We had to check in last min and they charged us over $100 for one night. We were willing to pay a bit for the breakfast that was to be included, but after paying we were informed that their kitchen was under renovation and there was no breakfast other than the two packaged honey buns they gave us and the coffee we could make in our room. Other than the towels having brown stains on them, it was a very comfortable room.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Stony Brook State Park is roughly half an hour northwest, and other state forests like Urbana and Moss Hill are a short drive away, offering opportunities for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. The services and features at Super 8 by Wyndham Bath Hammondsport Area are designed to offer essential comforts and value to guests. A primary amenity is the complimentary breakfast. While one recent reviewer mentioned that "their kitchen was under renovation and there was no breakfast other than the two packaged honey buns they gave us and the coffee we could make in our room," the hotel generally advertises a "free light breakfast item together with your choice of coffee, tea, and juice," often referred to as an "on-the-go breakfast." This suggests that a full hot breakfast may not always be available, and guests should verify current offerings.
Each guest room typically includes dependable amenities such as a microwave, mini-refrigerator, and coffee/tea maker, providing convenience for snacks and beverages. All rooms offer free high-speed Wi-Fi access, which is a crucial amenity for both leisure and business travelers. Rooms also feature flat-screen TVs with digital or cable channels, and practical items like hair dryers. An iron and ironing board are often available on request. Guests have noted the beds are "comfortable" and "clean."
The hotel offers a 24/7 front desk staff, ensuring assistance is available at any time. There is also a business center on-site. For guests with vehicles, free self-parking is provided, including ample space for trucks, buses, and RVs, which is a significant advantage for larger vehicles. The hotel is pet-friendly, welcoming two dogs of any size for an additional fee per pet, per night (typically around $20-$30, with specific rooms only). This allows guests to travel with their furry companions. Other facilities include daily housekeeping and vending machines. It's important to note that while some older information might mention an indoor pool, more recent and reliable sources, including property details on major booking sites, state that "Super 8 by Wyndham Bath Hammondsport Area doesn't offer pool areas." Additionally, the property does not have elevators, which can be an inconvenience for guests with multiple bags or mobility challenges on upper floors, as highlighted by a customer review.
Customer reviews for Super 8 by Wyndham Bath Hammondsport Area offer a mixed but generally pragmatic perspective. One reviewer, who considers it their "go-to place on my way north," praises the "reasonable rates," "very friendly folks," and "comfortable CLEAN rooms," noting a "big improvement from 3 years ago." This positive feedback emphasizes the value and staff hospitality. Another reviewer, while experiencing issues like brown stains on towels and the aforementioned limited breakfast due to renovation, still found the room "very comfortable," indicating decent room comfort despite minor cleanliness issues. This suggests that the hotel can provide a satisfactory "basic place to crash" for a reasonable price.
However, the same review highlights the disappointment regarding the advertised breakfast being unavailable and the unexpected charge for a last-minute booking, which felt high given the circumstances. The lack of an elevator, as implicitly mentioned by a reviewer who stated "all elevators say out of order, but are used daily by housekeeping," suggests a common inconvenience for guests. While the property has undergone some renovations (e.g., "bathrooms were updated" with "marble shower panels and LED mirrors" according to external sources, and the property claims "renovated in 2001"), the overall perception from some guests is that the rooms can still be "a bit dated" or that the "facility could benefit from renovations to enhance the overall experience." This indicates that while improvements have been made, some areas might still show their age.
Promotional information from Super 8 by Wyndham Bath Hammondsport Area, under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts umbrella, emphasizes its position as a convenient and affordable option for travelers. They highlight their "free light breakfast item together with your choice of coffee, tea, and juice," free Wi-Fi, and free parking for various vehicle types. The hotel often promotes its proximity to local attractions like Watkins Glen Raceway, Stony Brook State Park, and the Finger Lakes wine region, positioning itself as a good starting point for regional exploration. Various discounts (e.g., military, AARP, AAA, Wyndham Rewards member rates) are typically available. The brand aims to provide a consistent, clean, and comfortable experience at an economical price point, making it a suitable choice for guests prioritizing value and essential amenities within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category.

Jan 07, 2025 · Rosalie YoderThis is my go-to place on my way north. Close to truck stop. Easy in and out. Last Reasonable rates before Erie, Buffalo and Rochester. Very friendly folks, comfortable CLEAN rooms. Close to services and restaurants. Big improvement from 3 years ago.
Mar 27, 2025 · Joseph GibsonI was totally satisfied with the cleanliness of the rooms for the price. Service was okay but not great. There was a sign posted on our door that did of we were dissatisfied with the room to meet them know and they would relocate us immediately. We didn't ask that option. When we mentioned our disappointment with the room, they asked why we hadn't met them know. If we had, they said they would have moved us. I do believe they would've done so had we asked. The breakfast option was not the best either. For me, the price was too high for what I received. That said, their prices for the area were the lowest we could find 4 days before staying there.
Sep 30, 2024 · Kevin AustinThis unexpected stop due to a snowstorm turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The staff was kind, the lobby and room were clean and fresh, and I enjoyed a great night’s sleep in a warm, comfortable bed.
Feb 09, 2025 · Renee HowardThe room had a foul odor and was not clean. We stayed 2 days and saw the police 3 times. That's a no it sucked.
