This is not a fairy tale review if this is what your looking for. This is the hard truth and hopefully this review can better this place if not rethink people from going and wasting their money. This is the H20 water park at splitrock resort. Well first let me just say I got promised a better deal via phone vs online booking. So with the via phone it was 2queen size beds 2day stay and passes included and 15% off all my meals while there for 330 sweet deal right!? This was a birthday present for my daughter she didn't want presents wanted to stay at a water park so we did thought all be great..... nope not today! So got there found out need 100$ hold didn't tell us when we asked if there was any extra fees . So she really looked forward towards the kids splash area with the huge bucket and all that jazz found out it's closed and under constuction . keep in mind we booked our stay on Monday and made sure all was working properly and they said yes all working all good and made sure day before . so that was a big disappointment for her birthday then we went in the pool it was like we were polar bears, and not only that the kids pool was ice cold . now wait there's more, so they have a movie theater and we were going to watch nightmare before Christmas like stated on their website and another kid movie tomorrow nope! They changed it to bad moms instead and next night was Deadpool hmm hello this is a kids resort is it not!? So okay broke her heart again, went into the hot tub key word is hot nope not there cold again, so we were getting frustrated and went to the staff and they weren't much help ethier always like talking to a wall and always had to deal with someone else so most of our stay was on the phone or front desk wanting to leave but can't break our kids heart. So here is some upside to this place their was a wonderful girl who worked in the games who runs a daycare there did crafts with the kids was super nice to my daughter and other kids, and they have a bowling alley there but if there is a big group event good luck getting in, the food was over priced and not good but their breakfast was decent. Would we ever go back that is a fat no! So what did this place do to help our stay took 50$ off and gave me 20$ arcade card which was pulling teeth and playing phone tag my whole trip Now with besides my experience we have talked to other guest while there and they had bad experience to like brown water in shower, no heat in rooms cold water in pools and the staff unfriendly and unhelpful so my rating for this place is 1 star because of the positives I listed hope this review helps better this place .

Split Rock Resort Introduce

Split Rock Resort, nestled in the scenic Pocono Mountains at 428 Moseywood Rd, Lake Harmony, PA 18624, USA, is a prominent option for local users seeking a resort experience within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category. This resort aims to provide a comprehensive getaway with a variety of amenities and activities, making it a potential destination for families, couples, and groups looking for a break from routine. For direct inquiries, the resort can be reached at (570) 866-3331 or via mobile at +1 570-866-3331.

The environment of Split Rock Resort is a significant draw, as it is situated in the picturesque Pocono Mountains. This natural setting implies a tranquil and refreshing atmosphere, allowing guests to feel a sense of escape from urban hustle and bustle. The resort's location in Lake Harmony suggests proximity to natural attractions like the lake itself, potentially offering opportunities for outdoor activities depending on the season. The overall aesthetic of the resort, being a resort hotel, typically involves expansive grounds, multiple buildings for accommodation and activities, and a design that blends with its natural surroundings. One guest specifically highlighted the "beautiful natural setting," emphasizing the appeal of its location for a true escape.

In terms of services, Split Rock Resort offers a broad spectrum designed to cater to diverse guest needs. A key service is its accommodation, with rooms that have been described by one satisfied guest as "clean, spacious, and comfortable—perfect for relaxing." The resort provides a variety of room types, such as those with two queen-size beds, to accommodate different group sizes. Front desk services are, of course, available for check-in, check-out, and general inquiries. However, customer experiences regarding staff helpfulness vary. One guest noted that staff at the front desk and regarding issues were "not much help" and felt like "talking to a wall," often requiring dealing with "someone else." Conversely, another guest had "wonderful experiences from the staff being friendly, welcoming, and eager to make our stay enjoyable." This indicates a potential inconsistency in service delivery that prospective guests should be aware of. The resort also offers dining options; while one review stated food was "over priced and not good," their breakfast was described as "decent." This suggests that while main meals might not be a highlight, the breakfast service is generally acceptable. Another notable service mentioned is a daycare provided by a "wonderful girl who worked in the games," who also did crafts with kids, highlighting a positive aspect of their family-oriented services.

The features of Split Rock Resort are extensive and are a major part of its appeal as a resort hotel. A standout feature is the H2O Water Park, which is a significant draw, especially for families. However, it's crucial to note that one guest experienced a major disappointment when the "kids splash area with the huge bucket" was "closed and under construction," despite being assured otherwise when booking and confirming. This highlights the importance of verifying the operational status of key attractions directly with the resort before arrival, especially if booking for a specific feature. Furthermore, the water temperature in the pools, including the kids' pool and hot tub, was a point of concern for one guest, describing them as "ice cold" or "cold again." This contrasts sharply with the expectation of a warm indoor water park experience. Beyond the water park, the resort boasts a bowling alley, which was a "big hit with the whole family" for one guest, though another noted that it can be difficult to access if there's a "big group event." A movie theater is another feature, but one guest was severely disappointed when the advertised family-friendly movies were changed to adult-oriented ones like "Bad Moms" and "Deadpool," which "broke her heart again" as a kid's resort. These discrepancies between advertised features and actual availability or content are significant points for consideration for potential guests. Other potential facilities, common in resorts of this nature, might include arcades (an arcade card was offered as compensation to one guest), various activity rooms, and potentially outdoor recreational areas depending on the season and specific section of the resort.

Promotional information for Split Rock Resort would naturally emphasize its comprehensive offerings as a family-friendly destination in the Pocono Mountains. Highlighting the presence of an indoor water park (H2O), bowling alley, and movie theater would be central to attracting families. The resort might promote special packages that include accommodation and activity passes, as one guest was promised a "sweet deal" via phone booking that included passes and a discount on meals. The natural beauty of the Pocono Mountains setting would also be a key promotional aspect, appealing to those seeking a scenic retreat. However, it is imperative for the resort to ensure that promotional promises align with the actual guest experience. The feedback from guests about closed attractions, cold water in pools, and inappropriate movie selections directly contradicts the expectations set by a resort advertising itself as a family destination. Additionally, the issue of an unexpected $100 hold upon arrival, which was not disclosed during booking, is a crucial piece of information that should be part of transparent promotional material or pre-arrival communication. While one guest had an "absolutely wonderful experience" and praised the friendly staff and clean accommodations, the detailed negative feedback from another guest, which also included reports from other guests about "brown water in shower, no heat in rooms," and "unfriendly and unhelpful staff," suggests that the resort's promotional efforts should be backed by consistent service delivery. For local users Browse "Hotels Near Of Me," it would be beneficial to contact the resort directly to confirm the operational status of all desired amenities and any hidden fees to avoid disappointment, as guest experiences can vary significantly.

I recently stayed at Split Rock Resort and had an absolutely wonderful experience! When we arrived we had wonderful experiences from the staff being friendly, welcoming, and eager to make our stay enjoyable. The resort itself is nestled in a beautiful natural setting, which made it feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle. The accommodations were clean, spacious, and comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We loved all the activities offered, especially the indoor water park and bowling alley, which were big hits with the whole family.

The beds were broken and as soon as you sat on them you sunk in. The ac unit didn’t work properly, the carpets were really dirty. The rooms were huge, the customer service was outstanding. The free breakfast was not as good however, boiled sausage and rubbery bacon was not good. Also why was the apple juice water and bitter? The amenities was good. The price was great but just wish the beds weren’t broken, rugs were clean and good actually tasted decent.

The bar tender was great, the staff is friendly and helpful. But that is the only thing they have going for them. We stayed in a junior sweet on the 5th floor. The bathroom door isn't squared so the bottom of the door drug the carpet and made it difficult to close, the inside bathroom door was missing the strike plate so it didn't stay closed. Anything that has a door in the room drug the floor, you have to lift the refrigerator up off the ground to get it to close because again, it drug the ground. The water in the water park was cold and there's no where to get towels if you didn't bring your own. Only one slide was working. And for the buffet, I'm not quite sure that it qualifies as a buffet. I went both mornings and had to wait for the food to be restocked for everything that I wanted to get and most of the time it was cold. Tbh the only good thing there was the bacon. I had high hopes when I walked in and saw the bar and everything in the lobby. Not what I thought I was going to get for the money spent.

A bit secluded, a little dated but not too bad. There's a good amount of activities there to keep you busy. Dining gets BUSY on the weekends. Drinks aren't crazy highly priced. Wasn't the cleanest hotel ever but it was about satisfactory overall. Staff was friendly enough. Also, there is no casino not sure why I thought there was 😂
