Booking this hotel was the worst experience ever. I booked this room due to being in town for a house warming. I thought when booking this was Best Western. The front desk stay was friendly but had trouble taking my correct information. I literally gave her my phone number and email approx 12x. The moment she swiped my card she informed me the elevator was broke and I would have to climb stairs. This should’ve been communicated prior to taking the funds so I could’ve made the decision to stay and climb stairs or find another hotel that accommodates. Next, one I walked into the 1st room is was visible stain all over the bedding. I immediately returned to the front desk requesting a refund. The lady states “no refunds are allowed “ but she offered another room. This second room the linen on the bed was white but guess what? It was visible BLOOD on the linen. Again, I requested a refund. Once again I’m told no. She took me to a 3rd room. We’ll the room had old food stains on the desk which she offered to clean. However, while sitting there in the room I seen a roach crawling, and noticed several stains on those bedding. I immediately left! So money lost due to this hotel sanitation.

For us South Carolinians, choosing a hotel in Spartanburg often involves a blend of practical considerations and budget. SureStay Plus By Best Western Spartanburg Southwest, positioned as an affordable option, can be suitable for certain local needs, provided one approaches it with clear expectations based on recent guest experiences.
If you are a local resident needing a very budget-conscious place to stay for a night or two, perhaps due to unexpected home issues, attending a local event where other options are fully booked, or simply passing through Spartanburg and requiring basic, economical lodging, this hotel might be considered. The free breakfast, in-room microwave and refrigerator, and free parking are certainly convenient amenities that add value at this price point. For those with pets, the pet-friendly policy could also be a significant advantage, removing a common hurdle for travelers with animal companions.
However, it is crucial for our local users to be aware of the detailed feedback provided by recent guests. Concerns about significant cleanliness issues (stained bedding, mold, roaches), maintenance problems (broken elevator, non-working hairdryer, loose toilet), and a strict "no refund" policy are serious considerations. This means that while the hotel aims for affordability, the actual guest experience might fall short of basic expectations for hygiene and functionality. Therefore, for locals, this hotel might be considered a last-resort option or one for which you go in with very low expectations, prioritizing only the absolute lowest price point. It underscores the importance of thorough research and perhaps even calling the hotel directly to inquire about the current status of facilities before committing to a non-refundable booking.

Oct 17, 2022 · MyNaturalBeauty1Stayed 4/30 checked out 5/1. They were very short staffed. The counter person doing housekeeping and running the front. The sleeping part was clean. The bathroom however looked as if it never seen any cleaner at all. The mold was all around the shower. The light in the shower was falling out of the ceiling. The toilet was very loose on the floor. The hairdryer did not work. I realize it is a budget hotel but they have a no refund policy and require a $100 deposit on top of the charges. Will never be staying here again.
May 01, 2022 · Keith EthridgeIf I could rate it lower I would. We checked in very late. The room we were sent to was FILTHY! It looked like a crime scene that hadn’t been cleaned up well. We stayed long enough to find another room and left. When we left, we were told that they couldn’t process a refund and we would have to talk to the manager, Polly, the next day. The next day, no Polly. I spoke to Mike who referred to her as the owner. He told me to call back later that day. Later that day, no Polly, Mike said to call tomorrow. Called the next day and spoke to Polly. She informed me they have a no refund policy, she’s the manager and not the owner and she only unforced the owners policies. The owners however are “out of the country” and can only be contacted through email. I explained that I would just fight the charges, they would not get their money anyway and it would just be a “Pain in my ass”. Polly’s response “Sir, there is no reason for that kind of language” 🤣🤣🤣 are you kidding me? They require $100 deposit for incidentals, not just a card on file, this should have been the first sign of a dump! I wouldn’t let my worst Emily stay here.
Oct 21, 2022 · Jon GittlemanThere was 2 huge water bugs in my room running around as soon as I opened the room door the pillows were tiny like couch pillows so they switched me to a room that was supposed to be 2 queens got in the room and it was 2 twin looking beds so I just took my chances with the roach room the beds were very uncomfortable they didn’t come to clean or replace the towels I called the front desk 35 times and she claimed that she didn’t hear it until I called her while she was standing in front of me and it started ringing and all of a sudden she heard it then. She proceeded to say if I rated her 5 stars she would take 10 dollars off it was very dirty 2 of the lamps didn’t work stains on the towels. Would not recommend to anybody!
May 18, 2022 · Nnisha WilliamsI would rate this -0 stars if i could. At night there are bugs EVERYWHERE! My remote was NOT programmed so i couldn’t change the TV channel. because of the bugs i had to leave at 12:30 in the morning even though i paid for 2 nights. i immediately notified the person at the front desk who gave me back my $100 no smoking deposit (worried about smoking when the place is infested with bugs but ok), but told me to return the next MORNING for the manager. I returned the next morning for my refund and the manager and 3 other men gave me the hardest time. they lied to make it seem as though i made up the bugs, when i went back into the room it was CLEAR someone had stayed the night there after i had left! They lied and said i made a mess that was already there due to their renovations. Overall very seedy and disgusting hotel. Would not stay here if you value quality, quiet, and customer service!!!!
