The vinyl laminate flooring is literally crumbling. This is a huge trip hazard, not to mention a very high risk of injury. This is well beyond normal wear and tear. The flooring has failed, completely. How do they vacuum or mop it? I don't see how they could. This damage doesn't happen overnight, so how long has it been since these floors were cleaned? Or they got the cheapest non-waterproof flooring, installed it poorly, and then repeatedly wet mopped it, causing it to degrade and fail. But again, this is long term neglect. What more expensive? Replacing it with better stuff and taking care of it properly, or having a lawsuit on your hands when someone trips and falls on it? This is all just unfathomable. I've stayed in some pretty crummy dives, but this is probably the single most neglected room I've ever seen.

The environment of the SureStay Plus by Best Western Jonestown Lebanon Valley, situated on Marsanna Lane, suggests a location that is generally accessible for travelers passing through or visiting the Jonestown and Lebanon Valley region. As a SureStay Plus, the brand generally aims for a clean and functional environment, often catering to budget-conscious travelers. However, the internal environment, particularly concerning the physical condition of the rooms, has been a significant point of concern for recent guests. Reviews explicitly state severe issues with the flooring: "The vinyl laminate flooring is literally crumbling." This is described as a "huge trip hazard" and a "very high risk of injury," indicating a substantial maintenance issue. The crumbling flooring also raises questions about hygiene, as it's noted, "How do they vacuum or mop it? I don't see how they could. This damage doesn't happen overnight, so how long has it been since these floors were cleaned?" This severe degradation suggests "long term neglect" of the property's physical state. One guest went as far as to say, "I've stayed in some pretty crummy dives, but this is probably the single most neglected room I've ever seen." This feedback paints a picture of an environment that, at least in certain areas, falls significantly below standard expectations for cleanliness and safety, which is a critical aspect for anyone searching for reliable "Hotels Near Of Me."
In terms of services, a SureStay Plus by Best Western typically offers fundamental amenities and guest support, such as a front desk. However, the nature of the issues reported regarding the physical condition of the rooms raises questions about the overall diligence of maintenance and perhaps even housekeeping services. While the provided reviews do not detail interactions with staff regarding specific service requests, the presence of severe maintenance issues suggests a lack of proactive oversight. It is implied that fundamental services like room upkeep may not be consistently executed to an acceptable standard. For a hotel, cleanliness and safety are paramount services that should be consistently delivered. The fact that the flooring issues are described as "long term neglect" suggests a systemic problem rather than an isolated incident. While the hotel is noted as being "pet friendly," which is a service that appeals to a specific segment of travelers, the overall impression of service quality is heavily influenced by the condition of the physical property. Guests did note that the "Room was decent" for the price, which implies basic needs might be met, but the severe floor issues are a glaring exception to this. Any assistance provided by staff would be in the context of these underlying structural and cleanliness concerns.
The features of the SureStay Plus by Best Western Jonestown Lebanon Valley, based on the provided information, include pet-friendly accommodations. This is a valuable feature for travelers with pets, who often find limited options. One guest specifically mentioned that the "shop we used referred this hotel as the only pet friendly hotel" in the area, highlighting its niche. The rooms are described as "decent" overall, though one guest found the "bed was a little hard." Beyond the pet-friendly policy, the most prominent feature highlighted in the negative reviews is the condition of the "vinyl laminate flooring," which is crumbling and poses a "trip hazard." This critical issue impacts the overall functionality and safety of the rooms. While SureStay Plus properties typically offer features like free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and sometimes a fitness center or pool, these specific amenities are not mentioned in the provided reviews. The focus of the feedback is heavily on the structural integrity and cleanliness of the room itself. Therefore, while the hotel offers basic lodging, the significant concern about the flooring detracts substantially from any positive features it might otherwise possess. For those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me," the functionality and safety of the physical space are paramount features.
From a promotional standpoint, the SureStay Plus by Best Western Jonestown Lebanon Valley, as part of the Best Western family, would likely participate in the Best Western Rewards loyalty program, offering points and potential member benefits. This serves as a general promotional tool for the brand. The hotel's pricing is noted as being "not bad for the price," indicating that it positions itself as a budget-friendly option. Its key promotional advantage seems to be its status as a "pet friendly hotel," filling a specific need in the area. However, the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the "crumbling" flooring and "neglected room" severely undermines any positive promotional efforts. While the hotel might attract guests based on its price point or pet-friendly policy, the strong language in the reviews about safety and cleanliness issues ("unfathomable," "single most neglected room") acts as a counter-promotion, urging caution. For any hotel, especially those in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, word-of-mouth and online reviews are critical. In this case, the negative reviews suggest that the hotel may be relying on its low price point and specific niche (pet-friendliness) to attract guests, rather than overall quality and maintenance. Potential guests are strongly advised to consider these severe maintenance issues when evaluating any promotional offers or booking this property, as safety concerns outweigh the benefits of a low price or pet accommodation.

Apr 11, 2025 · M LWe had to put our truck in the shop. The shop we used referred this hotel as the only pet friendly hotel. Room was decent, bed was a little hard. Over all not bad for the price.
May 14, 2025 · Anthony EckThis place has a musty smell, my room had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, mold growing on the window a shower that just didn't drain properly. Forget trying to find the front desk person, they are never at the front desk. breakfast wasn't terrible but I've had better at other hotels.
Feb 04, 2025 · Dawn ZimmermanQuite enjoyed my 7 day stay here. Far from perfect: pet friendly + carpeting don’t mix very well, but breakfast room was bright & well stocked. Lobby and hallways were clean & bright. Staff is very helpful & friendly. About 45 minutes from Carlisle and 20 minutes from Hershey on I-81.
Oct 13, 2024 · Greg KhouriFront desk employees aren't there a lot. Some people who work there, live in the house across street, and constantly walk back home and hang out. Went to get towels at 1200am and nobody was at desk. They were in their office, with door shut and asleep. Bathtub wouldn't drain properly, and only 1 out of 3 light bulbs were working. Room was dusty, and cleaning people left their drinks on table prior to our arrival. People live at the hotel with dogs and usually outside and out front and talking to herself. Ac did work great and bed was comfy. Gym, isn't really a gym and pool was very cloudy.
