The rooms were affordable; staff was decent and outside was well-kept. That's where our good experience ended. The room was dated and dirty. There were stains on every wall, surface, furniture and bedding. The walls were sticky and the building/room had an odor of sweat and body odor. The refrigerator had mold growing inside it. We didn't feel comfortable sitting on any surface. Since we would only be sleeping in the room, we were going to stick it out, even though we were grossed out... until I went to take a shower that evening. There was hair all over the shower and when I turned the water on, the water was dark brown and had an awful smell. We booked the room for 2 nights, and if it wasn't 9PM at night after traveling a few hours with young kids, we would have left right then. Unfortunately, we didn't have a choice but to stick it out for the night. I immediately booked another hotel for the next night. We packed up first thing in the morning. While I didn't specifically ask for a refund, I did share that our experience was less than acceptable and that we were choosing not to stay a second night, it was as if the front desk did not care. They asked no further questions or offered any kind apology or refund. I'm disappointed. I'm not one to write bad reviews or make a fuss, but I felt that these issues should be communicated and hopefully addressed for future guests. I do understand the benefits of offering affordable accommodations, but this was not worth it in our opinion. I would have gladly paid double (and did) to feel clean.

Roosevelt Inn & Suites Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Ballston Spa, New York area, the Roosevelt Inn & Suites at 2961 US-9, Ballston Spa, NY 12020, USA, often appears as an option, particularly for travelers seeking more affordable accommodation. The hotel can be reached via phone at (518) 584-0980 or mobile at +1 518-584-0980. This establishment presents a mixed picture based on recent guest experiences, offering certain amenities and a convenient location but also facing noted challenges regarding its upkeep and dated appearance.

The general environment of the Roosevelt Inn & Suites is described as having a certain charm reminiscent of an "old movie," indicating a more traditional or classic aesthetic. The grounds are generally reported as well-kept, which contributes positively to the initial impression. The hotel is situated on 16 acres of land, featuring unique sculptures and inviting outdoor areas like a pool sundeck and a courtyard gazebo. This emphasis on well-maintained outdoor spaces can be a pleasant aspect for guests. However, within the building itself, particularly in guest rooms, the environment can be inconsistent, with some areas showing signs of age and requiring renovation.

In terms of services, the Roosevelt Inn & Suites offers several conveniences that can enhance a stay. A complimentary continental breakfast is served in the hotel lobby, providing a basic but valued start to the day. The staff generally receives positive remarks for being friendly, decent, kind, and accommodating, which is a crucial aspect of guest satisfaction. The front desk is typically staffed 24/7. While some guests have had positive interactions, others have reported a lack of responsiveness or care when issues arose, particularly concerning room conditions. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and free self-parking, which are standard but appreciated amenities.

The features of the Roosevelt Inn & Suites aim to provide a range of recreational and practical options. The property boasts both an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, offering swimming opportunities regardless of the weather. There are also two championship tennis courts for guests who enjoy the sport. A significant feature is the on-site Val-Kill Health & Spa, which offers various services including massages, facials, and body treatments, along with a hot tub and sauna. This spa facility adds a layer of luxury and relaxation that might not be found in similarly priced accommodations. The hotel also includes a fitness center for those wishing to maintain their exercise routine. For business needs, there is a business center and a 650-square-foot meeting room.

However, an objective introduction must also address significant concerns raised by past guests. While some reviews mention "clean rooms" and "comfortable beds," a notable number of recent reviews highlight severe issues with cleanliness and the dated condition of the rooms. Guests have reported stains on walls, surfaces, furniture, and bedding, along with odors of sweat and body odor. Instances of mold in refrigerators, hair in showers, and brown, foul-smelling water have also been documented. These issues, if encountered, severely detract from the guest experience, leading to early departures and a strong sentiment of dissatisfaction, particularly concerning value for money despite affordable pricing. The mention of "sticky walls" and non-functional amenities like jacuzzi tubs or patio door locks in some rooms suggests a need for extensive maintenance and updates.

Promotional information, based on general hotel practices and information found online, would likely emphasize the hotel's affordability, its array of resort-style amenities including the indoor/outdoor pools, tennis courts, and the on-site spa. Its location near Saratoga Springs, a popular tourist destination known for its mineral springs, horse racing, performing arts center (Saratoga Performing Arts Center), and Saratoga Spa State Park, would also be highlighted as a key selling point. The hotel is approximately a 5-minute drive from Saratoga Casino and Raceway and a 7-minute drive from Saratoga Race Course and Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Its proximity to these attractions makes it a convenient base for visitors to the area, especially those looking to enjoy the local culture and entertainment without paying premium Saratoga Springs prices.

Crucially, it is noted that the hotel is reportedly "reminiscent from an old movie" and will be "renovating soon." Some rooms, particularly "Lawn View Rooms," are stated to be "newly renovated" on the hotel's official website, and some suites also describe recent renovations. This indicates an awareness by the management of the need for updates and an ongoing effort to improve the property. This potential for transformation could significantly alter the guest experience for the better. Future guests should inquire about the status of renovations and specifically request a renovated room if possible, as the quality of stay appears to vary considerably based on whether a room has been updated or not. The contrast between positive remarks on staff and certain amenities versus strong complaints about room condition suggests a dichotomy that renovations aim to resolve.

In conclusion, for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Ballston Spa/Saratoga Springs area, the Roosevelt Inn & Suites offers an affordable price point and a range of attractive amenities like pools, tennis courts, and a spa. Its well-kept grounds and friendly staff are often praised. However, potential guests should be aware of past issues concerning the cleanliness and dated condition of some rooms. The ongoing or planned renovations are a critical factor, and inquiring about these updates, particularly seeking a newly renovated room, would be advisable to ensure a more satisfactory stay. The hotel's strategic location near major attractions in the Saratoga Springs area remains a consistent draw.

Picked this place last min and was pleasantly surprised. Retro vibes and a moderately cozy room. The walls are kind of thin so, don't be obnoxious if there are other people staying next door. The room we got was clean and pretty well stocked with basics. But we only stayed one night, not sure what their long term service is like.

I had to ask for coffee and something to eat for breakfast. Owner told me there are starving people in the world, and he doesn't want to waste food. Excuse me, but I'm a paying customer. There are no cups in the room for the coffee maker. Had to ask for toilet tissue. The toilet tissue holder was falling off the wall. He told me I had to be out of my room at 8 am. because he was having the parking lot paved. He could have given me a better notice than 8pm the night before. They advertised a romantic getaway with a message included. Isn't so. I paid for a one hour message for my spouse. I couldn't believe this man has been in business for 10 years. He needs to brush up on his people skills. He is a real loser. The restaurant on the property ( 13 North) is excellent. Good food and nice service people.

overall a 1.5 gym was rusted and unsafe, the staff was unpleasant and odd, rooms smelled like must it’s very outdated our cabinet with the garbage in it wouldn’t open and the front desk/maintenance man couldn’t get it open there were holes in all the towels i recommend you bring your own if you stay and plan to go in the pool because there isn’t any in the facility. They also charged us 25 for an extra child fee though the hot tub was out of service. the luggage carts were a very hard metal which was really hard on your hands they were also really hard to push as well. there’s also dying plants everywhere. If you get a room with a balcony DO NOT go on it there very shaky and feel like your gonna fall through them. they reuse the keycards not the most sanitary but reasonable. to add on there rusty water and lots of air in the pipes so when you go to brush your teeth in the morning you’ll also be able to wash your face hands free. there was only 1 remote( we had two tvs) when you walked in to the building we stayed in it smells of pinesol but yet the room still smells of cigarettes? pool was freezing to make matters worse there was no service and very unsure wifi when you sat at the pool chairs dusk came off. but yea wouldn’t recommend
