If you want peace and quiet it is perfect. A little hard to find in the dark. Signage could be better. The steps don't go all the way down to the river but the view is gorgeous. The kitchenette is nice and has everything you need. The fireplace is just right for a relaxing evening.
The Lehigh Cabin in Historic Stoddartsville, located at 49 Buck Maple Ln, Blakeslee, PA 18610, USA, offers a distinctive lodging experience that stands out within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. Unlike traditional hotels, this property provides a private, secluded cabin retreat, appealing to local users and visitors seeking peace, quiet, and an immersive natural environment in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. This unique offering emphasizes privacy and a connection to the outdoors, making it an ideal choice for those looking for a tranquil escape rather than a bustling resort atmosphere.
The environment surrounding The Lehigh Cabin is perhaps its most compelling feature. Situated in a very secluded part of Pennsylvania, within the historically rich area of Stoddartsville, the cabin promises an unparalleled sense of tranquility and a deep connection with nature. The backyard boasts an "incredible view," with the focal point being the majestic river – likely the Lehigh River – which is described as "awesome to swim in." This direct access to the river for swimming and the picturesque vistas are significant draws. The overall ambiance is one of being "so much more in touch with nature," providing a true escape from urban life. While the location offers profound peace, prospective guests should be aware that its secluded nature means it can be "a little hard to find in the dark," and better signage could be beneficial for navigation upon arrival. Despite steps not reaching all the way to the river, the "gorgeous" view remains a consistent highlight.
In terms of services and features, The Lehigh Cabin is equipped to provide a self-sufficient and comfortable stay. A key amenity is the kitchenette, which is described as "nice and has everything you need." This typically includes basic cooking facilities, a refrigerator, and essential utensils, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and enjoy the privacy of the cabin. This feature is particularly appealing for extended stays or for those who prefer dining in. Another highly valued feature for a relaxing evening is the fireplace, described as "just right for a relaxing evening," contributing to the cozy and inviting atmosphere of the cabin, especially during cooler seasons.
The cabin is designed to accommodate couples or a small family, ideally with 2-3 children, suggesting a comfortable layout that prioritizes intimacy and shared experiences. While it excels in providing a rustic yet comfortable setting, it's crucial to address a specific feature mentioned in customer reviews: the air conditioning. The cabin "does not have central AC." While there is an AC unit specifically in the master bedroom, which is helpful for that particular space, the lack of central cooling can make "mid-summer" stays uncomfortably hot indoors, sometimes "hotter than it even was outside," even with all windows open. This is a significant consideration for guests planning summer visits. Conversely, the cabin "DOES have heating," ensuring comfort during colder months, and while one guest's accidental turning of the heating unit (mistaking it for AC) into a temporary "sauna" highlights a potential for user error, it confirms the presence of robust heating.
The overall guest experience at The Lehigh Cabin leans heavily on its peaceful and remote nature. Guests consistently express enjoyment of their stay, finding it a "very nice getaway" and recommending it for its unique qualities. The sense of solitude and the ability to reconnect with nature are paramount. The positive aspects far outweigh the "couple of petty details" mentioned, primarily concerning the AC during peak summer. The lack of traditional hotel services like a 24-hour front desk or daily housekeeping is inherent in the cabin rental model, emphasizing privacy and self-sufficiency, which aligns with the desires of its target audience.
Promotional information for The Lehigh Cabin in Historic Stoddartsville would strongly emphasize its unique selling propositions: tranquility, seclusion, and a direct connection to nature. Key phrases would include "peace and quiet," "incredible river view," "swimming in the river," and the cozy comfort of a "fireplace." The well-equipped kitchenette would be highlighted for self-catering convenience. The target audience would be those looking for a romantic escape for couples or a memorable family retreat for small groups, particularly those who appreciate outdoor activities and a break from urban noise. For local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," this property would be positioned as an ideal alternative to conventional hotels, offering a private and immersive natural experience in the Poconos. It would also be important to manage expectations regarding accessibility (especially at night) and the AC situation during summer months, ensuring that guests choose the cabin with a full understanding of its unique characteristics and limitations. The consistent positive sentiment regarding the overall experience and the beauty of the location suggests that The Lehigh Cabin delivers on its promise of a serene and natural getaway for those who seek it.

Dec 01, 2019 · Terra NoboraI really enjoyed our stay here. This is a cute little remote lodge in a very secluded part of Pennsylvania. The backyard has an incredible view, the river was awesome to swim in, and even just staying in this place you even feel so much more in touch with nature. My ONLY complaint is that this place does not have central AC. We visited mid-summer and even with all the windows open it was so hot inside, hotter than it even was outside. We were trying to chill on the couch and watch tv at night and we're just too hot so we ended up going to bed. There is an AC unit in the master bedroom which was helpful for only that room. This place DOES have heating, though. My girlfriend thought it was an AC unit and accidentally turned the place into a sauna temporarily. Aside from a couple of petty details, this was certainly a very nice getaway which I would recommend for a couple or a small family with 2-3 kids.
Jul 29, 2020 · Sean RischMy husband and I were look for a quiet getaway and this was the perfect place. everything we thought it would be and more. We loved our stay here along the river and staying in the woods. This place is about 30 min out of Jim Thorpe. We had so much fun and time to relax together. I would stay here again.
Aug 13, 2017 · RachelWas disappointed with not being able access the water at cabins location.Had to walk a good way to it. There are dangerous so called "steps" behind cabin, good luck!!The bed was very small and uncomfortable. We departed a day early for that reason.
Aug 07, 2019 · Ralph PuleoIt was the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing stay for our family with small children and a dog. It was nice and secluded, and there were plenty of things to do nearby. Looking forward to coming back again.
