Having grown up in the area, i never had to stay overnight, however, since we no longer live around here, we decided that we'd stay right on the hill. It was a blast. Super cool to walk outside in the morning and pop on the skis and come in and out whenever... I have to say, the dcor is a time warp. Needs an serious update. everything is really worn out and it does feel like a cheap hotel, although you're paying premium. I'm pretty sure Vail could invest in bringing this place to snuff. It would be worth it. Seven springs has mazing skiing.
For individuals and families searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the premier destination of Champion, Pennsylvania, the Slopeside Hotel by Seven Springs Resort stands as the quintessential choice for direct access to mountain activities. Located at 777 Water Wheel Dr, Champion, PA 15622, USA, this resort hotel offers unparalleled convenience for ski enthusiasts and those looking to immerse themselves in the full Seven Springs experience. As the primary lodging option directly on the slopes, it provides an all-encompassing environment for a mountain getaway.
The Slopeside Hotel is the flagship accommodation at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, which was acquired by Vail Resorts in 2021. This acquisition positioned Seven Springs as a key destination within Vail's extensive network, attracting guests from Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Cleveland, among other major metropolitan areas. The hotel is designed to be a hub of activity, offering a wide array of services and amenities that extend far beyond a typical hotel stay, catering to both leisure travelers and conference attendees.
The environment of the Slopeside Hotel is defined by its prime "slopeside" location, directly adjacent to the ski trails and main lodge facilities of Seven Springs Mountain Resort. This strategic positioning allows guests the ultimate convenience of "walking outside in the morning and pop on the skis and come in and out whenever." During the winter months, the hotel is buzzing with energy, with guests enjoying direct access to the slopes and lifts. The "slopeside views from windows" mentioned in a customer review confirm that many rooms offer picturesque vistas of the ski trails and surrounding mountains, enhancing the resort experience.
In warmer seasons, the environment transforms into a vibrant summer mountain escape, with access to golf, mountain biking, hiking, and other outdoor pursuits. The hotel is integrated into the larger Seven Springs resort complex, meaning guests have immediate access to various dining outlets, retail shops, and recreational facilities without needing to drive. This creates a self-contained vacation environment where everything is within easy reach. The overall ambiance is lively and active, reflecting the diverse range of activities available year-round.
The Slopeside Hotel is a substantial property, featuring 414 rooms, including suites, king, two queen, and executive rooms. It offers a comprehensive range of services and features designed for a full-service resort experience, as highlighted by a customer review and general resort information:
However, customer reviews also highlight some areas for improvement regarding the accommodations themselves. One reviewer noted that "the decor is a time warp. Needs a serious update. everything is really worn out and it does feel like a cheap hotel, although you're paying premium." Another mentioned issues with a suite, stating the "kitchenette had no items to wash dishes or dishwasher. Also lacked serving dishes. Did have microwave and coffee maker. No blankets in room but sheets and pillows on sofa bed and Murphy bed. Also no duvet on master bed. No maid service at all for our 2-day stay and at $1200 per day that's just not ok. Service in resort and resort amenities good though. Enjoyed our stay but they need to up their sleeping room game." This feedback suggests that while the overall resort amenities and location are excellent, the individual room furnishings and certain in-room services (like housekeeping for shorter stays in suites) may not fully meet premium expectations or require more consistent quality.
It's important to note that Seven Springs has seen significant investment and renovations over the years, including a full renovation of hotel rooms in 2007 (new bedding, carpets, curtains, doors, tables, desks, chairs, and LCD TVs). However, the recent customer reviews indicate that some areas may now be due for further updates, particularly after the acquisition by Vail Resorts in 2021, which often brings renewed capital investments. Vail Resorts typically invests in its properties to enhance the guest experience.
Direct, time-limited promotional offers for the Slopeside Hotel are typically found on the official Seven Springs Mountain Resort website (7springs.com) or through major booking platforms. However, the core promotional message of the Slopeside Hotel is its unparalleled convenience and comprehensive resort experience.
While the customer reviews highlight areas for improvement, they also provide strong endorsements for the overall experience and the resort's amenities. The shout-out to "Wilis ski shop" for going "above and beyond servicing our race equipment" indicates a commitment to specialized service that enhances the guest experience. The contact numbers, (866) 437-1300 and +1 866-437-1300, are toll-free numbers for Seven Springs Resort, which guests can use for reservations or inquiries.

Mar 30, 2025 · v hWe rented a suite for two days. Great space and quite comfortable for a ski resort. Slopeside views from windows. Lovely. Oddly kitchenette had no items to wash dishes or dishwasher. Also lacked serving dishes. Did have microwave and coffee maker. No blankets in room but sheets and pillows on sofa bed and Murphy bed. Also no duvet on master bed. No maid service at all forvour 2 day stay and at $1200 per day that's just not ok. Service in resort and resort amenities good though. Enjoyed our stay but they need to up their sleeping room game. Shout out to Slopeside breakfast...excellent and efficient. And Wilis ski shop went above and beyond servicing our race equipment.
Jan 29, 2025 · StaciAvoid. Older hotel, VERY limited food options. Layout is confusing with bad signage and directions that help you get lost quickly. You’ll follow a sign for a store/bar/venue which will get you 80% of way there… then nothing. Need to ask people for directions. Shower in bathroom is short so if you’re over 5’5” you’ll need to duck down. Also don’t expect to eat easily. Understaffed restaurants meant either no tables or 1-2h wait on a wknd for most places. Only thing available was to go pizzas or foggy goggle.
Jan 04, 2025 · Modern Life PittsburghWe stayed in the lodge next to the hotel. The main room was nice, very rustic. The furniture was old and worn. The bedrooms were clean and plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 small kids. The bathrooms were very old with rust on the sink and toilet. The wooden shelf above the sink was painted years ago. But why would an upper scale hotel have a painted wooden shelf? The shower was gross. For $600 per night i would expect a higher quality room. Motel 6 would have been better. We were very disappointed.
Oct 28, 2024 · Todd LevensonOnly stayed for one night on a trip over Thanksgiving weekend. Bathroom had hair and other matter from previous guests and resort is huge, took a while to navigate hallways. Restaurant was disappointing but Helen's was awesome!
