The Hygge House was a nice little rental house, but I'm not sure if it's quite worth the nightly cost. The location was quite nice. A little bit of street noise at times, but definitely not bad. There is a house that people live in right next to it, but there are fences to keep it pretty private. They also have dogs. Thankfully we only heard the dogs once in a while and not at weird times. It's located about 13 minutes from Ohiopyle, which is where some good hiking trails are and the white water rafting. Ohiopyle also has some nice little food places and gift shops. It's a nice place to just walk around and enjoy some peaceful scenery and the sounds of the river. The Hygge House is also around 5 minutes to Laurel Caverns. We didn't get to check those out, but they looked cool. The communication was decent between myself and the rental people, even though I did receive an email that didn't seem too friendly and seemed like they had an attitude about me asking a question that supposedly had the information in the rental agreement. After I received the email response about my question about amenities, I checked the rental agreement and it stated nothing about provided shampoo or soap or coffee. Either way, the email response said there was no provided shampoo or soap, but when we got there, there was shampoo, soap and lotion in the bathroom mirror. The hot tub was pretty good. It was missing one of the headrest pillows so that kind of stunk. It also smelled very strong of chemicals, which I guess is better than no chemicals. It is in a decently private location. Definitely more private than the other two rental houses that are very close to this one. The size of the hot tub is pretty good. Easily fits two adults just about laying all the way down. The Tiny Casita rental is attached to the Hygge House. It didn't seem like anyone was renting either of the other two rentals when we were there. One couple did show up Thursday evening to the Tiny Casita and we didn't even really notice them. We saw their car in the parking space by the road but never heard them when we were in the house. Inside the Hygge House was cozy. Just enough room for two people really. The shower door is tiny, but the shower area itself is okay. The water got really hot, which was nice. The toilet was also small. Not sure why the toilet would be that small when this rental seems to be focused on adults only. The dishwasher had all the button markings rubbed off, so it was pretty difficult to figure out which ones did what. The WiFi seemed to work well. We just used it once in a while to browse what was around. The bed was a queen size I believe. Unfortunately the sheet was too small and would pop off a lot, which was frustrating. The bed was also very soft. I didn't mind, but if you like a firm mattress, this will not be what you're looking for. Again, there are three total rental houses in this one area. They all share a pretty tight driveway. Thankfully no one else was really around when we were there, until our last night. We stayed Wednesday through Friday. Overall, it was a good place to stay. It lacks amenities, but it does have more of a homey feel than a hotel. It is also decently private, but we also stayed when others weren't in the other rentals. It is also a pretty convenient location for what we were looking to get to. If we were to visit Ohiopyle again, which I believe we will we will probably end up staying somewhere else due to the fact that this place would be just a bit too small if we were to bring the kid this time. If it were just the wife and I again, I would probably stay here again as long as we did it during the week when hopefully no one else was at the other rentals. This rental could be a 5 star if they'd just fix it up a bit and have the right stuff available. Some house instructions printed and placed in the house would've been nice too. Oh, and I tried using the Happy Stays app to check in, and it didn't work. The app was nice to be able to see the house information though.
For those seeking a tranquil and intimate retreat in the picturesque Laurel Highlands, Hygge House in Hopwood, PA, offers a compelling option under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. This charming single-bedroom, single-bathroom rental is designed to provide a cozy and comfortable experience, making it an ideal choice for couples or solo adventurers looking for a peaceful getaway with convenient access to a wealth of outdoor activities and local attractions.
Hygge House is situated at 422 Jumonville Rd, Hopwood, PA 15445, USA, offering a location that strikes a balance between accessibility and a sense of seclusion. While it is located near a residential property with neighbors who have dogs, the presence of fences helps maintain a good level of privacy for guests. Street noise is generally minimal, ensuring a quiet atmosphere for relaxation. The property is one of three rental houses in the immediate vicinity, and while they share a somewhat tight driveway, guests have often reported a sense of privacy, particularly during off-peak times when other rentals might be unoccupied. The general area is known for its natural beauty, with mountain views available from some properties in the region, and it's surrounded by the serene landscapes of the Laurel Highlands, offering a peaceful backdrop for your stay.
Hygge House aims to provide a more homey feel than a traditional hotel, and it comes equipped with a range of amenities to enhance your stay. The rental boasts a full kitchen, which is a significant advantage for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. This includes a dishwasher, though some guests have noted the button markings might be worn. While initial information might suggest a lack of certain provisions, guests have found shampoo, soap, and lotion available in the bathroom. The kitchen also includes a coffee maker. A major highlight of Hygge House is the hot tub, a feature highly praised by guests for its size and privacy, comfortably fitting two adults. While there might be a missing headrest pillow and a strong chemical scent, these are often minor inconveniences compared to the overall enjoyment of the hot tub. Other conveniences include a private outdoor sitting area, an outdoor grill, and laundry facilities. The property also offers Wi-Fi, which generally works well for Browse. For entertainment, there are big screen TVs, and the water in the shower gets reliably hot, a welcome comfort. The unit shares space with another rental (Tiny Casita) but has its own separate entrance. It's important to note that while the rental is focused on adults, some guests have commented on the small size of the shower door and toilet. The bed is a queen size, though some feedback indicates the sheet might be too small and prone to coming off. The mattress is also described as very soft, which might not suit those who prefer a firmer bed. Despite some minor quirks, the overall consensus is that Hygge House is well-equipped for a comfortable experience, especially for a couple.
One of Hygge House's most significant features is its strategic location, offering excellent access to a variety of popular attractions in the Laurel Highlands. It’s approximately 13 minutes from Ohiopyle State Park, a hub for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and white water rafting on the Youghiogheny River. Ohiopyle also features charming food places and gift shops, perfect for a leisurely stroll. For those interested in geological wonders, Laurel Caverns is just about 5 minutes away, providing an intriguing exploration opportunity. The location is also convenient for reaching downtown Uniontown in about 10 minutes. This makes Hygge House a fantastic base for those looking to explore the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the region. The property is also pet-friendly, allowing guests to bring their furry companions along for the adventure, though specific pet policies (fees, weight limits) should be confirmed directly with the owner or management. The property is managed professionally, ensuring 24/7 support for guests.
Hygge House positions itself as a serene and inviting cottage, ideal for couples seeking a romantic getaway or individuals looking for a peaceful escape. The focus is on providing a cozy retreat where guests can unwind after a day of exploring. While not explicitly stated, the "Hygge" in the name itself suggests a Danish concept of coziness, comfort, and well-being, which aligns with the overall atmosphere the rental aims to provide. The availability of a hot tub, full kitchen, and a private setting are key selling points for those desiring a more independent and relaxed vacation experience compared to a traditional hotel. Potential guests are encouraged to consider a stay during the week for potentially more privacy, as the other rentals on the property might be less occupied. While it offers a homey feel, it's worth noting that some guests have expressed a desire for more comprehensive house instructions to be printed and readily available within the rental. For those planning to revisit the Ohiopyle area, Hygge House is often considered a strong option, particularly for couples, given its convenient location and amenities that cater to a comfortable, self-sufficient stay.

Jun 23, 2023 · Jason TiptonEverything you need; full kitchen, dishwasher, outdoor grill, laundry, hot tub, big screen tvs. Perfect for two. My only complaint is that directions for the above would be useful.
