Located in the heart of Bar Harbor and walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and wharf, this hotel is a hidden gem. While the bed was alittle hard for my liking, that's the only issue I could find. The hotel was dog friendly which was a major plus. The room was large and the facilities were extremely clean and well maintained. Highly recommend and can't wait to return on our next trip!!

Thematic Immersion: The hotel fully embraces its tall-ship theme, aiming to transport guests to a bygone era of maritime adventure. From decorative elements in the common areas to specific details within the rooms (like a "gale-strength" shower or a "porthole-sized mirror" in the bathroom), the theme is pervasive, creating a unique and memorable stay, often described as quirky and charming.
Balance of Location: It successfully balances proximity to downtown attractions with a quiet residential feel. This means guests get the best of both worlds: easy access to Bar Harbor's lively center and a peaceful retreat when they return to the hotel.
Room Variety: The range of room types, including those with fireplaces or spa baths, caters to different preferences and budgets, from "budget" rooms to more luxurious options.
Pet-Friendly Policy: While one past review mentioned it was dog-friendly, recent information from the hotel's policies and external booking sites indicates that Queen Anne's Revenge does not allow pets. Therefore, guests looking for pet-friendly accommodation should confirm this directly with the hotel prior to booking to avoid any disappointment. (Information based on current and widely available data indicates "No pets allowed" on Booking.com, Expedia, and BringFido.com, as well as the hotel's direct policies page.)
High Cleanliness and Staff Ratings: Review data consistently shows high scores for cleanliness, staff & service, and property conditions, indicating a well-maintained property and a dedicated team.
The Queen Anne's Revenge leverages its unique identity and offerings in its promotional efforts:
"Experience the Era of Tall Ships": This is the central hook, attracting travelers seeking a distinct and imaginative hotel stay rather than a generic one. The thematic decor and atmosphere are a strong draw.
"Hidden Gem in the Heart of Bar Harbor": This phrase from a guest review perfectly encapsulates the appeal of its quiet yet convenient downtown location. It promises both accessibility to attractions and a peaceful retreat.
"Complimentary Breakfast and Parking": These highly valued amenities offer tangible benefits, enhancing the overall value proposition for guests.
"Rooms with Fireplaces and Spa Baths": Highlighting these luxurious features allows the hotel to attract guests looking for an elevated and romantic experience, particularly in the Signature and Superior room categories.
"Excellent Base for Acadia National Park": For the vast number of visitors to Bar Harbor who come for the national park, the hotel's close proximity and easy access are significant selling points.

May 20, 2025 路 Brian PedalinoQueen Anne's Revenge advertises itself as a hotel that celebrates the era of tall ships- and it certainly delivers! I do have one true gripe, but I'll save that for the end my my review. I found the accommodations reasonably priced- though I did opt for the "budget" room. The location is far enough from downtown that the street is quiet and feels secluded, but close enough for moderately active people to walk to any of the Bar Harbor sights or attractions. I was excited for the on-site bar, the Black Spot, but it wasn't open during our stay. The "breakfast snacks" were more than adequate for us, and I appreciated the touch of complimentary champagne to celebrate our arrival! The hotel exterior and interior are styled in a sort of TJ MAXX-esque, pinterest pirate decor- lots of fake plants and gold accessories, with a few incredibly charming details such as the front door handle shaped like a hand, reaching out to shake yours. Our room is where the hotel really delivered at providing a tall-ship experience. The gale-stregnth force of the shower caused the thin shower curtain to billow as if in a sea breeze. The small bathroom, reminisent of the small space allocated to the "head" on any boat was highlighted by the port-hole sized mirror and brass details showing wear or corrosion- just part of life on the open sea. The carpet looked like it was patterned on waves, but was in need of a good clean, so more closely resembled the planks of a ship. My one complaint? One of the decor items was a medium-sized propeller- part of a completely different type of ship and completely inappropriate for a tall-ship themed hotel.
May 10, 2025 路 Anaya JonesWe made a last minute reservation after the season. Quirky place. Loved the hand as a door handle on entry. Coffee and tea available 24 hours which was nice. Parking is free but not plentiful. The bed was quite high for this old lady. It was difficult. The shower was fairly small. The room was nice with plenty of space. Breakfast pastries were forgettable, but it was nice to have available. Bar Harbor is very expensive, even off season. Parking for restaurants is required as well. No break for night or after the season.
Nov 08, 2024 路 Viola BrittBest lodging we've experienced so far! My husband and I stayed in the room called "Standard Queen with Fireplace and Jacuzzi Tub". I don't know if any of the other rooms come with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub, but this room was very romantic and relaxing. If you get this room, make sure you ask the front desk for the fire logs and light up the fireplace to add to your private spa experience in the jacuzzi area of the room =) 24/7 coffee and tea. Complimentary breakfast snacks and juices in the morning (i.e. cereal, muffins, bread, bagels, coffee cake, oatmeal, danish, etc.). Free parking. Nice little tavern next door to the complex. Oh and complimentary champagne upon checking in, what a lovely way to welcome guests!!
Oct 13, 2024 路 Allison VillaIdeal location to stay in bar harbor! Within walking distance to all of the best restaurants and shops. Had the best of both worlds being so close to everything but also tucked down a quiet street. We enjoyed the beautiful room, comfy bed, and balcony. The room had everything we needed for the short stay! The staff were so helpful and friendly! Breakfast had plenty of options. Had a lovely time and would stay again 馃槍
