I stayed four nights with my two daughters and had mixed feelings. It is centrally located in downtown Marquette and that is the best thing this hotel has going for it. First unload into my king suite: The room was tidy however, I did find a live tick by the microwave, crushed it, brought it to the receptionist and told her my room number so it could be noted in my stay. I recognize it is the upper peninsula and this year has been especially bad for ticks so this really didn’t surprise me, but it was off putting nonetheless. The hotel does not have automatic doors in their entrance. This was very disappointing as I was an adult alone with two small children and needed to ferry belongings on each trip. My five year old was put to work to help me, only guests helped with holding doors. There are simply not enough staff at the hotel. My television was messed up in that someone prior changed the input and it could not be consistently switched back to cable for us to watch. With three requests to fix or exchange the television, I gave up and we just watched what we needed on the I pad. They do not offer daily check in with cleaning staff. I could have requested things, but just didn’t have such a need besides trash which I got my own bags to handle. The fridge was set on such a setting that it froze my leftovers and milk I had planned to feed the kids the next day. Sure, I could have checked before hand but it is never easy to tell what each mini fridge will crank out on any setting. Slabz the restaurant is gross, the food was overpriced and the staff took forever to even talk to me. I called to order a carry out and they acted like I was nuts. They do not have a breakfast included, that restaurant serves a breakfast but I am glad I never scheduled myself to need to use it. It just seems like the staff is really young or inexperienced with hospitality business. I am no ritzy customer but I felt like they were not well trained on communication or with service industry management. The elevator: my goodness, so old and somewhat scary. The least they could do is slap some wall paper on the scary industrial panels so it didn’t look like we could be transported to the boiler room instead of the hotel room. People were still smoking right outside the hotel entrance, which with rain just pushed it inside. Guess they didn’t see the laminated “no smoking within 30 feet of the building” sign that was on the ground since the tape failed. My daughter liked the pool and hot tub, those were clean and fun. I am grateful for the room as I needed a suite with my kids sleeping set up, but wish other aspects of the accommodations just came easier. The hotel needs some updates but was overall clean. Their housekeepers were visibly tired, probably not enough of them. No one was rude or anything, just not quite running a hotel with the hopes that their guests will want to come back.

Jul 15, 2025 · Grace KuslerHad THE BEST experience at the Marquette location, thanks to Sandy at the front desk. She was full of helpful info and gave us a great room. We Had a wonderful little landing where we could sit and ppl watch while we chatted. It was quiet, private and secluded. Thank you Sandy!
Jul 19, 2025 · Victoria RogersVery disappointed! The location in town was right across from a drug house, with people dealing drugs. Not safe to go outside alone. Allowing kids in the pool until 10pm screaming is NOT OK especially when guests came here to relax and sleep before 10 pm. Carpeting should be replaced since it is worn and dirty and parking lot should be cleaned up and not have trash all over it. I wont be back to waste my money.
Aug 01, 2025 · Melanie KinnunenThanks for the Wonderful 5 Star Hospitality Experience. The pool, spa, and sauna were all clean, from a back of the house Chart House clean perspective. The maids were in really cute French Maid looking outfits. It was the first time I experienced My Pillows, and I enjoyed them so much, my wife got me a couple. Thanks.
Jun 02, 2025 · Brandon W NicholasIndoor pool is nice, decent bar restaurant. The rooms need a face-lift bad, aging furniture, hallways, elevators. The staybridge is a short walk away if it is around the same price go there instead.
