Decent pricing with plenty of amenities. Apparently remodeled. 2 floors, Apparently no elevators. Not fond of 2nd floor entrance constantly needing room key for access. Pool looks good, water was tepid. Breakfast area was a basic warm breakfast with waffles, eggs; both scrambled and cold hard boiled. Kielbasa sausage sliced (not a fan) I prefer breakfast sausage link or patties. Staff says varies by day, sometimes ham. 2 varieties of cereal. Looks like there were packets of oatmeal. I had salsa with the scrambled eggs. Burritos available, so decent selection. Coffee was only warm. Themed after punxatuny Phil's presence here. There was also a bar. Staff friendly. Water pressure very well. Near Walmart and restaurants. For the price I paid, amazing amenities.

The Inn at Punxsutawney Introduce

For travelers seeking convenient and comfortable accommodation in the heart of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, the platform "Hotels Near Of Me" highlights The Inn at Punxsutawney. Located at 188 Alliance Dr, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, USA, this hotel offers a blend of modern amenities and local charm, all at a decent price point. Whether you're in town for the world-famous Groundhog Day celebration or simply passing through, The Inn at Punxsutawney aims to provide a welcoming stay.

Environment: A Convenient Location with Local Flair

The Inn at Punxsutawney is strategically situated at 188 Alliance Drive, providing guests with a practical and accessible base for exploring the town. Its proximity to essential services and dining options is a significant advantage. Guests note its convenient location near a Walmart and various restaurants, making it easy to fulfill daily needs and enjoy local cuisine without extensive travel. This accessibility is particularly beneficial for those on a tight schedule or families seeking convenience. The hotel's interior reflects a recently remodeled aesthetic, suggesting a fresh and updated environment for guests. The property spans two floors, offering a traditional hotel layout. The overall ambiance is designed to be welcoming and functional, catering to a range of travelers from leisure visitors to those on business. A unique aspect of The Inn at Punxsutawney is its thematic connection to the town's most famous resident: Punxsutawney Phil. This subtle nod to the Groundhog Day tradition adds a touch of local character and charm to the hotel's environment, setting it apart from more generic accommodations. While specific details on the exterior landscaping or immediate surroundings are not provided, its location on Alliance Drive suggests a well-established area with typical commercial and retail conveniences.

Services and Features: A Range of Amenities for a Comfortable Stay

The Inn at Punxsutawney prides itself on offering a variety of amenities that enhance the guest experience, particularly given its "decent pricing." One of the key features is the complimentary breakfast, designed to provide a warm and hearty start to the day. The breakfast selection typically includes staples like waffles and eggs, with both scrambled and cold hard-boiled options available. While the specific protein offering may vary by day—sometimes kielbasa sausage (though not a favorite for all), sometimes ham, as stated by staff—the availability of burritos and various cereals ensures a decent selection to cater to different tastes. The presence of oatmeal packets also adds to the variety. Guests appreciate the inclusion of salsa with scrambled eggs, allowing for a personalized touch. However, it's noted that the coffee might only be warm at times, which is a minor point to consider. This hot breakfast offering adds significant value, especially for budget-conscious travelers.

For recreation and relaxation, the hotel boasts a pool, which guests describe as looking "good." While the water temperature was noted as "tepid" by one reviewer, the mere presence of an indoor pool provides a valuable amenity, especially for families or those looking to unwind after a day of activities. The hotel also features a bar, offering an on-site option for guests to enjoy a drink and socialize in the evening without having to leave the premises.

Regarding accessibility, it's important to note that the hotel has two floors and "apparently no elevators." This is a crucial piece of information for guests with mobility challenges or those carrying heavy luggage, especially if assigned to the second floor. Furthermore, access to the second floor consistently requires a room key, which some guests find less convenient. In-room amenities are designed for comfort and functionality. Guests report very good water pressure in the bathrooms, a small but significant detail that contributes to a positive shower experience. While specific details on bed firmness vary by individual preference, with one guest finding beds "too soft," the overall impression is that the rooms are well-maintained following the remodel. The friendly staff is consistently highlighted as a positive aspect of the hotel's service, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

Promotional Information and Guest Impressions

The Inn at Punxsutawney stands out primarily for its value proposition, offering a good array of amenities for the price paid. Guests consistently remark that for the cost, the hotel provides "amazing amenities." This makes it an attractive option for travelers looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. The recent remodel is a significant draw, suggesting updated facilities and a fresh look, which enhances the overall guest experience. The hotel's unique theme, subtly celebrating Punxsutawney Phil, adds a memorable local touch that might appeal to visitors interested in the town's famous groundhog. The positive feedback on staff friendliness also contributes significantly to the hotel's appeal, indicating a service-oriented approach that makes guests feel welcomed and attended to.

However, it is important to objectively present all aspects of the guest experience. While the complimentary breakfast is a strong point, the varying protein options and sometimes merely warm coffee are minor considerations. The lack of an elevator for the second floor and the consistent need for a room key to access the second floor are practical limitations that some guests might find inconvenient. Similarly, individual preferences regarding bed firmness can vary. Despite these points, the overwhelmingly positive sentiment revolves around the excellent value for money and the range of facilities available. For those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Punxsutawney area, The Inn at Punxsutawney presents itself as a solid choice for a decent, amenity-rich, and conveniently located stay, particularly appealing to those who appreciate a good balance of cost and comfort, and don't mind navigating stairs to their room.

Best bed away from home ever!. Waterbed at home so stays away are usually very uncomfortable. Not so this time. Also, handheld shower, bench and grab bars were more than adequate. Very good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms and clean air.

I called the week before Groundhog Day to see about making reservations for Groundhog Day 2026. We got married on Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney several years ago and wanted to do an anniversary trip. I was told they were going to start taking reservations on Feb. 10, 2025. I called just after midnight on Feb. 10th and was told that they were already sold out and that the owners had started taking reservations before the 10th. Why get people's hopes up and lie to them? If you aren't going to let people have a chance at making a reservation, why not just say, "we book to the same people every year." In my opinion, pulling something like that shows that management is unethical. You reap what you sow. When you lie to your employees and your potential customers, it eventually comes back to bite you.
