This encounter was right out of the set of a movie script, yet I assure you it was real. Traveling by motorcycle on the return from NH, I pulled off the highway as an unexpected storm was fast approaching and getting later in the day. Realizing there was nothing around with dark clouds threatening, I quickly found this place on google maps simply hoping for an overhang of shelter. The wind and rain immediately set in just as I pulled into the parking lot, where a man who arrived nearly the same time approached while holding an umbrella. I asked and he asserted to be the owner. He inquired my reservation status as he was there waiting on a scheduled guest, but when finding out I did not, he still offered for me to pull my bike close to the building entrance and follow him into the closed screened in porch for shelter. We talked for a bit as I was hoping the storm would pass, but I ultimately took the offer for a room and stayed the night. Well the storm passed and I ended up cooking out on the back porch with a nice farmland view. Slept in comfort with a clean room and excellent shower. This place is privately owned and operated, some great history behind it, and the host is great. I would add this stop to the list if you are looking for a place to stay in the area. Thanks for having me!

Jun 23, 2024 · K SmallsA real gem. Clean and quiet for a great price. Good location. Room has a shared back porch overlooking cornfield. I plan to stay here whenever visiting the area.
Sep 29, 2024 · MichaelStayed here while our son was playing at Dream Park. Front desk was super friendly. My son left them one of his team's Cooperstown pins for display. Room was very clean and comfortable. The free washer/dryer was great too. Would definitely stay here again if in the area! Beautiful view from the back deck too!
Sep 24, 2017 · Nikki WoodrowUpstate NY isn't known for nice hotels or short term rentals (or really any kind of rentals). I've stayed at a few hotels, motels, and airbnbs in the area (Otsego, Delaware, and Chenango County) and this is the only one that is going to get my repeat business. The inn and its rooms are very clean, updated, and functional. Raquel, who manages and cleans the inn does an excellent job of taking care of the rooms and facilities. Most of the fixtures, appliances, electronics, and hardware in their rooms are relatively modern and work. This should not be something that I would need to mention in a lodging review, but after staying at so many accommodations that do not meet the bare minimum, I have to commend the owners and staff at the Redwood Inn. The beds, bedding, and temperature control in the rooms are nice as well. I didn't have a problem sleeping at all here even though I did hear a train nearby in the middle of the night. Other than that, the area is pretty quiet and remote, so light sleepers (my husband calls me a wriggly worm) should have few to no problems getting some shuteye. Pat and Sandy, the owners, are very friendly and accommodating as well. Pat was especially helpful about giving me tips about the services available in the area.
May 03, 2023 · Anh PhùngClean rooms, friendly staff. Everything was in working order, and my wife was pleased with the accommodations (she's a tough hotel critic). On site laundry is useful, views are great, back deck area and available gas grills are nice. Keurig coffee machine in room was helpful.
