I stayed here a year ago with my dog, and felt it was a decent, economical choice. I just stayed here overnight with her this past weekend and the room I was given was much worse, with large areas of damage in the bathroom and front doors, fur or hair in the heating/cooling unit vent, slow bathtub drain, bent lamps, and the worst plastic coffee machine I have ever seen. I feel like I was charged $20 for having a dog and in return got the worst room. It really just needs a little basic maintenance. The room smelled faintly of smoke. The beds and linens appeared clean, and I was grateful for the microwave and refrigerator. The grassy area is dark and not lit at night, and no trash available for poop disposal, so watch your step! I did not complain or ask for another room because I was exhausted after a long day driving. I was emailed a simple apology in response to my complaints on the hotel's survey. I will not be returning here.
For local users and travelers seeking an economical lodging option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category in the Grantville/Hershey area, Days Inn by Wyndham Grantville Hershey North might appear as a choice. Located at 252 Bow Creek Rd, Grantville, PA 17028, USA, the hotel can be contacted at (717) 219-2843 or +1 717-219-2843. It is crucial to provide an objective introduction based on available information, including direct customer feedback, to offer a comprehensive understanding of what prospective guests might experience at this establishment.
The environment of Days Inn by Wyndham Grantville Hershey North presents a mixed picture based on recent guest experiences. From the exterior, the hotel "looks old," which might set an initial impression. However, one reviewer noted that despite the exterior, their room was "very clean and comfortable." This suggests that while the building's facade may show its age, efforts are made to maintain the interior of individual rooms. Conversely, another recent stay indicated significant issues with the room environment. This guest described a room with "large areas of damage in the bathroom and front doors," "fur or hair in the heating/cooling unit vent," "slow bathtub drain," and "bent lamps." They also noted a "faintly of smoke" smell in the room, which can be a significant deterrent for non-smokers. Furthermore, the outdoor environment, particularly the "grassy area," was described as "dark and not lit at night," with "no trash available for poop disposal" for pet owners, raising concerns about safety and cleanliness for pet walks.
Regarding services, the provided reviews offer limited insight into the overall service quality beyond specific interactions. One guest mentioned being "emailed a simple apology in response to my complaints on the hotel's survey," which indicates that the hotel does engage with guest feedback, even if the resolution may not always satisfy the guest. The hotel charges a pet fee, noted as "$20 for having a dog," which is a service feature for pet owners to be aware of. However, the reviewer who paid this fee felt they received a "worse room" in return, suggesting a potential disconnect in value perception for this service. For breakfast, a standard amenity for many budget hotels, the feedback stated, "Breakfast was lacking but the coffee was good." This suggests that while a complimentary breakfast is offered, its quality or variety might not meet all expectations.
The features of Days Inn by Wyndham Grantville Hershey North are typical of a budget-friendly hotel, aiming to provide essential comforts. The rooms are noted for having "beds and linens appeared clean," which is a fundamental expectation for any accommodation. The presence of a "microwave and refrigerator" in the room is a valuable feature, especially for guests on extended stays or those looking to save on dining costs. These amenities allow for basic food storage and preparation, enhancing convenience. While a coffee machine is present, one reviewer described it as the "worst plastic coffee machine I have ever seen," indicating a potential need for improvement in the quality of in-room appliances.
The hotel's location is a practical feature for those visiting the Grantville/Hershey area, providing proximity to local attractions such as Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and the various Hershey attractions, including Hersheypark and Hershey's Chocolate World. Its position on Bow Creek Road places it in a cluster of hotels, offering easy access to the main roads in the area.
From a promotional perspective for local users leveraging the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, Days Inn by Wyndham Grantville Hershey North positions itself as an "economical choice." This suggests its primary appeal is its affordability. While it offers pet-friendly accommodations, the experience of a guest who paid the pet fee and received a room with significant damage raises concerns about the consistency of room quality, particularly for those with pets. The general cleanliness of beds and linens is a positive, as are the in-room microwave and refrigerator, which add practical value for an overnight or short stay. However, the reported issues with room damage, maintenance, unpleasant smells, and outdoor lighting/pet waste facilities are significant drawbacks that potential guests should consider. The "lacking" breakfast is also a point to note for those who prioritize a robust morning meal. Therefore, while it might be a budget-conscious option for a quick "overnight stay," guests with higher expectations for room condition, comprehensive amenities, or pet-friendly outdoor areas might find aspects of their stay disappointing. The recurring theme of "needs a little basic maintenance" and the explicit statement "I will not be returning here" from a previous guest are strong indicators for future visitors to manage their expectations accordingly and perhaps consider it primarily as a no-frills, cost-effective stopover.

Dec 18, 2024 · Susan DionneLooks old from the outside but the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lacking but the coffee was good. Good for an overnight stay.
Apr 12, 2025 · MABC TreasurerThis hotel is absolutely fantastic for it's value! The rooms are honestly well kept and were clean and comfortable. The staff around the hotel was very very kind, and would always help out when needed. The free breakfast service does the job well, with a *small* variety of hot and cold foods and drinks. The rooms are quiet even with a very convenient location, being just a minute off of I-81, about 15 out of Hershey and 20 out of Harrisburg. Overall a great stay and I'd recommend it for the value.
Oct 21, 2024 · Northern Virginia RailfanBooked this hotel for my boyfriend and our Ragdoll cat, Snowball. They absolutely love it here. The room is pet friendly with a non-carpet room. The beds are clean and nice. The room is a decent size and super clean. The owner is super sweet and went out of his way to ensure they were set up for a good stay. They sell drinks at the front desk. All in all, a painless check in process.
Oct 22, 2024 · Morgan InnocentStayed here in June for Hershey with my girlfriend and I expected way better of this place. The bed was fine, but the rooms felt very sketchy to me. I didn’t feel safe leaving her there to go get breakfast. Speaking of which, the “breakfast” was awful! Only fruit, toast, and a pancake maker. How about some more variety? The “Fitness Center” is a total joke; just a few treadmills and a medicine ball with a clock that wasn’t even set right and lights that didn’t work. On top of that, the key to the “fitness center” looks identical to the room key and very easy to confuse with! Just a really dirty place. Very disappointed with the hotel, waste of money (not to mention a drive), and not satisfied with the employees there either. Will not be returning.
