May 16, 2025 · Stephanos WayWe travel through the UP yearly to get to our cabin and this motel is the perfect distance to stay after our first day of travel. Really can't beat the price and I love supporting smaller establishments like this. The woman we spoke with (I believe Christine?) Was very kind and accommodating. Walked us to our room and even took a peek inside to make sure it was up to par before leaving us. She also mentioned a discount for cash payments so next year we'll probably bring cash with us. Our room had a small flat screen TV with descent basic channels, a good sized mini fridge, a small microwave, and a pretty big closet. The water heater was the best we've gotten from a UP motel so far! Both my husband and I took long showers and there was no sign of running out of hot water. The towels were also very soft, which was great! We didn't see any signs of pests that other reviewers mentioned. It was also mentioned that they're doing updates on the rooms. AC worked great (not sure about heater since we stayed during summer). The sheets smelled clean without any strong scents which I really appreciate. Cons: I called in the morning to reserve a room but by the time we'd gotten there that evening, our original reservation card was lost, which was a bit bothersome since I think my credit card info was written on it... Since I saw one other review mention the same thing, I'd suggest a better system for keeping track of those cards. Not the best thing to lose track of. I do agree with the comments about sagging bed. Normally I wouldn't mind too much, but being 8 months pregnant I noticed a bit more than I normally would have. No black out curtains... Especially with east facing windows. My toddler woke up very early because of this. When travelling that's a recipe for disaster. No continental breakfast (for now? The sign mentioned COVID..) not an issue for us though since we deal with allergies anyway and pack our own food because of that. No shampoo/conditioner, only bar soaps. But that's another thing that I usually bring myself anyway so that wasn't a problem for us.
Jul 02, 2023 · Monica SmithLocation is perfect on the main road. Rooms are good enough for what you pay. They are really nice about any rescheduling or cancellation. This is the best you get for the price.
May 30, 2024 · Peter MThis place was great if you want to save a buck and we do. Motels around Lake Superior are outrageously expensive. Worse than Hawaii if you can believe it. A couple ladies run this motel outside town in the country. Super safe! They leave the keys in the room. If you can imagine this, she met us in the parking lot and set us up. The best service ever. She brought my receipt to the room. It's all on one floor, drive up to your room. Ours had new floors. She promised us a clean room and it was! Moderate sized, refrigerator and microwave no bath but a shower. Dated room with a CRT TV. Hadn’t seen one in a while. It was off the highway and quiet. In a place where rooms run ($200-400) this was $75. We are doing a travel book and blog 49 states in 4 years. I wish we could find more motels like this. They may offer breakfast, I didn’t check. I highly recommend this place. We would stay here over and over.
Jul 25, 2022 · Randi CusterThis is a nice, cheap place to stay if you need. They have weekly rates as well if you're just moving out here. The area is safe and quiet aside from being off of the highway. I'd definitely recommend this place over the others that try charging an arm and a leg for a room. Everything you might want is relatively close by, from fast foods to grocery stores. The place isn't some 5 star hotel though, it's great for the price but don't go in expecting a chef to be on staff. I checked around the room as well and couldn't find any evidence of pests.
