a run down hotel with many problems there. Pictures on site is not what it looks like. Maybe 25 years ago then yes. Would NEVER STAY there again. Scared to sleep at night with all the weird people all over the place. Door Locks on my room were broken and the window was unlocked when and open when I went into the room. Also the smell in the building was terrible. It was a last minute place to stay while passing thru town for the weekend. Called and made reservations due to website. Thought the RED ROOF INN would be at least good but found out I was wrong. Would have rather slept in my truck. Have a $100 bill ready to hand them for a room deposit to make sure you do not damage the already damaged rooms. What a joke. Red Roof Inn should close that place because its an eye sore for their company. Was worried about my truck being broken into at night by the people living there.

Red Roof Inn Lancaster - Strasburg Introduce

For local users exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" and seeking budget-friendly accommodation in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area, the Red Roof Inn Lancaster - Strasburg might appear as an option. Located at 2390 Lincoln Hwy, Lancaster, PA 17602, USA, this hotel is part of a widely recognized economy lodging chain. This objective introduction will provide details on its environment, services, features, and any promotional information, drawing from available public information and recent customer reviews to offer a comprehensive and balanced perspective.

The Red Roof Inn Lancaster - Strasburg is situated on Lincoln Highway, a main thoroughfare in Lancaster. This location is often highlighted as a convenient aspect, placing guests on a "main drag for everything," suggesting easy access to various local attractions, dining establishments, and points of interest by car. While the address indicates a Lancaster location, the "Strasburg" in its name suggests proximity to the historic town of Strasburg, known for its railroad museum and other attractions. This offers a potentially good base for exploring both urban Lancaster and the surrounding Amish Country. However, it's important to note that the immediate environment around the hotel, despite being on a main road, is an area of concern for some guests, with descriptions of a run-down appearance.

The general environment of the hotel, as described by recent customers, points to an older property that may be in need of significant updates. Reviews mention "very outdated and run down" conditions, with "paint peeling off walls in the lobby" and a "terrible smell in the building." Some guests have expressed feeling unsafe or uncomfortable due to the presence of "homeless people renting rooms and laying all over the place" and "weird people all over the place," leading to concerns about personal security and vehicle safety. The presence of "dogs everywhere and barking all night long" also contributes to a potentially disruptive environment for some guests. Furthermore, reports of "gambling machines in lobby with people playing them" paint a picture that deviates significantly from a standard hotel lobby experience.

In terms of services, the Red Roof Inn brand generally aims to provide basic, no-frills accommodation. The hotel's phone numbers are (717) 397-6531 and +1 717-397-6531 for inquiries and reservations. Customer reviews indicate that the "Staff were very friendly and helpful," suggesting that while the physical infrastructure may be lacking, the human element of service from the employees is a positive aspect, despite them "dealing with a run down hotel with many problems." A "continental breakfast" is mentioned, though described as "an outdated coffee machine in lobby," which suggests a very minimal offering. Housekeeping services are typically provided, but guest feedback implies potential cleanliness issues within the rooms themselves, such as finding "a piece of glass" on the floor. For guests with accessibility needs, an "accessible room" was provided in one instance, though the lobby was reportedly "not wheelchair-friendly," which presents a significant barrier to entry and check-in for individuals with mobility challenges.

The features of the Red Roof Inn Lancaster - Strasburg, based on customer accounts, fall short of standard expectations for even economy hotels. Room conditions are described as having "bugs," "broken" door locks, and "unlocked and open" windows upon entry, raising serious safety and security concerns. Bathrooms, while not explicitly detailed in extent, are implied to be part of an overall outdated experience. The general appearance of the property is likened to "Projects Buildings or Section 8 living quarters in a bad neighborhood," and the property's pictures online are said to be misleading, reflecting a state "Maybe 25 years ago then yes." The mention of a pool that "has not been opened or probably cleaned in years" indicates that recreational facilities may not be operational or maintained to an acceptable standard. Guests are also reportedly charged a "room deposit" of $100, which, coupled with dissatisfaction about the room conditions, has led to frustration among visitors.

For potential guests, especially those searching on "Hotels Near Of Me" with the expectation of a typical Red Roof Inn experience, it is crucial to temper expectations. The brand is generally known for its pet-friendly policy and offering a convenient stopover, but the reviews for this specific location paint a picture of a property that does not consistently meet even basic standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort. The stated issues with room security (broken locks, unlocked windows), presence of bugs, and overall disrepair are significant concerns that prospective travelers should carefully consider. The loud slamming of entry doors and constant dog barking also contribute to a potentially noisy and unsettling environment.

Regarding promotional information, Red Roof Inn as a chain frequently offers various discounts and loyalty programs. These can include:

  • RediRewards: Their loyalty program offers points for stays, which can be redeemed for free nights. Members often receive exclusive discounts.
  • Advance Purchase Rates: Discounts for booking in advance.
  • Senior, Military, and AAA Discounts: Common affiliations offering reduced rates.
  • "Kids Stay Free" Policy: Children typically stay free with an adult.
  • Pet-Friendly Stays: Red Roof Inn is generally known for not charging extra for pets, which is a key promotional point for many travelers.
However, given the severe issues highlighted in recent customer reviews for this particular location, guests are strongly advised to exercise caution. While the general Red Roof Inn brand might promote value and pet-friendliness, the actual experience at this specific property, as described by multiple guests, suggests that the perceived value may be significantly diminished due to the condition and atmosphere of the hotel. Prospective guests should consider direct calls to the hotel to verify specific conditions or policies if they are still considering a stay here, or explore alternative accommodations in the Lancaster area that may offer a more reliable and comfortable experience, even if at a slightly higher price point. The reported $148 room charge plus a $100 deposit for a facility described as providing "1-star service" for a "4-star price" suggests a significant mismatch between cost and quality.

In conclusion, while Red Roof Inn Lancaster - Strasburg is geographically situated on a main road, offering accessibility to Lancaster and Strasburg attractions, recent and consistent customer feedback indicates significant deficiencies in its environment, room conditions, and overall guest experience. Descriptions of an outdated, run-down property with safety concerns, cleanliness issues, and a disruptive atmosphere paint a picture that strongly advises caution. For local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," it is critical to weigh the potentially low price point against the reported severe issues and consider whether this property aligns with their expectations for a safe, clean, and comfortable stay, even for an economy option.

I stayed at this hotel last weekend with my handicapped daughter, and while we were given an accessible room, the rest of the experience was extremely disappointing. The lobby is not wheelchair-friendly! Having to leave my daughter outside alone while checking in was a little scary & upsetting. The floor in the room was absolutely unacceptable! I stepped on a piece of glass & cut my foot! On top of that, the door entering the building slams shut with a loud bang, which is startling & annoying. To make things worse, I was charged $148 for the room plus a $100 deposit—4-star price for 1-star service. I expected much better.

You have to give this hotel a 1 star in order to leave a review, it's not worth 1 star. When we got there, we had to sign a paper stating "no smoking", but yet the side building we were in (room 133) smelled so bad of cigarettes and Marijuana it was sickening. Then someone had a dog that kept barking at all hours. On the other side of us, from 2:00 AM Till 4:00AM, nothing but LOUD screaming, profanity, fighting, and door slamming. (Only thing we didn't hear was gun shots, which I expected with the way they were fighting) they either killed each other or passed out alittle after 4:00AM. We only had 1 washcloth for the 2 of us. Floor was so sticky, your shoes actually stuck fast. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN... Don't give me you are sorry for what we went through and will pass along info to get it takin care of, because I believe with all the other complaints nothing will be done. Were told we can't get money back. Even though it was to the point I really wanted to get out of there, but was afraid to leave room in the dark. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

My husband and I stayed only for a few hours and was bitten by fleas and left with bites all over and the room smelt like wet dog and the carpet in the hallway was saturated with fabuloso. This hotel needs to be reported due to the fleas and the charge of $100 when it never said anything about that when I reserved the room for that night. This motel was just horrible and will not ever book a room again at this location. Reading previous reviews and nothing has changed shows me no matter your response it's a waste of your time and mine.

Good location however the room, while clean, had several broken items. The air-conditioning unit had issues. There were several items with missing covers and/or handles. The desk chair was torn up. The toilet ran intermittently. The mattress was thin and had sunken areas - it needed to be replaced. It is a good location, but wasn't worth the money paid. It is unusual in my experience with the chain
