Great location for hiking around the park. They have a nice option to pre-order firewood and that was outside when we arrived. Communication was not very good and we did not receive the code needed to get into the room by check in. It was difficult to get in touch with them to get the code and we called and texted several times before getting a response. There was food in the refrigerator when we checked in that was removed while we were out to dinner which was weird. The floor of the room was very dirty but the rest of the room was clean. The Jacuzzi tub kicked out black stuff into the water and the surrounding tile work was in disrepair. It was also very cold in the room and the space heater provided did not heat the room up at all.
For travelers seeking a distinctive and immersive experience in the heart of Pennsylvania's natural beauty, Stay In Ohiopyle offers a compelling alternative to traditional hotels. Located at 138 Grant St, Ohiopyle, PA 15470, USA, this establishment operates as a collection of individually owned villas and cabins, providing a more private and home-like atmosphere, making it a standout option when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Ohiopyle area. You can reach them at (724) 466-4613 or +1 724-466-4613.
Stay In Ohiopyle boasts an exceptional location that is undoubtedly one of its strongest selling points. Situated directly within or very close to Ohiopyle State Park, it serves as the "perfect place to stay if you are visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright site!" Specifically, it is an ideal base for touring Fallingwater, one of Wright's most iconic architectural masterpieces, which is just a short drive away. The surrounding area is described by guests as "natural and beautiful," offering immediate access to a plethora of outdoor activities.
Ohiopyle State Park itself is a hub for adventure, renowned for its whitewater rafting on the Youghiogheny River, miles of hiking and biking trails (including the Great Allegheny Passage), natural waterslides, and scenic waterfalls. This makes Stay In Ohiopyle an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, cyclists, and families looking to explore the natural wonders of Fayette County. The town of Ohiopyle, though small, is charming and quaint, with "cute, quaint coffee shops and cafés nearby," contributing to a pleasant local experience. Guests can enjoy the tranquility of a small town while having easy access to outdoor recreation and cultural landmarks. The properties themselves are likely nestled within the natural landscape, offering a sense of seclusion and a connection to the environment.
As a collection of villas and cabins, Stay In Ohiopyle offers a different service model than a standard hotel. Instead of a bustling lobby, guests experience a more independent and private stay, often with self-check-in procedures. While this might mean less direct, constant interaction with staff, the quality of interaction, when it occurs, appears to be a significant strength. One guest raved, "Every interaction I had with the owner, Andrea, was pleasant, professional and courteous." This highlights a personalized approach to guest relations, characteristic of independently managed properties.
Specific amenities often include full kitchens or kitchenettes equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and possibly other cooking facilities, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. This is a considerable advantage for longer stays or for those with dietary preferences. The properties likely offer complimentary Wi-Fi, which is crucial for staying connected. Unique to these types of rentals are personalized touches like the option to "pre-order firewood," which was ready and waiting upon arrival for one guest, enhancing the "cozy cabin" feel. While a standard "hotel breakfast" is not typically offered, the presence of a kitchen allows for self-catering, and the nearby cafes provide alternatives. Given the outdoor focus of the area, many properties like these also offer ample parking and possibly outdoor seating areas or fire pits.
The core features of Stay In Ohiopyle are its distinct, individually owned villas and cabins, each with its own character and charm. For instance, "The Joseph" villa is described as feeling "like a cozy cabin with a fishing/camping theme." This suggests that guests can expect unique decor and a sense of individuality in their accommodations, a stark contrast to the uniformity of hotel rooms.
Guest rooms (or rather, the villas/cabins themselves) are typically furnished to provide comfort and a homey atmosphere. Reviewers consistently praise the cleanliness, describing properties as "spotless, homey, clean and comfortable." High-quality linens, such as "crisp and clean" sheets, contribute to a good night's sleep. While specific room features will vary by unit, they generally include private bathrooms, living areas, and separate sleeping spaces, offering more room and privacy than a typical hotel room. Features like a jacuzzi tub might be present in some units, though one review noted issues with it kicking out "black stuff" and surrounding tile disrepair, indicating that maintenance standards can vary between individual units. Similarly, heating might rely on space heaters, which some guests found insufficient. However, the overarching theme is a comfortable, private living space designed for relaxation after a day of outdoor activities. The absence of carpet and a focus on easy-to-clean flooring (though one guest noted a "very dirty" floor upon check-in, while the "rest of the room was clean") are practical considerations for properties catering to outdoor enthusiasts.
Stay In Ohiopyle primarily "promotes" itself through the unique experience it offers – the chance to stay in a private villa or cabin amidst stunning natural surroundings, with direct access to Ohiopyle State Park and its attractions. For travelers utilizing "Hotels Near Of Me" and seeking more than just a room, this focus on a "cozy cabin" or "villa" experience is a significant draw. The strong personal recommendation from satisfied guests, like the one who "absolutely recommend this place" and is "looking for reasons to come back," serves as powerful testimonial. The assurance that "any of the villas owned by Andrea and 'Stay in Ohiopyle' will be wonderful!" speaks to a consistent quality of management, despite individual unit variations.
Guest experiences are largely positive, highlighting the wonderful stay, friendly and professional interactions with the owner, and the comfort and cleanliness of the accommodations. The perfect location for visiting Fallingwater is a recurring theme. However, some guests have noted challenges, particularly regarding communication for check-in codes, which can be frustrating upon arrival. Issues with specific amenities like the jacuzzi tub or heating in some units also suggest that potential guests should inquire about the specific features and recent maintenance of the unit they are booking. The unusual occurrence of food being removed from the refrigerator during a guest's stay also points to potential communication gaps or operational quirks unique to private rentals.
Overall, Stay In Ohiopyle caters to a specific niche: those who desire a private, self-catering, and character-filled lodging experience in a prime natural and cultural setting. It offers a memorable alternative to a conventional hotel, emphasizing comfort, convenience, and direct access to the beauty of Ohiopyle. While guests should be prepared for a more independent experience and potentially varied maintenance standards between units, the highly praised personal touches and exceptional location often make it a truly wonderful and highly recommended choice.

May 04, 2025 · Leslie LissonWe are from about six hours out of town, so had no idea what to expect in this little town of Ohiopyle. We visited the area to tour in Fallingwater. (sidenote, this is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting the Frank Loyd Wright site!) We weren’t sure what to expect when booking this villa, because we are used to big hotels with hundreds of people and lots of infrastructure. However, we had such a wonderful stay that we are now looking for reasons to come back. Every interaction I had with the owner, Andrea, was pleasant, professional and courteous. “The Joseph” villa feels like a cozy cabin with a fishing/camping theme. It was spotless, homey, clean and comfortable. All the linens were crisp and clean and we slept wonderfully. The surrounding area is natural and beautiful, and we were shocked at the number of cute, quaint coffee shops and cafés nearby. I absolutely recommend this place, and I am certain that any of the villas owned by Andrea and “Stay in Ohiopyle” will be wonderful!
Aug 29, 2023 · Courtney LudovicoMy husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway with our newborn. We usually stay at the camp grounds in Ohiopyle so we didn't know what lodging in town was like. We were thrilled to walk in cabin 4! There wasn't a thing out of place. Smelled really good. So clean and adorably decorated. Every basic accommodation in the kitchen. Way two big for the 3 of us! We'll be bringing the whole family next time. Thanks for the amazing memory! Definitely 5 stars
Jul 24, 2019 · Kathryn KlosThe Belle has an awkward layout, sinks are in the bedrooms, no real kitchen, the wifi is weak and inconsistent, the fire alarm goes off if you use the toaster, the outlets are weird. But it was clean and the last place available in Ohiopyle. And they had a hair dryer!
Sep 17, 2023 · Andrea GallagherThis place was great!! Close to walking distance to everything you need. Trails right across the street. I stayed in cabin 4 with three friends and there was plenty of room. Cabin was very clean and very nice. I will certainly stay here again and would recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing nice place to stay in Ohiopyle.
