Location: The hotel's location was very convenient, with the graduation venue just across the street, making it easy to walk to the event. May 13, 2025 · SiNsAtIoN BrownWe went for graduation weekend. The rooms were very clean, staff very helpful and efficient and you could not ask for a better location. The parking lot was nice and we could walk to everything included the graduation which was a big plus due to the traffic. Our graduates apartment was also right next door so it was perfect for us. They do inflate the price of the room for this particular weekend but it is well worth it to avoid the traveling hassle. We also enjoyed the coffee from the coffee shop in the lobby several times and the rooftop area at the Bee & Butter is absolutely amazing. We went up a few times and had drinks and at night with the lights and the views it was wonderful. Unfortunately the Bee & Butter only did buffets during this weekend and we did do the brunch buffet after graduation but were very disappointed with the food offered and the price they charged. I am sure any other time the food is wonderful but we were not impressed. Overall a very nice hotel!
May 12, 2025 · Sherry NorrisThis place was an amazing place to stay. The rooms were modern and clean. Our stay was quiet. We took advantage of the rooftop bar which had beautiful views and really good cocktails (empress jam!) We also took advantage of the coffee shop downstairs which had excellent coffee and baked goods. Staff was extremely friendly. We traveled with a dog and they had dog waste stations and green spaces. We were able to walk with our dog through campus and also walked to dinner downtown. I highly recommend The Highlander!!!
Apr 05, 2025 · Julee MartinHosted an event here for an end of year get together. Wanted to love this place SO bad. Unbelievably disappointing. We paid over a thousand dollars to be in a small ballroom on the first floor. This included four bowls of dip, which was delicious but only one small bowl of chips which didn’t get us through even one bowl of dip. When we requested more, Dean whose service was wonderful, said the kitchen told him they couldn’t make anymore. When we first arrived we wanted to head to the rooftop for photos since we were dressed in formal attire to which we were immediately turned away. After coming downstairs and talking to our AMAZING bartender Heather, I explained our disappointment in the situation and disappointment that we weren’t made aware that we wouldn’t be able to take photos on the rooftop, she was able to coordinate with the man at Bee and Butter who turned us away. Heather single-handedly got us access to the roof so we could take photos but ultimately the ordeal took about a half hour of our 2 hour room time. Heather, not the bartender but the one who was in charge of coordinating the room was not very informative and difficult to get ahold of. The experience was stressful and disappointing and we didn’t get to enjoy the event because we were so occupied trying to fix everything. For the price, it was not worth it. Heather the bartender and Dean were wonderful though. Impeccable service from them.
Apr 19, 2025 · Abby VaughtTravel a lot for work and stay at lots of hotels. This hotels bed is one of the hardest mattresses I've ever slept on. The pillows were a joke - flimsy and non-fluffy, very flat and small. Horrible bed and sleep experience, had to constantly move since mattress was so hard. Woke up with sore back and neck. Never again. Go for the rooftop experience but stay somewhere else. You have been warned if you can't handle a hard mattress.
