The room was generally cleaned well. The toilet on the outside had some old urine and hair. The shower had some mold in the cracks. Otherwise, the bed and chairs were relatively clean. The computer chair could be replaced. Otherwise for the price it wasn’t terrible. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were generally kind and helpful. They use soap pumps instead of individual soaps which is actually kind of nice considering those individual soaps can be very small! The hallway could use some acoustic panels as it echos and the noise makes its way into the rooms

While the location is generally praised for its convenience, it's worth noting that the immediate environment around the hotel is typical of a roadside accommodation. Some guests have commented on noise from the hallway making its way into rooms, suggesting a need for better acoustic insulation, possibly with acoustic panels in the hallways. The hotel itself is a 100% smoke-free property, ensuring a fresh indoor environment for guests.
Red Roof Inn Greensburg focuses on providing essential services and amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. One of the most appreciated aspects is the provision of free Verified Wi-Fi throughout the property and in all rooms, allowing guests to stay connected effortlessly. The hotel also offers complimentary coffee in the lobby, a simple yet effective perk for guests.
Each guest room is equipped with a range of standard amenities to enhance convenience. These typically include a microwave and a mini-refrigerator, which are highly valued for keeping snacks, beverages, or leftovers. Rooms also feature a 49-inch TV with an extended cable package, providing more than 50 HD channels, including 12 premium movie channels, for in-room entertainment. Private bathrooms come with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries, and it's notable that the hotel uses soap pumps instead of individual soaps, which some guests find to be a positive and less wasteful alternative. Other in-room comforts include air conditioning, heating, desks, phones with free local and long-distance calls, irons, and ironing boards.
The hotel operates a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that assistance is always available for guests, whether for check-in, check-out, or any other inquiries. Vending machines are on-site for quick access to snacks and beverages. While the hotel does not typically offer a full complimentary breakfast, it does provide coffee/tea in a common area. Daily housekeeping services are provided for stays of 6 nights or less, with limited housekeeping for longer stays. Free self-parking is available on-site, including space for RVs, buses, and trucks, which is a significant advantage for travelers with larger vehicles. The hotel also offers laundry facilities/laundromat, which can be very useful for guests on longer trips, though some feedback has indicated potential noise or odor issues if a room is located directly adjacent to these facilities.
One of the most appealing features of the Red Roof Inn Greensburg, and a hallmark of the Red Roof Inn brand, is its pet-friendly policy. The hotel allows one well-behaved domestic pet (cat or dog) to stay free of charge, with a small fee for a second pet. This is a significant benefit for travelers who do not wish to leave their furry companions behind. Service animals are also welcome and are exempt from fees. This policy makes it a standout choice for pet owners searching for "Hotels Near Of Me."
Guests often highlight the friendly and helpful nature of the staff. Positive interactions with front desk personnel are frequently mentioned, with staff being described as kind, personable, and welcoming. This level of service contributes significantly to a positive guest experience, despite any minor facility-related concerns.
The hotel's value for money is also frequently praised, especially given the range of amenities provided, such as free Wi-Fi, microwaves, and mini-refrigerators in every room. While some older reviews noted minor cleanliness issues like urine or hair on the outside of toilets or mold in shower cracks, the overall cleanliness is generally reported to be good, with beds and chairs found to be relatively clean. The hotel strives to maintain cleanliness with daily disinfection in rooms and common areas, protective screens at the front desk, and contactless check-in/check-out options.
The rooms are described as generally clean and functional, with comfortable beds being a recurring positive comment. While some guests suggested that the computer chair could be replaced in certain rooms, the overall comfort for the price is often deemed acceptable. The hotel does not have an elevator, which is a consideration for guests with mobility issues or heavy luggage, but well-lit paths to the entrance are available.
Red Roof Inn frequently offers various discounts and deals, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers. These can include savings for AAA members, AARP members, government and military personnel, and senior travelers. Advance purchase options may also provide additional savings. The hotel also participates in the RediRewards loyalty program, allowing guests to earn points for stays that can be redeemed for future bookings.
When considering a stay at Red Roof Inn Greensburg, potential guests should keep a few points in mind. While the staff is generally commendable, a past review highlighted an issue with front desk staff providing receipts that only showed a zero balance rather than a detailed breakdown of charges. While this might be an isolated training issue, it’s advisable to confirm receipt details at check-out if specific documentation is required. Additionally, as noted, there can be noise from the hallway due to acoustics, so light sleepers might consider bringing earplugs. If coffee in the room is a must, some guests have noted the absence of an in-room coffee maker despite coffee being available in the lobby, so bringing your own might be an option. Early check-in might incur an additional fee, so planning arrival closer to the standard check-in time of 3:00 PM is recommended.
Overall, Red Roof Inn Greensburg stands out as a practical and affordable option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" search for travelers in the Greensburg, PA area. Its commitment to pet-friendliness, complimentary amenities, and generally positive staff interactions contribute to its appeal, particularly for those prioritizing value and convenience.

Dec 24, 2024 · TomThe front desk staff would not provide a receipt for my group stay at checkout. Instead they provided a Folio that just stated a zero balance. I called two days later asking for a receipt to be emailed and again they emailed a "folio" showing a zero balance but no other information such as credit card charged or amount charged. Very strange that a hotel as big as Red Roof Inn does not train their employees on how to provide receipts to customers.
May 03, 2025 · Hope CrockerHorrible experience at this location and worse, no follow up from management. Booked a last minute room to rest and stay the night after my wife had an evening event. Checked in with my two year old and upon entering the room and getting situated, we found a dirty washcloth in the bed under the comforter. We only needed one bed so i moved to the next one and went to throw it on the floor in the bathroom for the housekeepers the next day. When i turned on the light in the bathroom, it was evident that the toilet had been used post room cleaning as there was residue and hairs on the toilet seat. Knowing we were only staying till morning and not wanting to relocate to another area with our things and my baby, i cleaned it and let it slide. The straw that broke the camels back was when my two year old found a large 12" kitchen knife in a low unlocked drawer. I understand these rooms may be extended stay and providing utensils can be a nice thing, but they should never be left where they were less than two feet off the ground for a child to be able to access. At that time i contacted my wife and told her we would be departing and i would just drive through the night to return to ohio. Upon checking out, i politely informed the front desk agent of the three situations and that we would be checking out only hours after checking in. He couldn't do anything but understood, so I asked him to pass on my booking info to management so they could follow up with me. I never received a call and when following up with Expedia who i booked through, they were also told by the hotel that nothing could be done for this situation.
Jan 01, 2025 · Nathan GiesenRoom was DIRTY. Im talking leftover food in the bed and hair on the floor. Manager was really awful and rude to the point of it being seriously unacceptable. We all have bad days but it's a customer facing role, and taking your issues out on guests is uncool. Ranks as my #1 worst hotel experience as a result of this interaction. The rest of the staff were friendly at least. Stay somewhere else, or bring a sleeping bag with you because this place isn't cleaning the rooms and the manager doesn't care.
Dec 20, 2024 · Keira O'ConnellIf I could give this hotel a zero rating I would. I was on my way to the hotel and I was in a horrible car accident. I was unable to make my reservation granted what happened. I was in the hospital for weeks. When I finally got on my feet and was able to reach out to the hotel about what happened requesting a refund or some type of compensation seeing as though this was obviously something out of my control. I also reached out to Expedia the booking site who also reached out on my behalf. The manager of the hotel refused to respond to any email. It was over a week that Expedia emailed back and forth and made calls. Finally they received a response from the hotel denying my request for a refund or any type of compensation. I feel disappointed at the fact they would not even offer a partial refund or any kind of compensation due to the situation. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone nor will I ever consider this hotel for any stay thereafter. I would also suggest you think twice as well for if something were to come up in an emergency situation you will not receive any help from this establishment.
