Great location. Got there late, kids watching tv behind glass protected front desk. Eventually the mom came. Got my key, went to get McD's since it was the only thing openned. Got into my room, disgusting. Mold in the bathroom ceiling. Everything barely hanging. Cigarette burns everywhere (non-smoking room). Holes in bedding. Gross flimsy pillows. I was so tired, ate my McD's, was ready to go to sleep. But then turned on the lights to use the filthy bathroom. ROACHES everywhere!!! Instantly made me regret getting that room. So at 2 AM I am calling all the nearby hotels (that cost just $30 more a night), managed to get another room at BW. Go to the font desk, hand the lady my keys. Tell her the problem and that I will call tomorrow. She tells me that the manager will be in tomorrow. Next day, I get 4 hours of sleep and need be at my first meeting at 7. After grueling day, I call the place, no answer. I then decide to stop by. Another lady is working there, I explain to her the situation. She then tells me that the manager will be in tomorrow...again, and she can't do anything. Ok, I go back to my clean and friendly BW room, then go to more meetings. Next day I stop by...and get the same response. "The real manager will be in tomorrow." I called Priceline and they attempt to contact the management, no avail. I get emails saying that they are unable to get in touch with anyone, and there's nothing they can do. I then dispute the charge with my credit card, and ask for half of my money back...and now it says they've contacted the merchant, and they have until Jul 11th to respond. Respond. Still unresolved. At least I got some "conditional credit." In the end, Hickory is a great little town. People are amazing, food is good. Everything is clean and everyone is friendly. So please don't stay at this hotel and set a terrible start of your trip. Can't believe this place is not condemned for violating basic health codes.

Today, we're taking a closer look at Red Roof Inn Hickory, located right here in our beautiful state. We understand that convenience and comfort are top priorities, especially for those of us traveling within North Carolina. This article aims to provide a clear and factual overview of what you can expect from a stay at this hotel, drawing directly from publicly available information and real guest experiences.
Red Roof Inn Hickory is a widely recognized name in the budget-friendly hotel segment, offering a straightforward lodging option for travelers. However, it's crucial to have a comprehensive understanding before you book. While the hotel aims to provide essential amenities, recent guest feedback indicates that experiences can vary significantly. One detailed review highlights a challenging stay, citing concerns about room cleanliness, maintenance, and responsiveness of staff regarding issues. Specifically, issues such as mold, cigarette burns in non-smoking rooms, holes in bedding, flimsy pillows, and the presence of roaches were mentioned. This particular guest's attempt to resolve the situation met with repeated deferrals to a "manager who will be in tomorrow," leading to an unresolved issue.
Conversely, another review provides a more positive perspective on the staff's friendliness, helpfulness, and the room's cleanliness, although it was a shorter stay. It also praised the comfortable bed and convenient parking. These contrasting views suggest that while some aspects like location and basic amenities might be consistent, the quality of individual rooms and the resolution of issues can be inconsistent. Therefore, this overview will present a balanced view, allowing you, our fellow North Carolinians, to make an informed decision for your travel needs in Hickory.

Jun 12, 2025 · Yury S (YURI)The rooms aren't that great they could definitely do more sprucing up on the rooms for sure. They walls could be wiped down and the blankets could definitely be switched out for newer ones. Other than those two things this is not a bad establishment. (Beds could also be newer)
May 23, 2025 · Zoe Ravenmoor (Fox)DO NOT STAY HERE. This is one of the worst Hotels I've ever stayed at. The only, the absolutely only thing positive I can say is the price was fairly reasonable. Here is what was bad: * Filthy rooms *Stained Sheets and blankets *Cigarette burns in the bed spread of my supposed "non smoking" room *The people coming and going are rowdy and you'll hear noise and you'll hear things all hours of the night because the walls are paper thin. *The room was moldy *There was dried pet feces on the floor. *There was hair and grime and nastiness everywhere in the room. Shower, sink, various places on the floor. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere better.
Feb 16, 2025 · Jonathan AnthonyDont walk but run away!! By far the WORST red roof inn I've ever stayed at and red roof inn has always been my go to hotel. Supposed to be a smoking room but all I can smell is piss and smoke. Stained up linen, burn marks all over the blanket. Dirty ass walls. Looks like blood on them. Dirty towels. Broken bed and last but not least bedbugs and roaches. I'm currently sleeping in my van instead of room 110 only coming in to use the bathroom. I'm most definitely getting ahold of someone higher up than Google review and the desk clerk with plenty of pictures.
Mar 10, 2025 · Queen BStayed here multiple times and never had any problems at all, except for now having to move rooms at 1am because of weed smokers! Not suppose to smoke in the rooms but yet nothing is being done about them smoking and the smell getting into the other rooms! Absolutely ridiculous, run the drug heads off and accommodate your customers the right way!!
