I see a lot of reviews that just don’t add up to me ! I stayed for 3 nights and our room was very clean the staff was amazing, pool closes at a decent time (10pm) which is not too early at all. The breakfast is good as well! It’s self serve; waffle maker, fruit, bagels, bread cereal bar, and then the classics. There were no bugs the room was very clean hot water was fine. The WiFi DOES suck though. And there’s definitely sketchy drug deals as mentioned in other reviews, but that can’t fall on the hotel staff ! The hotel itself is amazing. I’d avoid the bar though, I paid $21 for ONE drink which is RIDICULOUS but that also doesn’t fall on the hotel as the bar has separate owners. Anything we needed we asked and we received! I’d definitely recommend. Also having a bottom floor with the sliding doors was very convenient since we got to park our car right outside our room.

As a property listed within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category, this hotel aims to provide accessible and convenient lodging for local users and travelers in the Windsor Locks area, particularly those utilizing Bradley International Airport (BDL). The "Hotels Near Of Me" category serves to connect individuals with readily available services and goods in their immediate vicinity, and Ramada by Wyndham Hartford North / Bradley Airport represents an option for accommodation in this key transportation hub.

Environment:

Ramada by Wyndham Hartford North / Bradley Airport is located on S Center St in Windsor Locks, a town defined by its close proximity to Bradley International Airport. The environment surrounding the hotel is typical of an airport-adjacent area, featuring other hotels, airport-related businesses, and commercial establishments. It offers convenience for air travelers due to its direct access to the airport. The overall setting is functional, catering to transient guests, rather than being a scenic or residential locale. While specific details on exterior aesthetics or landscaping are not widely available, the hotel's placement suggests ease of vehicular access and ample parking. The "bottom floor with sliding doors" mentioned in a review implies direct outdoor access for some rooms, which can be convenient for parking right outside. However, this feature is also noted as a potential safety concern by one guest. The general ambiance reflects a typical roadside hotel, designed for practicality for travelers on the go. The reviews indicate that while the hotel itself has its merits, the immediate vicinity might present some external issues, such as "sketchy drug deals," which, as one reviewer notes, are outside the hotel's direct control.

Services and Features:

Ramada by Wyndham Hartford North / Bradley Airport offers a range of services and features commonly found in hotels of its brand and category, aiming to provide a functional and comfortable stay for its guests. Based on the provided customer feedback and general knowledge of Ramada properties, the hotel typically provides:

  • Accommodation: Guest rooms are expected to include standard amenities such as a private bathroom, television, and climate control. One reviewer specifically praises the "very clean" rooms and the availability of "hot water," which are fundamental aspects of a comfortable stay. The mention of "bottom floor with the sliding doors" suggests a convenient feature allowing guests to park directly outside their room, though this also raises safety concerns for some solo female travelers.

  • Complimentary Breakfast: The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, described as "good" and "self-serve." The spread includes typical items like a waffle maker, fruit, bagels, bread, and a cereal bar, along with "the classics." This is a significant value-added service for guests.

  • Swimming Pool: An indoor swimming pool is available, with a "decent time" closing at 10 pm, which is generally convenient for guests looking to relax. This amenity is a key feature for both leisure and family travelers.

  • Internet Access: Wi-Fi is provided, though one review explicitly states that the "WiFi DOES suck though," indicating a potential area for improvement in connectivity speed or reliability.

  • Parking: Ample on-site parking is implied, especially with the mention of parking "right outside our room" for ground-floor guests with sliding doors.

  • Front Desk Services: The staff is described as "amazing," "anything we needed we asked and we received!" This highlights a responsive and helpful front desk team, eager to assist guests with their needs. The quick response to an issue (offering a different room within 10 minutes) also points to a proactive approach to guest satisfaction, even if the guest ultimately chose not to stay.

  • On-site Bar: The hotel has an on-site bar, though it is noted to have "separate owners" and pricing for drinks ("$21 for ONE drink") was considered "RIDICULOUS" by one guest. This distinction is important for guests considering on-site dining/drinking options.

Promotional Information and Customer Feedback:

The customer reviews for Ramada by Wyndham Hartford North / Bradley Airport offer starkly contrasting perspectives, which provides a comprehensive, albeit complex, objective introduction for local users. These reviews highlight both significant strengths and serious concerns.

One highly positive review enthusiastically promotes the hotel: "I stayed for 3 nights and our room was very clean the staff was amazing, pool closes at a decent time (10pm) which is not too early at all. The breakfast is good as well!... There were no bugs the room was very clean hot water was fine... The hotel itself is amazing. I’d definitely recommend. Also having a bottom floor with the sliding doors was very convenient since we got to park our car right outside our room." This feedback directly promotes key aspects: cleanliness of rooms, excellent staff, convenient pool hours, a good breakfast spread, and the unique benefit of ground-floor parking access. The strong recommendation ("I’d definitely recommend") indicates a very satisfactory experience for this guest. The explicit denial of "bugs" also addresses a common hotel concern, positioning the hotel positively in this regard.

However, another review presents a severely negative experience: "Let me start by saying if I could have a zero selected on this hotel I would. I booked this hotel in hopes that it was exactly like the pictures because those pictures did a lot of justice. I walked into the hotel saw that it was a disgusting place as soon as I entered my room. It smelled of smoke, but Matt with a lot of air fresheners. The room was dirty, and it felt very unsafe, especially being on the first floor and a woman being alone. The slider door did not feel safe. I checked right out of the hotel 10 minutes after telling them my issues they tried to put me in a different room, but nothing would make me want to stay there. I contacted my credit card company to tell them about this because I booked it through them and they tried very hard to get in contact with the hotel but no one would call them back to issue me a refund. I hope no one else makes a mistake of booking this hotel it is purely disgusting and they are hard to work with. They didn’t even refund me and I stay there 10 minutes. DONT BOOK THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISGUSTED!!!" This review raises serious concerns about cleanliness ("disgusting place," "smelled of smoke," "room was dirty"), safety ("felt very unsafe," "slider door did not feel safe"), and customer service regarding refunds ("hard to work with," "didn’t even refund me"). The stark contrast in cleanliness perceptions between the two reviews is particularly notable, suggesting inconsistency or varying standards across rooms or over time. The safety concern for solo female travelers on the first floor, exacerbated by the sliding door, is also a critical piece of information for potential guests.

For users on a "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, Ramada by Wyndham Hartford North / Bradley Airport represents an option with highly divergent guest experiences. Promotional strengths include its friendly and responsive staff, a good complimentary breakfast, and the convenience of direct parking access for some rooms. It also offers basic amenities like a pool. However, potential guests must be aware of the significant risks highlighted by negative feedback, particularly concerning perceived cleanliness and safety issues in some rooms, as well as challenges with refund processing. The note about "sketchy drug deals" in the vicinity, while not attributed to the hotel staff, is also an environmental factor to consider. This hotel might appeal to budget-conscious travelers who prioritize friendly service and basic amenities and are prepared to potentially address initial room issues directly with staff. However, for those with higher expectations for consistent cleanliness, a feeling of absolute safety, or for sensitive travelers, these negative points warrant careful consideration. It is a hotel where recent positive experiences co-exist with very strong negative ones, making direct communication with the hotel or reviewing very recent feedback crucial before booking.

Found this hotel on Booking.com at a very reasonable price, versus the price when booking directly with the property... So based on the "savings" to be had, I jumped on the "deal"... The area is really scenic when you are nearing the property after exiting the highway... First flag 🚨: the exterior/parking lot/landscaping leaves much to be desired - my wife literally said "you are no longer involved in planning ANYTHING 😭"... At this point, I am expecting WHATEVER on the check-in, but I was pleasantly surprised on the walk in to the lobby 😍 - some capital 💰 was definitely spent on this area of the property and the indoor pool is a plus this time of year... I had to regain my wife's trust when I coaxed her into the lobby and she, like me, had the same smile... HOWEVER, Second flag 🚨: after you leave the main hallway/lobby, you enter the old section of the property - there was an orange peel on the carpet as we walked by and then we noticed small items of trash here and there (ex. gum wrapper, paper, peeling wallpaper near the entry to room)... Since we are talking about flags, let me get to the third one 🚨: the room was unacceptable upon not even close inspection - there were crumbs on various parts of the floor, there were multiple areas with small ants crawling around said crumbs, there was debris on the floor that indicated that the room hadn't been thoroughly swept, one of the chairs in the room has stains from food that had dried into the fabric... NOPE, we are not doing this, so onto the Front Desk to explain the conditions and request an immediate room change... The lady at the front desk was very apologetic and helpful, as she also was during check-in... She called someone on the radio/walkie talkie and explained the issue briefly and asked about another room... I heard the individual respond, when asked was the room clean, "YES"... It wasn't though 🤦🏿‍♂️, it was not as bad as the first room, but them mouse turds (could be from the guests opening the patio doors, which have no screens, but that is not our problem to solve)... My wife and I have a great evening ahead of us, so that is how the story goes regarding Ramada by Wyndham - Windsor Locks so far, but it will continue, BUT WHY... Just clean the rooms thoroughly after folks check out and it won't even be a need for me to be doing all this writing 😡

Stayed here for 4 days and we changed our first room because of clogging issues in the bathroom and water temperature . The rooms also didn’t seem like they were deep cleaned and there were white stains on the comforter. Our new room was better thanks to the man working upfront who was alot of help and very nice. When they switched shifts and a woman worked the front she wasn't very much help with anything and seemed like she didn’t want to do her job. It snowed all weekend and I noticed they never treated the parking. We checked out today at 10:50 am and of course our car was surrounded by snow and ice . We were stuck for 5 hours trying to free our car and when we tried to contact the woman in the lobby for salt or anything that could help she seemed as if she could care less about us being stuck in her parking lot. They had no tools! There were several cars trapped by snow and ice and the workers are offering nothing. I wouldn’t come back to this hotel in the winter!

Great hotel staff, clean hotel and rooms with a clean pool. The only downside I ran into was a short span of hot water, recommend they service their hot water. Otherwise a lovely stay.
