Horrible place to stay. The hotel smells like marijuana, the rooms are nasty and they have ladybugs all over the ceilings and walls. Bathroom was nasty and the tile was peeling off. There were not enough bath cloths and towels or toilet paper. Finding a working outlet was hit or miss. We had to try 3 different rooms because something was wrong in each one and the management did not even offer an apology. Instead, he seemed frustrated with us for THEIR mess. It was so nasty that I had to get my own cleaning supplies to clean up which is a bit much after a long day of traveling. But I couldn't allow my family to use the toilet that had turned brown because it hadn't been cleaned in so long. I would have rated it 0 if it was an option. You're better off sleeping in your car.

Its position on North Memorial Boulevard places it within easy reach of various dining options, retail outlets, and essential services. Moreover, for fans of motorsports, its proximity to the Martinsville Speedway is a major draw. These highly negative reviews indicate that, while the price and location may be attractive, guests should manage their expectations regarding the condition and cleanliness of the property and be prepared to potentially address issues upon check-in. Given the diverse customer feedback, calling the hotel directly is particularly important. For Virginia residents, considering the Super 8 by Wyndham Martinsville VA requires a careful assessment of priorities. While some aspects of the hotel's offering can be suitable for certain local travelers, it's crucial to approach a stay with realistic expectations based on the varied customer feedback.
The primary suitability for locals lies in its affordability and location. If you are a Virginia resident strictly adhering to a very tight budget (as indicated by the "$60 per night" price point) and prioritize location above all else, this hotel might serve as a basic, no-frills option. Its position on North Memorial Boulevard offers highly convenient access to Martinsville's main thoroughfares, including US-220, and is very close to essential retail like Walmart and Lowe's. For those attending events at the Martinsville Speedway, the proximity is undeniably a major advantage, potentially allowing for less travel time and parking hassle during busy event weekends. The pet-friendly policy, albeit with a weight limit for dogs, also caters to a specific segment of local travelers who need to bring their furry companions along.
However, it's imperative for local users to acknowledge the significant concerns raised in multiple customer reviews regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and occasional service issues. While it offers a low cost, this often comes with trade-offs in comfort and quality. For Virginians, if your primary goal is simply a very cheap bed for the night in a highly accessible location, and you are prepared to potentially bring your own cleaning supplies or address issues upon arrival, then the Super 8 by Wyndham Martinsville VA could be considered. For those who prioritize cleanliness, modern amenities, consistent comfort, and a consistently pleasant guest experience, it would be advisable to consider other options in the Martinsville area, even if they come at a slightly higher price point.
Ultimately, for Virginia residents, this hotel's suitability hinges on how much weight is placed on extreme budget savings versus the potential for a less-than-ideal hotel experience.

Nov 30, 2016 · Mrs. LaWanda MoyerThe service and location is great and the cost is even better at $60 per night. But like they say, you get what you pay for. Don't expect anything nice, clean or new. Its pretty ran down.
Mar 11, 2024 · Aren RHorrible experience. Got there at 6:30 to check in owner's wife had left the hotel to go get her nails done. When she arrived I asked for a discount due to me sitting in the waiting room waiting for an hour and a half on our room. She gets husband on the phone and he has a horrible and terrible attitude with me. Yes I told them I would be checking in at 5 or around it but I also have an autistic grandson that I am raising and he had a bad meltdown so I was not able to check in at that time. The owner actually stated that he did not care about my problems or my family that he didn't want to hear about it The owners degraded me gave me no discount whatsoever, we were supposed to have a queen/ king bed ended up with a double which was extremely small, comforter did not fit, air conditioner did not work that well and there was absolutely no towels in the room. I go back downstairs to get towels and while I am standing there the owner's wife gives another lady a room for $35 and charged me $67 for a double instead of a king but yet gave her a discount but did not give me a discount and we had to wait for two hours plus we also had groceries in the car that ruined because we had to wait on her to get back from getting her nails done. The owners husband stated that his wife can do what she wants when she wants to and it's not his fault that there was no one there to check us in. We actually got so concerned that we called dispatch to have someone to come and check to see what was going on because we have never been to a hotel where we were in the lobby for 2 hours almost and no one there to help us. In fact the owner said that I had had an attitude and said well if you don't apologize to me then you can just go on somewhere and by that time it was already 8 at night and I was ready for bed. I do not suggest this in no way, saw 2 drug transactions as I was sitting in the lobby but he stated that he had cleaned up the hotel and that there was no drugs allowed on premises but I watch with my own eyes two transactions and a woman going around the back side of the building with a needle in her hand. I do not suggest this hotel to anyone at all until they can get new owners.
Oct 06, 2020 · Kathy NorrisWe were very happy with the room and the price. We were not bothered at all. The first room we had was on the 2nd floor and it was a really nice room. The second time we stayed we were on the 3rd floor and the room wasn't as nice but it was still great for the price. Beds are comfortable, and we had cable, a mini fridge and a microwave. Staff was awesome. The only complaints we had was there wasn't a phone or alarm clock in the room on the 3rd floor. I'm not sure why. They may not have known they were missing. And when we asked for an extra pillow they didn't have one. But it was a Saturday night and the hotel was full. But overall, for $43 it was a wonderful stay. Thanks Super8!
Sep 10, 2017 · Christin PalmerThe room was pretty cheap for the night and it was a decent stay. The furniture in the room was dated and quite worn. The bed was pretty decent with clean linens. The carpet in the room needed cleaning and the cushions on the chairs were dusty. The bathroom was pretty clean, but the faucet on the sink was leaking and you could see where it's been dripping in the sink for some time. The breakfast was minimal, but expected considering the price of the room. Something unexpected was the size of the TV in the room and it being mounted on wall. Overall for the price, it was a good stay for a night.
