When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Norwich, New York, the Red Roof Inn Norwich presents itself as a practical and often surprisingly comfortable option for travelers. Located at 75 N Broad St, Norwich, NY 13815, USA, this hotel is a familiar brand offering a no-frills approach to accommodation, primarily focusing on providing a clean, quiet, and comfortable place to sleep. While it carries the legacy of previous establishments, it has undergone recent updates to meet the contemporary needs of its guests.
The environment of the Red Roof Inn Norwich is typical of a roadside hotel, positioned for convenience along North Broad Street, a main thoroughfare in Norwich. This location offers easy access to the town's amenities, although Norwich itself is described by some as a town that "has seen better days." The hotel aims to provide a quiet internal environment, with one guest specifically noting they "never heard a single noise" during their stay, leading to excellent sleep. This suggests effective soundproofing or a generally peaceful setting despite being on a main road. While there isn't a grand outdoor space or extensive landscaping, the focus is on the interior comfort and functionality. The "repurposed" dining area, described as a former hallway, indicates a pragmatic use of space, reflecting the hotel's focus on essential amenities. For travelers passing through or needing a simple base, the immediate surroundings provide easy access to local services. The property is designed to be a straightforward lodging solution without the extensive communal areas of a full-service hotel.
The services at Red Roof Inn Norwich are geared towards efficiency and guest satisfaction, with a strong emphasis on the front desk experience. Andrew, a front desk staff member, received glowing praise for being "wonderful and super professional," demonstrating "first class, A+!" service. This level of personalized and polite interaction significantly enhances the guest experience. The hotel is noted for its adherence to a 24-hour cancellation policy "with 0 issues, no surprise charges," providing flexibility and peace of mind for travelers whose plans might change unexpectedly. While there's no in-house bar or restaurant, the hotel does offer a "continental breakfast," which one guest described as "cute." The availability of coffee and tea outside of breakfast hours is not explicitly guaranteed in the lobby, leading one guest to seek coffee elsewhere. However, the overall service seems to focus on providing essential needs efficiently. The responsiveness of the staff, even if requiring a call-out, indicates a commitment to assisting guests. Free Wi-Fi is typically a standard offering at Red Roof Inn properties, allowing guests to stay connected. The core service proposition is a reliable and hassle-free stay, particularly for those on the go.
Red Roof Inn Norwich features rooms designed for a comfortable and functional stay, with particular highlights on bedding and cleanliness. Guests have been "super impressed" by "crisp, super clean expensive cotton sheets and a luxury mattress," with the bed being described as "to die for." This emphasis on high-quality sleep comfort is a significant feature. Bathrooms are noted for being "super duper clean" with "fabulous hot shower," indicating attention to hygiene and guest comfort in essential areas. Impeccable AC (air conditioning) is available and effective, catering to guests who prefer very cold rooms. While some elements may reflect the building's age (e.g., a '70s-era smoke detector or a loud bathroom fan in one review), the overall impression of the room cleanliness and comfort is positive. Extra comforters are a nice touch, adding to the comfort of the beds. The room itself provides the basics for a good night's sleep without unnecessary frills. Being a Red Roof Inn, it's typically a pet-friendly establishment, allowing guests to travel with their furry companions, although it's always advisable to confirm specific pet policies and potential fees. The focus is on providing a clean, quiet, and comfortable room as the primary feature, which aligns with its "no-frills stay" categorization.
From a promotional standpoint, Red Roof Inn Norwich leverages its brand recognition as an affordable and reliable lodging option. Its key promotional messages revolve around value, cleanliness, and comfort. The overwhelmingly positive feedback on the "super clean" rooms, "luxury mattress," and "fabulous hot shower" serves as strong testimonials. The praise for the "super professional" front desk staff, like Andrew, highlights the hotel's commitment to excellent customer service, which can be a significant differentiator in the budget hotel segment. The flexible and hassle-free 24-hour cancellation policy is a promotional advantage that appeals to travelers concerned about unpredictable plans. While one review described the hotel as "overpriced" for the town, another found it to be an excellent value, suggesting a perception of value that can vary. The hotel would primarily target travelers seeking a dependable place to sleep without extensive amenities, often those on business trips, short leisure stays, or passing through Norwich. Its "no-frills stay" description effectively communicates its core offering. The ability to guarantee a quiet environment for the "best sleep" and its general cleanliness are significant selling points. The hotel's continued operation and positive reviews underscore its role as a practical and often surprisingly pleasant choice when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Norwich, NY, area, emphasizing comfort and value over luxury amenities.

I personally was super impressed with Red Roof. Crisp, super clean expensive cotton sheets and a luxury mattress- the bed is to die for, really. I was shocked! Super duper clean bathroom, fabulous hot shower, impeccable AC if you need it (I like my rooms super cold). Never heard a single noise and got the best sleep I've had in a while. Absolutely loved it! Andrew at the front desk was wonderful and super professional- he is truly first class, A+! And they follow the 24 hour cancellation policy with 0 issues, no surprise charges- I had to head back to NYC unexpectedly, and they simply issued a full refund for what remained. Awesome. I will definitely be back any time I am up here. Thanks again Andrew, and Red Roof!
May 20, 2025 · Anonymous PersonRed Roof Inn – Norwich, NY Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) This Red Roof Inn is the latest facelift on a decades-old Norwich establishment, but don’t expect much beyond the basics. It’s a no-frills stay—no in-house bar, no restaurant—just a place to sleep. One of the more peculiar choices is a former hallway downstairs, now repurposed into a "dining area," as if a long table with 12 chairs magically transforms a narrow corridor into a banquet hall. A+ for imagination, I suppose. The room itself carried remnants of the past, including a smoke detector that looked straight out of the '70s—possibly from when my aunt was head of housekeeping back when this was the Treadway Hotel and later a Howard Johnson’s. The bathroom fan was a nightmare, screeching loud enough to make you question if it was powered by a tortured spirit. That said, the beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the extra comforters were a nice touch. But at $112 per night, it's an overpriced stay in a town that feels like it was left in the hands of drunken city planners for the last 30 years. Norwich has seen better days—decades ago. If you're passing through, this place will do in a pinch, but for the price, you might want to keep driving.

Apr 18, 2025 · frank matthewsI am not going to lie. I expected less and got more. The rooms have been nicely updated and renovated. The staff and manager were extremely professional, courteous and helpful. They are working hard with what they have. Pool was closed and that's a negative but not a reflection on the rest of the hotel or it's staff. Ideally located within walking distance of everything. I recommend a stay here.
Aug 29, 2024 · Dean RobertsHad a wonderful one night stay in this hotel. Booked because the price was right. So pleasantly surprised by the place. The gentleman at the front desk when we arrived was very pleasant and gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner. Restaurants and park in walking distance of the hotel. The room was clean and had a very nice smell. This is the first I’ve seen a hotel room with laminate flooring, and I really liked it. The bathroom was clean with no smell or signs of mildew. And best of all it was quiet all night, no hallway or street noise. Will definitely stay again if I’m back in the area.
