Me and my friend were traveling back up from Florida to MI. Wanted to stop at a half way kind of point to break up the drive and even visit the Cherokee National Forest. Stumbled upon the mallard hotel and we got extremely lucky. The easiest self check in. Rooms are clean and updated, bed very very comfortable I couldn’t believe it. For such an affordable price it was worth every penny. Definitely will be back when we travel back down for our vacations!

The Mallard Hotel Introduce

For those exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" in the picturesque region of Copperhill, Tennessee, The Mallard Hotel stands out as a recently renovated boutique accommodation option. Located at 178 Five Points Dr, Copperhill, TN 37317, USA, this hotel aims to offer a comfortable and modern stay, particularly appealing to travelers seeking to experience the outdoor beauty and adventurous spirit of the area. This objective introduction will delve into the hotel's environment, services, features, and some of its promotional aspects, drawing from available online information and direct customer feedback to provide a balanced overview.

The environment surrounding The Mallard Hotel is one of its most significant draws. Copperhill is nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering breathtaking views and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation. This location places guests in close proximity to the renowned Ocoee River, a premier destination for whitewater rafting and kayaking, and the expansive Cherokee National Forest, which provides extensive trails for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring nature. The area is also convenient for accessing parts of western North Carolina and north Georgia, making it a strategic stop for travelers on longer road trips or those looking to explore a wider recreational zone. The "Five Points Dr" address suggests a location that might be easily accessible from main routes leading into and out of Copperhill. This setting provides a serene and natural backdrop, appealing to thrill-seekers and those simply wishing to unwind amidst stunning scenery. Nearby cultural venues like the Ducktown Basin Museum offer insights into the region's rich mining history, complementing the natural attractions.

In terms of services and features, The Mallard Hotel prides itself on being a newly remodeled property, aiming to provide a refreshed and comfortable experience. A distinctive feature is its "easiest self check-in" process, suggesting a modern, contactless approach to arrival and departure, which can be a significant convenience for guests arriving at off-hours. The hotel boasts clean and updated rooms, with specific mentions of "very very comfortable" beds, including premium bedding, down comforters, and memory foam mattresses, indicating a focus on guest comfort and sleep quality.

The Mallard Hotel offers a range of amenities designed to enhance the stay. These include complimentary in-room WiFi, ensuring guests can stay connected, and a free daily "on-the-go" breakfast, providing a convenient start to the day. For those who like to maintain their fitness routines, a fitness center is available. The hotel also features a game room with a billiards/pool table and a movie area, offering indoor entertainment options, particularly useful during inclement weather or for evening relaxation. Guest laundry facilities are provided, which is a highly valued amenity for travelers on extended trips. Outdoor communal spaces are a highlight, including a firepit, an outdoor entertainment area with outdoor furniture, and charcoal grills, perfect for social gatherings or simply enjoying the mountain air. A picnic area and yard also add to the relaxing ambiance.

The guestrooms themselves are individually furnished and decorated, offering a personalized touch. Beyond the comfortable bedding, rooms typically include a 43-inch Smart TV with streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, air conditioning and heating, a private bathroom with a shower and complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer, a coffee/tea maker, a kitchenette with a microwave and mini-fridge, and even private yards in some rooms. Connecting/adjoining rooms are also available, catering to families or groups traveling together. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing dogs to stay for free, which is a significant advantage for pet owners. Housekeeping is available upon request. The transformation from its previous identity as "The Ducktown Copper Inn" to "The Mallard Hotel" signifies a comprehensive renovation and a commitment to providing a higher standard of hospitality, while subtly retaining a connection to the local "Ducktown" heritage.

Regarding promotional information, The Mallard Hotel actively positions itself as a "boutique hotel in the heart of the North Georgia, East Tennessee mountains," catering to "thrill seekers and business travelers." It highlights its recent renovations and upgraded amenities as key selling points. The emphasis is on providing a "luxury" experience with "top-notch features and services" while maintaining an "affordable price." The hotel promotes its unmatched hotel accommodations and high-class hospitality, with friendly staff ready to assist with room-related needs, local attraction suggestions, and even interacting with pets. The convenient self-check-in process is also a prominent promotional aspect, appealing to modern travelers seeking efficiency and autonomy. For users searching on "Hotels Near Of Me," The Mallard Hotel leverages its unique combination of modern amenities, comfortable rooms, and direct access to the region's famous outdoor activities, such as the Ocoee River rafting and Cherokee National Forest exploration. Its appeal lies in offering a more refined and feature-rich experience compared to typical budget motels, while still maintaining competitive pricing for the value delivered.

However, an objective introduction must also address customer feedback. While one review enthusiastically praises the hotel for its "clean and updated" rooms, "very very comfortable" bed, and "extremely lucky" find at an "affordable price," strongly recommending it for breaking up long drives and visiting Cherokee National Forest, another review provides a more nuanced perspective. This second review acknowledges the "nice place" and "great rooms," even appreciating the "custom drawn welcome design on the whiteboard." However, it explicitly notes the presence of "a lot of bugs like Stink Bugs and Ladybugs present within the room." While the reviewer still recommends the hotel for a "temporary place to stay the night," they suggest considering other options like a Holiday Inn for "long term stay such as 1-2 weeks." This feedback indicates that while the hotel excels in terms of comfort, modern amenities, and aesthetics following its renovation, pest control might be an intermittent issue that could affect longer stays for some guests. Despite this, the overall positive sentiment regarding the hotel's value and comfort appears to outweigh the reported bug issue for short-term visitors.

In summary, The Mallard Hotel in Copperhill, TN, presents itself as a compelling choice for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the region. Its recent renovation has brought modern comforts, including premium bedding, Smart TVs with streaming, and convenient in-room amenities like kitchenettes. The hotel also boasts a range of appealing communal features such as a game room, fitness center, firepit, and laundry facilities, all within an environment that offers immediate access to the outdoor adventures of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Ocoee River. While isolated reports of minor pest issues exist, the overwhelming feedback points to a highly comfortable, clean, and well-appointed property offering excellent value for its price, particularly for short stays and as a base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty.

It was a nice place and had great rooms, I was a big fan of the custom drawn welcome design on the whiteboard. Despite this, the room we got had a lot of bugs like Stink Bugs and Ladybugs present within the room. If you are looking for a temporary place to stay the night, I recommend this hotel. If you are looking for a long term stay such as 1-2 weeks, I would probably go somewhere else like Holiday Inn.

Looks can be deceiving. We booked this hotel as a one night stop on our way home. The price was very reasonable, and the pictures on the website looked incredible. Shortly after booking, we got a very friendly letter with self check-in instructions. Upon arriving, we were worried that the picture on the website might have been misleading. The parking lot was empty, the paint on the doors was flaking, and the code for the door did not work. The check-in instructions provided additional information for a lock box key. We retrieved the key and cautiously opened the door. Much to our surprise. The room was incredibly clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We examined some of the other amenities to find they had a wonderful sitting area with picnic tables and many adorandac chairs surrounding three fire pits. The firewood was neatly stacked at the edge of the sitting area. Other amenities include a guest laundry room, gym, and game room on the third floor. We would highly recommend this place to anyone needing a clean, comfortable room for the night or even for a vacation visiting the Cherokee National Park.

Nicely furnished room, but poorly serviced. A bit odd really, as there was coffee but no cups, no glasses for water, one knife, spoon and bowl. I suppose we might have been able to get some from the service room, but that's not the point, surely the room should be replenished after each guest. Other than that it was good value for money. Comfortable bed and not noisy.

You can tell someone put a lot of love into the property. Sadly, the execution sucks. The rooms are beautiful and well thought out. When you pull in, there is a wonderful outdoor area with multiple fire pits and picnic tables with a view of the mountains. You also see the tattered flag sign and the peeling paint. They have automated messages that send you all the information for contact-less check-in. The hotel is actually run as an AirBnB- no staff on-site. The battery was dead in the door lock to our room. We had to call to get a code to a lock box with one key to the room. We spent the weekend juggling one key. When we walked into the room, the smoke detector was lying on the microwave. Then we tried to close the door. It wouldn't close. My husband had to tighten the screws on the strike plate for it to close. This had to be repeated a few times during our stay. We ran out of toilet paper. There wasn't a spare roll. There weren't any coffee cups, ceramic or paper. I tried to take a shower around 7pm. No hot water. Tried again around 8, slightly warmer. Tried again around 9 pm. In the sink, the water was hot. In the shower, ok. Quickly went to lukewarm. Checked the sink when I got out of the shower, lukewarm also. The welcome message on the whiteboard had obviously been there for a long time and needed to be redone. The grab and go breakfast was pretty much non-existent. It has great bones, and just needs caretakers that care.
