Staying here for 7 nights, Sunday to Sunday. We have dogs with us, so we tried to be out of the room as much as possible so they can clean. Requested housekeeping on Tuesday, and didn’t get it. Requested again on Wednesday, and didn’t get it. Ended up getting replacement towels and trash pick up after housekeeping staff left. Requested again on Friday, with special request to have the room cleaned early since we knew we were going to be gone. Came back around noon and still no service. I asked the staff (in the hallway) if they could do my room next and was told she can’t do it because we have dogs. I told her we would take the dogs out, and she said she still couldn’t because of the pet dander. …mic drop… I asked if they had someone else that could do it and she radioed the front desk. Was later told that Brittany would do it. We left for lunch, and now it’s 3pm and STILL no service. We have stayed here many times and it was previously a good experience. This has been horrible customer service, and I haven’t mentioned a lot of other things that have transpired during our stay. We will not be staying here again. Update… 3:30 and I called the front desk to see if we are ever going to get housekeeping to come and was told maybe, if they can get to us. Mic drop again… my guess is we’ll never get housekeeping. Two rooms, $2000 later… this place sucks.
For those living in or traveling through the Illinois region, particularly in and around Dixon, finding a hotel that offers a convenient and affordable place to stay is often a top priority. The Quality Inn & Suites Dixon near I-88 presents itself as an option for travelers on a budget, providing a place to rest with a number of standard amenities. It’s a hotel that, on paper, seems to cater to a wide range of guests, from families with pets to business professionals needing a quick stop. The brand itself is well-known, and hotels under this name typically promise a decent value for the price. However, as with any hotel, the actual experience can vary significantly from what is advertised. Public data and customer reviews suggest that while the hotel aims to offer a comfortable stay, there have been some serious issues regarding service and maintenance that potential guests should be aware of. This makes it crucial for anyone considering a stay here to do their research and manage their expectations accordingly, especially if they are planning a longer visit or traveling with specific needs.
The concept of a hotel is to provide a reliable and pleasant "home away from home" experience. A good stay can make a trip, while a poor one can sour it. For local residents in Illinois, this hotel might be considered for hosting out-of-town guests or for a quick overnight stay to attend an event in the Dixon area. However, recent feedback suggests that relying on this location for a flawless experience may be a risk. A detailed customer review from a guest staying for seven nights with their dogs highlights significant and persistent issues with housekeeping, which they eventually were told could not be provided due to the presence of pets. This directly contradicts the promise of being a pet-friendly establishment. Another reviewer, who booked the hotel for a family reunion, experienced multiple problems including an uncleaned room, a lack of basic amenities like a shower curtain and towels, and a non-functional pool despite it being advertised. These firsthand accounts suggest a hotel that is struggling with its basic operations, a factor that is vital for locals to consider before they book rooms for themselves or their loved ones. It’s a place where the value proposition is currently being undermined by a lack of consistent and reliable service.
The Quality Inn & Suites Dixon near I-88 is located at 136 Plaza Dr, Dixon, IL 61021, USA. This location offers great accessibility for anyone traveling by car. It is strategically positioned just off Interstate 88, a major tollway connecting the Quad Cities to the Chicago metropolitan area. This makes the hotel a logical and convenient stopping point for those on a road trip, particularly for those heading to or from Chicago. The hotel's address also places it near major roadways like Route 26, which runs through Dixon, providing easy access to the city’s downtown and other local attractions. The area around the hotel is a commercial hub, which means there are a variety of dining options, gas stations, and other essential services within a short drive. For those interested in local history, the hotel is just a few minutes away from the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home and the Dixon Historic Center. The location provides easy access to the Rock River and its scenic beauty, offering opportunities for outdoor activities like walking and fishing. For business travelers, the hotel’s proximity to I-88 simplifies the commute to various corporate offices and industrial sites in the area, a major advantage for those on a tight schedule.
While the location provides logistical convenience, the reviews suggest that the on-site experience may not match the ease of access. The hotel is situated in an area that makes it a convenient hub, but the public feedback highlights that this convenience may come with a compromise on quality and service. For local residents in Illinois, this hotel could be an option for a temporary stay, but the accounts of a lack of housekeeping and a non-functional pool, which was a key reason for a family booking, are significant red flags. The hotel's location near local landmarks like the John Deere Historic Site and the Dixon Memorial Arch is a plus, but the travel experience itself seems to be the main point of contention for many guests. The hotel's address on Plaza Drive places it in a commercial zone that is easy to navigate, but the negative customer reviews indicate that the convenience of the location may not be enough to overcome the issues with the property itself. It is essential for travelers to weigh the benefits of the location against the documented shortcomings in service and amenities.

Jul 04, 2025 · Stephen WipprechtI'd leave fewer stars if I could. This hotel experience was horrible. At check in I had to call to find someone to come to the front desk. The first room I was given had someone else's stuff still on the bed (or else housekeeping left a bunch of stuff there). My second room didn't have a shower curtain and only had one towel. When I found housekeeping in the hallway, they didn't have any towels to give me. I had to get a new room key every single day of my four night stay since they seemed unable to make a key that would last for the entire stay. The pool was under construction, even though they advertised themselves as having a pool. I was in town for a family reunion and booked this hotel as it was conveniently located. Many, many of my relatives also booked there on my suggestion. All of them had bad experiences as well. Don't book this hotel.
Jul 25, 2025 · Kathleen RakestrawA vacuum would go a LONG way in this place. IF our room floor had been vacuumed, the vacuum was either clogged or simply didn’t work. The hallway and elevator carpets needed to be vacuumed as well. Carpet in the room could use a shampoo too. The bedding was clean and bed/pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Decent selection though I did notice there was no milk. Possible just an oversight. Didn’t need it so I didn’t ask for any. Conveniently located and a room was available at 10 pm- thought we’d make it farther down the road.
Jul 13, 2025 · Tammie FerrisI will NEVER stay at another Choice Hotel again. This is the very first hotel chain that has charged my credit card right away for my entire stay. Every other hotel brand put a hold on your card for the total amount of your stay plus incidentals but do not charge you until you check out. On top of that the staff was unfriendly, you have to ask for your room to be serviced no regularly scheduled cleaning service available. The rooms are super dated with a huge jacuzzi that looked disgusting. I would not stay here ever again, the problem is the area is limited on viable lodging options. Definitely not one of my favorite experiences.
Jun 13, 2025 · William WilderI rented a room here for $130 I was in the room for about an hour I turned the blow dryer on it bursts into flames I told the guy at the front desk he came into the room and said that they check all the rooms before they rent them out and this was my fault he told me they are completely booked up and I cannot get a new room so I said can I get a discount or something he told me no he said if you don't like it you can leave he immediately called the police. The police officers apologized to me and said that this isn't right but if he is asking you to leave you have to leave they told me to call corporate to get my money back they literally robbed me. Please do not support this business and give these people money these are horrible people go to any of the hotels nearby they're nicer anyways he also told me on the way out that he is going to charge me for the blowdryer.
