This restaurant has to be a joke. the food here is tasteless and highly overpriced. We had TEMPURA SHRIMP, 3 pieces served over red cabbage. It was left in the fryer too long and there was more batter then actual shrimp. For sides I had ROASTED GARLIC MASHED POTATOES, there was no taste of roasted garlic in it. It tasted more like red-skinned potatoes and was a bit sweet. For my Entree I had the JUMBO GARLIC SHRIMP (2 orders), it was 4-5 pieces of shrimp served with risotto. The risotto was under cooked and bland, no salt. The shrimp was the only good piece of food, just barely. The bill for this meal was $91.00 and change. That's right, this food cost Ninety-One Dollars. The messed up part is that I went to the Pizza place inside the Resort and bought 2 slices of pizza and a bottle of coke, the best food of the night. Do not eat at the Exchange. Save your money and go else where, there are numerous local restaurants outside of the resort.

Environment and Ambiance:

The Exchange At Pocono Manor is positioned within the broader setting of Pocono Manor, a location historically known for its expansive grounds and traditional resort atmosphere. The Pocono Manor Resort, where The Exchange is located, has a rich history, operating as a hotel since 1902 and listed on the National Registry of Historic Places as a historic district. While the original historic hotel building suffered a fire in late 2019, The Exchange operates within the larger Pocono Manor property, which continues to function and offer various amenities, including a golf course. Therefore, the ambiance of The Exchange would be influenced by its setting within this historic and scenic estate. The dining room aims to offer a comfortable and potentially slightly upscale atmosphere, complementing the overall guest offerings. The historical context of Pocono Manor often evokes a sense of tradition and natural beauty, with serene surroundings in the Pocono Mountains. While specific recent renovations for The Exchange itself are not detailed, the surrounding property underwent its last major renovation in 2011. The environment benefits from the resort's 3,500 acres, offering a sense of space and tranquility that is a hallmark of the Poconos.

Services and Amenities:

As a restaurant located within a resort, The Exchange At Pocono Manor primarily provides dining services, typically focusing on dinner. However, the overarching Pocono Manor Resort property, where The Exchange is located, offers a comprehensive range of services and amenities that enhance the overall guest experience. The resort historically boasted 36 holes of championship golf, a significant draw for golf enthusiasts, with an 18-hole course designed by William Flynn and Donald Ross. Other recreational activities associated with the wider property include indoor and outdoor pools, horseback riding, hiking and ATV trails, and a private movie theater. For guests staying at the resort, the convenience of on-site dining at The Exchange is a notable service. The resort also offers complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel, including dining areas. Beyond The Exchange, the resort provides other dining options, such as a casual pizza place or a pub-style lounge like The Old Lamplighter Lounge, catering to diverse preferences. The full-service offerings of the larger resort, including a spa and fitness center, contribute to a well-rounded experience for visitors.

Features and Unique Selling Points:

The primary feature of The Exchange At Pocono Manor, from a dining perspective, is its location as an on-site restaurant within a historic resort property. For guests staying at the associated property, it offers a convenient dining option, particularly for dinner. The resort's historical significance, its sprawling grounds, and its diverse range of activities—from golf to outdoor pursuits—are unique selling points that indirectly benefit The Exchange by drawing a varied clientele. While the direct features of The Exchange's cuisine are subject to individual taste, its integration within a larger recreational and event-hosting destination is a key characteristic. The resort has historically been a popular venue for events, including weddings and conferences, providing The Exchange with a steady stream of potential diners. The Poconos setting itself, known for its natural beauty, adds to the appeal for those seeking a getaway with on-site dining options.

Promotional Information:

Promotional information for The Exchange At Pocono Manor is typically integrated with the broader marketing efforts of the Pocono Manor Resort. This often includes being part of resort packages that combine accommodation with dining credits or specific meal plans. For example, past promotions for the resort have included daily breakfast for guests, and some packages have offered a 4-course dinner at the Lamp Lighter Lounge, suggesting similar offerings might apply to The Exchange or other on-site dining. The resort's website and direct booking channels are the best sources for current promotions, which might include discounted room rates, seasonal dining events, or special offers for groups and extended stays. Given the resort's capacity to host events, The Exchange would likely be highlighted in promotional materials for conferences, weddings, and other gatherings, offering tailored dining experiences. Local tourism initiatives for the Pocono Mountains might also feature The Exchange as a dining option for visitors to the region, particularly those interested in historic resorts.

Customer Experiences and Objective Introduction:

An objective introduction to The Exchange At Pocono Manor necessitates an honest assessment of customer experiences, as the provided reviews offer a distinctly critical perspective. The recurring sentiment from the reviews is notably negative, with the restaurant being described as "a joke" where "the food here is tasteless and highly overpriced." Specific culinary criticisms are detailed: the "TEMPURA SHRIMP" was "left in the fryer too long" with "more batter than actual shrimp." The "ROASTED GARLIC MASHED POTATOES" reportedly lacked any roasted garlic flavor, tasting "more like red-skinned potatoes and was a bit sweet." The "JUMBO GARLIC SHRIMP" entree, served with risotto, was criticized for its "undercooked and bland, no salt" risotto, with the shrimp itself being "just barely" good. The high cost of the meal, with a bill of "$91.00 and change," was also a significant point of dissatisfaction, leading the reviewer to strongly advise, "Do not eat at the Exchange. Save your money and go elsewhere, there are numerous local restaurants outside of the resort." Interestingly, the same reviewer found the "Pizza place inside the Resort" to offer the "best food of the night," suggesting that other dining options within the same property might be more favorably received.

It is crucial to acknowledge that these reviews focus exclusively on the dining experience at The Exchange and do not provide a comprehensive overview of other services or amenities offered by the broader Pocono Manor Resort. While the resort property itself maintains a historic charm and offers a wide array of activities, these specific reviews suggest that the culinary execution and value proposition at The Exchange restaurant may be inconsistent or fall short of guest expectations. For local users utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category and specifically seeking a memorable dining experience at this establishment, these strong critiques regarding food quality, taste, and pricing are significant considerations. Therefore, while The Exchange offers the convenience of on-site dining within a notable Pocono Mountains resort, prospective diners might wish to explore other local restaurants in the area for their culinary needs, as recommended by the dissatisfied customer, or consider the resort's more casual dining alternatives.

This is long over due however I need to wrote this review so no other bride has to go through the experience I did. My fiance and I booked our wedding here with Evan Sharp. Upon booking we were told that a cosmetic change was going to be done to the room we had booked to make it look better. So being told that we booked. Months went by and we received a call from Nicole new wedding coordinator telling us that Evan was no longer with the company. We met with Nicole to go over our wedding and while there we asked if the cosmetic change was completed. She had no idea what we were talking about so she said she would look into it. Weeks went by and we heard nothing so we called and she said that that change was never in the plan. So we were lied to! We had to no idea what to do. We talked to Nicole about our options and then we're very slim. We already put the deposit down and I was getting a room I wasn't 100% happy about. Nicole said she we take it to management and see what could be done. Again weeks went by and we heard nothing. So I called and told her I want my money back she said she could give it back, she just had to talk to management. Again weeks went by and we heard nothing. I called and asked if I could come and get the money ahe said that it takes the financial office awhile to process that it would be out soon. A whole month went by and nothing Nicole began to ignore my texts and calls. It took me threatening to get my lawyer involved for me to recieve my deposit. This place is prides itself on wedding but they treat people like just another paycheck then people. I would never recommend thia place to any bride. Save yourself for the stress.
