The Rodeway Inn is situated in Jonesboro, Georgia, a suburban community located just south of Atlanta. Its address, 6370 Old Dixie Hwy, places it conveniently off Interstate 75, a major artery for travelers in the Southeastern United States. This strategic location offers relatively easy access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which is approximately 10.7 kilometers (about 6.6 miles) or a 12-15 minute drive away, depending on traffic conditions. This makes the hotel a feasible choice for those needing an overnight stay before or after a flight, or for individuals simply passing through the Atlanta metropolitan area. The immediate vicinity of the hotel, characteristic of an older commercial strip, includes various fast-food restaurants like McDonald's, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Subway, providing accessible dining options for guests. For those looking for more diverse dining or shopping, Southlake Mall is within a short driving distance. Local attractions in Jonesboro such as the Road To Tara Museum, which offers a glimpse into the region's history and its connection to "Gone with the Wind," are also relatively accessible. The overall environment is generally what one might expect from a budget hotel along a highway, with an emphasis on convenience and accessibility over picturesque surroundings. The property itself is typically a two-story structure with exterior corridors, a common design for this type of accommodation, indicating direct access to rooms from the parking lot.
The Rodeway Inn aims to provide essential services and features designed to offer a practical and comfortable stay. As part of the Choice Hotels family, Rodeway Inn properties often participate in the Choice Privileges rewards program, allowing frequent travelers to earn points towards future stays and other benefits. The hotel is also noted as being pet-friendly, accommodating pets for an additional charge, which is typically around $35 per pet, per night. Travelers can typically find various room types, including rooms with King Beds or Queen Beds, often marketed as an "affordable stay near Atlanta." The official Rodeway Inn website and Choice Hotels platforms are the primary sources for current rates, seasonal discounts, and any special packages, such as those for extended stays or loyalty program members. These promotions are designed to attract value-conscious travelers seeking a straightforward and economical lodging solution. It's common for budget hotels like Rodeway Inn to have varying rates based on demand, day of the week (with weekends sometimes being more expensive), and booking lead time.
However, an objective introduction necessitates a thorough examination of customer experiences, and the feedback for the Rodeway Inn in Jonesboro reveals a mixed, and at times, concerning picture. Numerous reviews highlight significant issues that potential guests should be aware of.
A predominant concern among guests is cleanliness. Multiple reviews describe bathrooms as "nasty" and rooms as "dirty." Specific complaints include uncleaned bathrooms, stained bedding, and a general lack of thoroughness in housekeeping, with one guest stating, "Nobody clean it," and another noting, "YES EVERYTHING NEEDS UPDATING AND CLEANING. There is nothing that I liked about the hotel. It needs to be cleaned. They need to remodel this hotel, and order new bedding like sheets and blankets because it looks like tractor trailers rolled over it. Yes! Not cleaned, bedding sheets and towels not cleaned." There are also mentions of dirty carpets and pest issues, including "roaches," which are serious cleanliness and hygiene concerns.
Another significant area of complaint revolves around customer service and billing practices. One particularly distressing account details a guest being charged a $50 deposit twice for no apparent reason, totaling $100 for a single night's stay, in addition to the room rate. This guest also reported a "very rude" and yelling individual on the phone when attempting to resolve the issue. This suggests potential problems with transparent billing and a lack of professional and courteous customer support.
Furthermore, several reviews indicate severe difficulties in contacting the hotel. Guests attempting to change booking dates or simply inquire about their reservations reported the phone number immediately hanging up. One frustrated traveler recounted trying multiple times and even calling a neighboring hotel to verify if Rodeway Inn was still in business, expressing significant stress and regret over pre-booking a non-contactable hotel and feeling helpless about recovering their "hard earned money" due to an unaccommodating "policy." This highlights a critical breakdown in communication channels, which can be highly problematic for guests needing assistance or modifications to their reservations.
Beyond these specific issues, some reviews broadly describe the property as needing updates and remodeling, aligning with the cleanliness concerns and suggesting that the overall condition of the hotel may be dated or poorly maintained. There are also isolated comments about the surrounding area, with some guests expressing discomfort or concerns about "suspected people around," which could pertain to the immediate neighborhood's perceived safety or atmosphere.
In conclusion, while the Rodeway Inn in Jonesboro, GA, positioned within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, offers an appealing price point and essential amenities such as free WiFi, complimentary parking, and a pet-friendly policy, a critical examination of customer reviews reveals significant and consistent challenges. These primarily concern cleanliness standards, issues with deposits and customer service, and severe communication difficulties. For travelers prioritizing economy and basic functionalities, the hotel may seem suitable. However, potential guests are strongly advised to consider the detailed and often negative feedback regarding hygiene, billing practices, and the hotel's accessibility for customer support. It is recommended to contact the hotel directly to clarify any specific concerns before making a reservation and to be aware of the potential for a less-than-ideal experience based on the experiences of past guests.

May 20, 2025 · Alberto MaffoniI booked this place and needed to change the dates because of my plans arrangements. My agency and myself tried multiple times contacting their phone number and hangs up immediately. I called the other hotel right across of them and they said they are still in business and can’t help me get their phone number that works. I’m stressed out knowing dat i paid this hotel and there’s nothing i can do about it to get something out of it. I should have done more research and give them a call just to be sure that if something comes up and someone accommodate my request. Again i regret booking this hotel and i’m sure they are happy taking my hard earned money according to their “policy”. Beware online bookers. This is the first experience that i encountered prebooking a hotel that can’t be contacted at all.
Mar 11, 2025 · Michael MangapitThis place is disgusting. After checking into my room, the first thing I notice was the bathroom being dirty. It looked like no one scrubbed nor cleaned the bathtub. After viewing that, I decided to look around the room to see what else not appropriate. The bed sheets had stains on them. I requested them to either give me a new room or have someone clean the room. I was told they would fix it. I left for almost an hour and realized they changed the sheets but they had stains on them too. The bed sheets wasn’t the only thing with stains on them. The towels have stains on them too. It’s like they are too cheap to buy new sheets and towels. To me it wasn’t worth it. The staff members are nice, but the service is poor.
Nov 13, 2024 · DalDO NOT GO HERE!! When you book a night here you have to basically clean everything yourself from the bathroom to the fridge and microwave. Gnats and roaches are very visible. I couldn’t even eat my food, they were that bad. The man at the front desk “BRAD” or something similar has a very nasty attitude. Libby and the other man with a mustache we’re very nice and was trying to help with my complaints to the best of there ability. I still wouldn’t recommend staying here.
Jun 17, 2024 · Macy BabyThe lady is very respectable and cordial. The rooms are under renovation and I could small cigarettes smoke but the good part is they are available to work with you.
