I scheduled a family gathering using Ramada Meeting Room as our "base camp". The majority of us were from out of town so we also booked rooms for our stay. We had a total of 8 families and we all enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The service was excellent. The rooms were very nice and clean. Just behind the check in lobby is a good size open space that accommodates morning breakfast, a game area for kids and some general sitting space. We took advantage of the indoor pool as well as the exercise equipment (all of the equipment was working). All in all, a very pleasant stay. I would recommend to anyone.

May 31, 2025 · Debbie CooperWe were in town 1 night for graduation. The hotel was conveniently located for us. Check in was quick and the staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was comfortable but the shower drained slowly resulting in standing water. Breakfast was a terrible experience. My husband and I were 3rd in line to order and it took 10-15 minutes to place our order. We were told to sit down and she would bring coffee to the table. 45 minutes later we went back to the counter for coffee. I went back to the counter to add to my order. The sign stated orders taken till 930 at 925 I was told no. This was our only option to eat as there is not a breakfast bar. It will be Holiday Inn Express for me from now on.
Jun 16, 2025 · Pamela ManningThe hotel was the best option in the area. People were very friendly and the room spacious. We felt safe and had the little things you need while traveling ie coffee pot, fresh towels ,food and a laundry area. There was a nice sun-dried area that even sold water bottles and t shirts. The pool was nice but crowded and at one point closed for a full day. Breakfast was great and the ONLY option in the area. Breakfast started at 7 and we wished it was 6 given the amount of activity nearby and wishing for an early start. However we worked with it and the ladies working there made it worthwhile. Decent portion sizes too! The layout of the hotel is a little wonky with the central ice machine on the second floor. But the premises were really cute with spiral stair cases ,a game area and a glass elevator-fancy! Each room looks like a little house on the front and is secure by key card. Also a safety lock and dead bolt. Staff always greet you entering which adds extra security. We had one issue w ac which they fixed with a flip of the switch. Beds and bathroom very clean and smelled nice, not bleachy as some places. The room was perfect
Jun 09, 2025 · Stacey PenceUpon walking in the Ramada, it is beautiful and has activities for families, including a pool. But as someone mentioned, the room is lacking updates. We were starting to unpack, in room 203, and take a shower, then realized that the temperature was either hot or cold. There was no warm. They sent up the maintenance man who just said, "Yep, it doesn't work." The staff called the room and told us they found another room. We packed up, went back down to the lobby, exchanged keys, and got our next room, # 266. We took our nice WARM showers and then realized the AC didn't work in the room. We were roasting. Our only saving grace was that we could crack the windows, but there were no screens!!! A couple of mosquitoes made their way in. Also the night on the table/desk didnt work. The next morning, we were getting ready, and the sink drain closed, and the plunger controller on it was broken loose from the drain, so we had to find something to pop it up to use the sink. The staff was nice enough, but for the money we paid, we shouldn't have had the problems that we had. I was very disappointed. I chose this place as the nicer of the hotel offerings for my mother's trip to her birth town.
May 26, 2025 · Tamara Mercier (Tami)The Ramada is one of two hotels in Paintsville, KY as of this review. The staff are cordial and polite as one would expect. Rooms are a tad dated, and it could be time for a "freshening". As for amenities, there is a gaming room, pool, vending machines, what one might expect to find. Guest laundry consists of one washer and dryer, which, which seem to operate on the principle of faster is better. Dryer timer needs to be calibrated. FYI $4 to wash and dry (if you can call it that.) There is no free breakfast at this hotel, they do offer a breakfast bar, which upon check in they may say 7-10 AM...they quit taking orders at 9:30 plan accordingly. The contracted restaurant in the hotel is okay, it does offer a small selection of choices and is moderately priced, it's decor is also in need of refreshing. The adjacent bar area is small, cramped, and overpriced. There are other hotel choices if you're willing to drive 20-40 minutes to Paintsville, that depending on what you desire may be a better fit. Safe travels.
